I must say, this is one of the most helpful video for soldering traxxas connectors and with all these 8 gauge wires on lipos now a days....I also found this video quit enjoyable lol :) Great job!
Tining the wire is an important step in proper soldering techniques. Tining allows the solder to properly penetrate the wire and allows for better heat transfer. If you didn't tin your wire, you might be okay if your motor is operating properly. The joints don't need to be shiny, but shiny joints usually mean that there are no impurities in the solder joint which is good. Flux can also burn, making the joint less shiny.
Very helpful instruction! I soldered my traxxas connector without tining the terminals as the traxxas instruction said, is this ok? My joints are not as shinning as yours, could that because I used silver solder instead of tin-lead solder?

=O what kind of "powerhouse" do those use?
littleseanx 2 years ago
They can use anything from a 3s to 6s. 4s is the standard for most tracks as it is plenty of power. 5s or 6s is really insane.

@binaryclock01 i meant liek what motor. i would assume mamba max 2000kv or so?

um...ok I think my soldered joint is good. I ran my RC truck a few times and the motor worked as I expected. Thanks.
