cougars dont have that powerful of a V6 but the cougar definatily would of raped the focus.....i think its the driver, but anyways there nice cars no doubt but you need to do alot of work on them to make them great. i have a 2.5L V6 coug as well and i notice that between third and fourth gear is when it tends to boost up speed the most so it takes forever.....

Yeah that cougar is not being run to its full potential for sure, I had a 00' v6 ATX and it was faster then that. Plus i dont knwo if its both of them but someone is riding their clutch hard at the start.

If you know how to use an automatic there's basically fuck all difference. Certainly a 2.5 automatic should be PISSING all over a 1.6 Focus. Shit drivers is what I say.

he was not pushing that cougar. Not no way not no how. He slows down after accelerating and says somthing hes rpms are not climbing normal he must of let off the throttle a little.I wish cougars had variable valve timing to boost those higher rpms

And I can tell you, that you are little bit wrong. I actualy tried to shift manual trough gears, but as you can see this is a bad idea, because it over-revs.

Still the ATX Cougar is quite a slow car to be honest, but the MTX is waaaaay better.

Take the overdrive off and redline it until the engine is on the verge of exploding. The Cougar is slow to move away but it is a V6 and can really fucking grab itself by the scruff of the neck and go past a lot of things.

The automatic shifting on the 2.4L Duratec V6 on the Cougar was slow... My Cougar could pull out at the end in races but it was slow to accelerate. My friend had a 2000 with a manual V4, a less capable engine, but she could always beat me in the sprints because she could manually shift faster.

Otherwise, I would think that the Cougar would have smoked the little Focus.
