Being United at this point is more important than showing the west you are democratic. Yes, Magabe loves power but why do we all have to love power over seeing change in Africa. North Korea is not democratic but they are better off than Z. Maybe in 50years when people are more educated can we start having competetive politics. For Magabe, don't beat him, join him for the sake of Africa. HE won't kill anyone if he has no enemies. Then we can focus on building not destroying.

Umm it pains me to say this, but you do have a point there. If Zimbabwe had large oil reserves then yes, I think the world would have taken better notice of Zimbabwe. You can't really target Britain on this, as they like so many other nations these days are riding on the American's coat tails. Not since Maragret Thatcher, have the British had strong leadership.
