@binovski5 by the 850 do you mean the Corsair HX850 Power supply ?. I had one problem with it.RMA'd it because it has a funny buzzing sound coming from inside. which i think might've been the fan you could hardly hear it but i am picky about these things. Other than that its an awesome PSU..voltages are strong. comes with 7 year warranty would defiantly recommend this or the new AX series.
@binovski5 All good. The Thermaltake Prowater 850i is an excellent entry level water cooling kit. I haven't had any problems with it. I have had it for a little over a year now with no leaks or problems. I will be selling mine shortly as i have upgraded.
@binovski5 The only thing i didn't like about it is that the reservoir is connected next to the pump. so you need to make sure you have enough room in your case. Also the pump that the 850 came with only had a 1.3meter head on it which would be bad for high restriction loops.
If you where looking for something a little better try EK's kits like the H3O Supreme LT 240 Kit.
@Sabran44 I wanted it to just cool my gpu's, if the 850 can do the job than i dont need the 880 + the 850's radiator would be easy to mount inside my case. Thanks for your help dude.
@binovski5 The kit doesn't come with GPU blocks you would have to buy them separately. along with barbs/compression fittings that will fit 3/8" ID tubing.
If you are just wanting to cool your graphics cards i would buy it piece by piece and not in a kit. it would probably be more cost effective this way. I also recommend using a 240mm radiator.
@Sabran44 I was going to buy the waterblocks separately, I wanted this kit because its cheap but if its not going to be efficient i will look into a custom solution. Thanks again
@binovski5 The EK water cooling kits are good. otherwise a mcp355, mcp655/laing d5 pump. with 1/2" tubing some EK gpu blocks. couple of compression fittings and your choice of reservoir would be good.
Why are you running liquid cooling when you're at a super low clock. I mean the chip is 3.2Ghz stock, it's not even clocked over 25%. I know my Q6600 will do 3.8Ghz stable with a stock clock of 2.4Ghz. Amd not stable enough?
@stick00it Uhhh....Well i live in QLD Australia up in townsville and it gets pretty hot up here, around 30-32 degree's so i need water cooling to keep my temps down at stock 3.2 with stock cooler i got around 45-52 load at 3.8 the temps where just way to high, now i get around 35-40 load @ 3.8, make sense ? I'm no where near the max of my chip i want to hit 4.0 but i was having some problems with my motherboard, which is now getting replaced...and even then i have to push my volts to 1.5ish,
@thomaswilliams....Really ? just normal mineral oil ? where abouts do you purchase this ? and what kind of temps are you getting. is it much of a difference from what came with the kit ?
@thomaswilliams What kind of Processor are you running atm ? I get around 30's idle with my Phenom II 955 @ 3.8ghz and up in the 45's at load, Where do i get mineral oil lol ?
@Sabran44 im literally using redular sunflower oil because then it doesn't smell and its alot thinner but gives me temps at 15 degrees idle and 20 max under load
My local pc shop sells waterblocks, fro two GTX570's they want $120.00.
