  • Ram Dass is a graceful teacher. his wisdom has brought me much relief as i navigate my own path. thank you for this wonderful post.

  • We are attached to our belief in reincarnation and a soul that goes on in a universe that we can control. Belief in Heaven, belief in Nirvana, belief in Moksha, belief that you only live once and never live again: it's all rooted in the same desire. Ram Dass apparently never overcame those desires.

  • @imjustpassinthru he actually discusses this in his books and his speaking engagements. he stated that he has not overcome all of his desires. but that he has overcome judgment and merged into Divine Love. he states it is ALL clinging....

  • @progressiveGal73 ... I'm sorry, you're wrong in your perception of what he has said or is saying. It's one thing to talk about overcoming desire and another thing to fully understand what your desires are. People have desires they are not even aware of. And there is no way of "overcoming" those desires, as if it were a matter of effort. If you understand the specific desire I'm alluding to (and you don't) then you will acknowledge that enlightenment is a matter or realization, not effort.

  • @imjustpassinthru thank you for your feedback.~

  • thanks for this

the background fits very well, very hypnotic

    Ram Dass coming through

    as clear as it gets

  • Great stuff. Echoes God Speaks - Meher Baba. Ram Dass's heart space/being is so special. we connect.

  • Namaste. Thank You. Namaste.

  • Being here in the now, how very sense memory!

How far is this from the 'shame core' of bullshite?

  • @FidelCastro128 pretty far.

  • That dude is my favorite guy ever! Be here now!

  • Thnks for sharing.

  • Brilliant and thankyou. He hits it below the belt and is spot on.

  • ...it is only the non attached mind that can truly appreciate how it is... otherwise u are just seeing the projections of ur own desires...this is a brilliant speech. really helping me to hear this... and we so often forget...for this reason we have to listen more often to saints like Ram Dassji.

  • Is it that we do not want out of our drama or that we do not know the way out?

  • Some of both. We are attached to the known. This is why one of Krishnamurti's books is titled 'Freedom from the known'. The known is memory, It is past.

For the way out Mooji is a good reference but I also like listening to Ramdass.

  • well, if what is known is experienced as it is known still make it memory, or simply a nuance on direct experience of what Is?

  • i honestly think its b/c we are used to these shallow emotional states and just havent experienced anything deeper, so much so that when we do experience something with depth to it we withdraw immediately b/c it is outside our comfort zone.

  • Very poignant. Thanks for posting...
