And when it is ready the demand for it will be negligible, it will also be very dangerous and the cost i imagine will still be much more than the largest figure the NBN could cost.
NBN isn't a bad thing however there has been no cost-benfeit analysis. It's just as though the government is willing to spend so much money when it doesn't need to on technology that can be improved. How ignorant is this man? Right now, I live only 80km from a state capital city, but have only just, in the last few months, got access to ADSL2. For the first time, I can watch youtube clips without having to wait 5 minutes for them to load first!
I lived in the middle of nowhere in Japan for several years and got 50 meg there. Compared to what I get in Oz, it was AMAZING!! We are so out of date here. We need to grow, but Alan would rather we wait and wait and wait and wait... Stupid!!!

Me, I love the NBN for one simple reason: My phone line is no longer owned by Telstra who only put 2 copper wires (yet charged me for FOUR) that meant I had to use very expensive wireless broadband. Then they offered ADSL-1 at TRIPLE the cost of ADSL-2 (worse performance and yet cost more).
