@blackhakwar Marion had decided to go back to Phoenix, come clean, and take the consequence, so when she stepped into the bathtub it was as if she were stepping into the baptismal waters. The spray beating down on her was purifying the corruption from her mind, purging the evil from her soul. She was like a virgin again, tranquil, at peace
Wouldn't Norman be blood splattered? Did he really have time to change his clothes? Oh well, good movie. And A.H. froze the camera, I read, to make her look dead, not blinking, breathing, but you can see the drops of water not running off her nose. lol!
@IGNerBrasil I would love to do that for you guys but unfortunately, i dont know how to make a web page and it would probably cost money. if you have any suggestions on making a webpage or anything, please let me know.
I'm probably the only person to notice this, but at 0:28 Bates removes a painting from the wall to peer at Marion undressing. The painting's subject is "Susannah and the Elders" ...a biblical story about two lecherous voyeurs who try to take advantage of an unsuspecting young woman while she's bathing. An interesting bit of symbolism on the part of Mr Hitchcock.
@davishev dont be so surprised about that, Hitchcock was a legend. He knew what he was doing, he had a lot of secrets in hes films and it takes time for the audience to realise that.
Anthony Perkins was born to play Norman Bates!

Tony did his finest work here. So wrong that he didn't win an Oscar for this role.

@blackhakwar It is because she has decided to return the stolen money so her shower is washing away her sins.

@Gencturk92 I agree! What Hitchcock was to or did for filmmaking, Magic Johnson did for passing or "assists!"
