  • Comment removed

  • Originally a swedish folk song.

  • Una volta al giorno bisognerebbe ascoltare How Great Thaou Art.

    E' veramente fantastica.

    Elvis favoloso.

  • Até hoje nunca vi ninguem cantar esta música como Elvis....Amem...Parabens!

  • To comment again, in two words, "Awesome" and "Captivating"

  • this was back when people really new the lord and not just his name!

  • I was visiting a great cathedral recently and I couldn't get this song out of my head. As it says Awesome.

  • 1:22 loved his expressions...

& 1:22 onward its absolutely awesome ...... nicely sung

  • This is a great song, but not as good as the orginal song from Sweden, with swedish text!

  • Omgosh hes going to be remembered

  • The best gospel song Elvis ever sang. AWESOME

  • To Jinhoo26:

Of course you would say that. If you spent your whole life bomarded by the same information, how can you think for yourself?? The same for a staunch muslim or hindu. Call it what you want, but it is still brainwashing. You have no chance.

  • @gsagan02 lol. i don't think being saved is the same as being brainwashed :P

  • idk how u can worship god and worship the devil at the same time. but he sure shows us how.

  • @littleleda He didn't worship the devil.

  • @littleleda no he always worshipped god. he was tempted by satan like the rest of us was and stumbled.

  • THAT MAN USED TO LOVE GOD! I RESPECT HIM!! GOD BLESS U

  • when i was a little girl, i wanted to marry Elvis or my doctor. Sadly, both are gone now and at this point im old too. what a shame

  • The king period!

  • awsome-one of my favorites but don't forget everyone is born an atheist your religion is determined by where you were born. It is what it is.

  • @gsagan02 actually, everyone is born Christian and what you believe is determined in how you live your life.

  • @jinhoo26 I don't believe that for a minute. The Jews were the first to right the bible. Both the OT and the NT..and of course as we all know, they never have accepted Jesus as a God, who will be our saviour. I was born into a Catholic family. Devout Catholics. I left the church when I was 35 yrs old. I had read the bible, and knew that praying to Mary..was an offense to Jesus. He said "I am the way and the life. None come to the Father except through me." Yet they still pray to Mary.

  • @HeatherGlen33 Maybe you did not realize as a Catholic, that Catholic do pray and ask Mary for help. Jesus told us in the Book of John...."Behold your Mother" Jesus was giving us his Mother, giving his Mother to the world as our Mother too. We do not worship her, we hold her in high regard. I was a Protestant who became a Catholic. I have learned more about the bible since becoming Catholic, than from any other church. We read from the OT and the Gospel at every Mass.

  • @califgirl11 Yes, Jesus wanted John to care for his mother, in his home. I assume that would be if her children could no longer care for her. She did have other children. Mary has no authority to hear you're prayers, nor can she answer them. She lived a long life and then died. Jesus never referred to her as "mother." It was always "woman" or Mary. I was a bible student for over 2 years. When we die..we stay dead until the resurrection. Mary is dead,. She cannot hear you.

  • @califgirl11 I must add.."Jesus said to Mary " woman, what do I have to do with you? My hour has not yet come." That was when his mother asked about the wine. Again "who are my mothers and my brothers?"He looked upon others and said, Behold my mother and my brothers." "They are my mother and brothers" Mark 3:vs 33-34-35.

  • Elvis Ver. is too short :(

  • no sound

  • Makes me think of Big Ned, my daddys favorite song by his favorite singer. Makes me think of the old days at pleasant valley baptist church, brother Eberhart, those were the days.

  • A truly great voice a really poor rendition of an even greater song...

  • @ hjenkinz Not true at all. Don't know where you got that info. Elvis was raised in the church, and loved to sing gospel songs. That is where he got his start. He often praised the Lord publicly. Search youtube for the audio where he tells his fans there is only one King, and that is Christ Jesus. I cant post the link.

  • HADDA SAY GOODNITE WITH THE VOICE THAT REVERENCED AND LOVED PRAISING GOD THOUGH WORSHIP BY USING HIS GOD GIVEN TALENT! SEE YA SOON ELVIS!

    "WORD STRAIGHT UP!!"

  • @WhomTheSonSetFree elvis was a notorious atheist, in fact he hated christianity

  • one of the best 240p

  • THANK YOU for posting these DARLIN', sure does take me back..God bless you and yours.

  • an singer with German ancestry, and a swedish song "oh store Gud",-

  • One of my favorite sings..... <3

  • The guy was anointed and can sing

  • Before Justin Bieber, there was Elvis!

  • A voice given by God, used to Praise His Name....We need that voice today...RIP Elvis, God has blessed you....

  • how in this world could there be anyyyy red on that like bar. i mean this is a beautiful song by an Amazing artist. i am 16 years old and have listened to this man for my whole lofe and every time i hear his voice it makes you wanna get down on your knees and pray to the good Lord above.

  • incredible sideburns.

  • eu sou tenor

  • @BelieveandtrustJesus Well, if the end is soon, we must remember that all we have to do is follow Jesus and His Commandments, and we shall be saved. No matter how much it seems like Satan will win, he never will. The Master is too powerful for him, and the Righteous are destined to prevail.

"If ye love me, keep my commandments" -St.John 14:15-16

  • Sorry if I offend anyone with my language, Elvis Presley was the Fuckin BEST entertainer ever!!!

  • @favre16 A M E N !

  • Sounds like a sand ------ go back to your country if its so great.

  • @Rushfan if they're so great then go watch them lol. Nobody's stopping you.

  • I just sang this song at jtyler5. Check it out and comment.

  • The people who disliked this please get over yourselves.

  • There have been hundreds of artists coverin' this powerful classic.

However, this is the definitive version.

  • And he adored his Ma!

  • i keep watching all his video for 3 hours now. thx youtube!

how great Thou art (elvis presley)

  • I agree with u Doug

  • Isn't it amazing how times have changed! Here is the King of Rock and Roll singing a gospel song at a show, and not only was it acceptable but it was also just part of the norm back then. You would never see anything like that today without offending someone. It just shows how the moral fabric of our country has broken down. God broke the mold when he made Elvis

  • @dougstras so true. things have changed so much and it's sad. there are days I wish so bad i lived back 40 or 50 years ago instead of this day and age. but oh well, I love God and I will always worship no matter what people say.

  • @dougstras Read your comment with an open mind and heart. Have to agree with you totally. Elvis sang How Great Thou Art better than anyone. But, time marches on. Vince Gill and Carrie Underwood sang it on a TV production that caused me to break down in tears. Great song with a true meaning.

  • @dougstras Your statement is true. Our moral fabric is damaged. There was a time that this was normal.

  • @dougstras You are absolutely right!

    Merry Christmas!!!

    Irena M

  • @BelieveandtrustJesus AMEN! I so agree with you.

  • Hotel California decoded is about God and life on earth here. See the decoding at myspace.com and the highestprecision UN and the blogs there. eg: 'so I called to jesus 'the captain' please turn my spirits to wine, he said we have not had that faith here since people lost the meaning of the number seven '1969' is 1+9+6+9 ...7.

  • Notice the two back-up singer chicks. Both extremely hot. One is black, the other white, singing together. It is culture, song, and celebration that overcomes racism, not governments and legislation. Western culture has its faults, but it has evolved into the most tolerant, open-minded way of living in the history of the world.

  • You don't get better than that. Period. Wow

  • Whenever we sing this in church, I think of Elvis!

  • Elvis was awesome on this. I have that album also. He recorded the album in 1966 and won a grammy Best Gospel Album.

  • Fuckeeeeeeeeeeeeen awesome...

  • Thank you,Elvis! very much

  • Faantastic song performed by the greatest entertainer this world will ever see. Amazing voice looks talent and feeling in his every breath. Long live the Music and Magic of Elvis Presley.

  • Beautiful old Swedish song ( 1885). Lyrics by a preacher, Carl Boberg, melody old Swedish folk tune. When Elvis first was told it is all Swedish, he is supposed to has said :"Such a great song from such a small country". Artur Erikson, late religious singer sings the Swedish version here on YouTube, although i prefer Elvis version. In Swedish it is called "O store Gud" (O great God)

  • CLICK ON: disccentury, GOSPEL MUSIC, NEVER SEEN

  • what can i say only a angel is singing

  • Goosebumps! Must be good

  • When I was a kid I was nicknamed "Little Elvis" cause I used to mimic him & sing his songs. I was good. "What a fool I've been." I wish Elvis would have been able to stay just a little longer & help me really "grow up." Now that I am 48, it is hard for me to hear Elvis songs without thinking of "How Great Thou Art", "American Trilogy", and more that touched my heart and soul. I can't wait to meet him when we meet Jesus face to face. My Mom & Dad have already met Elvis. My turn is coming soon.

  • Elvis died from a broken heart

Listen to the words of his songs

The man lost the will to live

  • Elvis was so kind and generous besides being a talented singer and gorgeous human as well. I find pleasure in seeing the younger fans commenting.

  • What an amazing performance. This is one of my favorite gospel songs performed by the king. May you continue to sing in heaven. Love your music!

  • Wouldnt get away with this TODAY..People are starting to wake up. Elvis was great But that was before we had the net and a bit more info.

  • Nobody could sing gospel like ELvis.

    Kenny Williams

  • I hope Carrie Underwood sees this version and feels appropriately humbled.

  • I get chills and tears in my eyes every time I hear and watch Elvis. And i am only 17, Its AMAZING how someone from 30-50 years ago can effect me now. He will always be the greatest entertainer to ever live. He was beautiful, kind, humble, generous, charming, gifted, and devoted to God. No one will ever come CLOSE to reaching his standards and level of perfection and talent.

God Bless! Elvis is home now! <3

  • @Chrisyxoxo same here bro. we both are the same age and we both have the same feelings on the legend

  • @Chrisyxoxo Im only 15 (almost 16) and I know what ya mean. he was turely amazing. ♥

I agree to every word you said......:)

  • @Chrisyxoxo touche touche touche my acquaintance

  • @Chrisyxoxo i am 52 and i share the same opinion

  • @tupeloband1 thats awesome :)

  • @Chrisyxoxo lilwayne is close to that. XD

  • @DevPack He is far from it , no one will ever come close to being like Elvis.

  • @Chrisyxoxo lol i was kidding haha. fuck lilwayne.

  • @DevPack ok good hahaha

  • @Chrisyxoxo

I am so happy you love Elvis as much as I do. It restores my faith in our young people to know that some out there have taste in what is really excellent music. No ONE will ever be better than Elvis and touch so many generations of people! Thanks sweetie!

  • @55Pricilla Thanks so much for that, I feel the same way. I have loved Elvis ever since my dad showed me "Aloha From Hawaii" when I was 5. I got the chance to have dinner with the Sweet Inspirations in Memphis this year and the stories they told made me love Elvis even more!

  • @Chrisyxoxo boring cunt

  • @thefennpup you need help.

  • @Chrisyxoxo Totally agreed! 1 Million thumbs up!

  • @Chrisyxoxo I totally agree with everything you said. I am also 17, and have loved Elvis for as long as I can remember. He has always been there. Got me through the tough times. How can a man be so truly talented, and so beautiful?? Rest In Peace Elvis, I'll see you someday xxx

  • @Chrisyxoxo Greatest singer yes. Greatest entertainer no wayy

  • @Chrisyxoxo He was not humble or devoted to God. He was a drunk a drug addict and a womanizer. But you are 100% correct on all other comments. He was the greatest entertainer that ever lived. I could vomit when I hear people compare Michael Jackson to him. Not even in the same league.

  • @joeytwosubs Thats where you are hugely mistaken, Elvis rarely EVER drank, and his addiction to drugs were all prescribed to a doctor to help him sleep and stay awake during late concerts. In comparison to the drugs stars use today, he's a saint.. I've talked with the Sweet Inspirations many times and with friends who knew him, and read countless books on Elvis, and he WAS devoted to God. Any true fan would know that. But yes, he was the greatest entertainer.

  • @joeytwosubs I think you're confusing "Devoted to God" with "Perfect in his Image".

  • @Chrisyxoxo no one cares you chump, just listen to the song, i dgaf about your age, im only 2 and i listen to elvis :p

  • @562ole move on.

  • Elvis, We your fans, will never forget you. The King!

  • Yes, that low voice was J.D. Sumner, he and the Stamps Quartet, were Elvis Presley's back-up singers. Elvis and J.D. were very close friends. J. D. Sumner was in the Guiness Book of World Records, for having the lowest voice on earth. That big beautiful diamond ring that J.D. Sumner always wore, was a personal gift to him by Elvis Presley.

  • okay..lol...i am most likely the biggest Elvis fan ever..cuz i got laughed at in school for liking him, istead of the Beatles..but....while he might be the king...of rock & roll......JESUS IS THE KING..KING OF KINGS..& ELVIS' TALENT WAS BECAUSE OF THE LORD GOD.....and YES .....JCDCN2.....he was awesome.....but not the only voice...just one of GOD"S very elite...very best....amen?....amen...........In His Love, His_Kid2

  • Elvis made it look easy. That's why he's the King.

  • awsome

  • AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME....no one will ever be as good as him!

  • in awsome wonder,mams burial song,breaks me in two,but a song.

  • i love listening to Elvis` gospel music, always makes me feel closer to the Lord

  • That deep voice is BEYOND deep!

  • @smile21jonno: It's JD Sumner...a life-long friend of Elvis. You should look him up, great music.

  • Just listen to the music.

  • ELVIS FOREVER from ALGERIAN FAN.

  • Simply the best!

  • Elvis was the best Jewish sing ever. Dean Martin was the 2nd best jewish singer ever.

  • @XYtruck25 Elvis was not Jewish, I am not saying it is a bad thing to be Jewish, far from it but he was not. Back on his mothers side he had cherokee indian in his family.

  • the only grammys he ever won was for his gospel. that is his best. oh i forgot about 'Clambake Chowder'.

  • the king indeed!

  • Don't spout numbers....This is not impressing to anyone.Tell it like it is..How great thou art..It.is exactly what it says it is.The architect is just that ...GREAT

  • Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

  • THE KING

  • never has there been a voice like his since, that range, he sang great at the lows and great at the high notes...a true original one of a kind....now with christ

  • When E.P. sang R+R, it was strong. When he sings Gospel> it IS POWERFUL!

  • When E.P. sang R+R, it was strong. When he sings Gospel> it IS POWERFUL!

  • Did you see Cissy Houston, Whit's mom, in the background?

  • One of the finest Christian songs of all time...this song has helped win literal millions to Christ. In short, the Holy Spirit uses it..for God's glory.

  • And ""they" tried to call him evil ~

A young man who made a record for his mother ~

    Peace,

    V

  • gives me chills..such a masterpiece

  • @JackieL1977 thats why he's ummmm THE KING

  • elvis - gospel get the cd its brilliant

  • Conway Twitty is better.

  • I love Elvis! This is great.... Btw he was way better looking in the 60s

  • @22dixiechick : The 70's did that to a lot of people. He was beauty, no matter the decade.

  • @hanrobec Yeah that's true. You can't beat true talent.

  • you're sad natalie6576. what the h do you care if Kyle likes to imitate Elvis or whatever? you need to lighten up abit!!! Do you have a problem with people who believe in God, in Jesus, in Heaven? I know--atheists are so f...ing smart. NOT!!!

  • Hi, plz check my videos ...just type Christine Neveu- How Great Thou Art. Its a soul version of the song and an amateur video live at a Gospel concert...I am a mauritian artist. Hope u`ll like it.

  • @MrNYGOLD What is a firstnations man??? I think he was referring to the fact that people take the gift of creation and worship them instead of the creator. What don't u get about that?? Look at India and other nations that worship rats, snakes, trees and the like. You might be so excellently intelligent that you understand not to worship these things, but people do worship and idolize material things whether that be animals, rocks or rock stars.

  • If God is your co-pilot you need to change seats. When you take Christ out of the USA you will take away the freedom only the USA has had. Protect the freedoms we have had to defend. Here at home we need Christ more than ever....

  • LONG LIVE THE KING,34 YEARS GONE AND THE LEGEND LIVES ON!!! THANK YOU ELVIS FOR THE 68 SPECIAL AND TOUCHING MY LIFE. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT 43 YEARS LATER I AM BLESSED WITH PERFORMING YOUR MUSIC AS A TRIBUTE ARTIST,GOD BLESS AND UNTIL WE MEET IN HEAVEN,KEEP SINGING WITH THE ANGELS.

  • The studio version is his best of this song. Carrie, you where nice, but no where close to Elvis.

  • awesome elvis

  • Plz check my video on youtube, just type christine neveu- how great thou art ( there are 2 amateur videos live)

  • @eyemla "i sure hope he had time to say "Lord remember me a SINNER" thank you for posting this. If only christians worshiped chirst like this, the world would be healed

  • @nanfaircloth I hope so too. Elvis was so terribly messed up with drugs. He was just a hurting man just like the rest of us.

  • how this man is even able to sing anything is beyond me.....a drug filled faker singing of God, I just hope his last words were "lord remember me" on the toliet. Do not make idol sayeth the Lord. This a sinful man, hope he ain't hot

  • @nanfaircloth are you perfect you suck

  • @billyjack110 no not perefect, just forgiven. he was just a plain ole man that could sing then took drugs to get up and then drugs to go to sleep. you see something wrong with that picture? i was more worried about his soul than him thinking he could sing. singing about God while you are high on drugs of the devil isn't funny. like I said hope he prayed while he was dying.

  • @nanfaircloth it is impossible that a person on drugs could sing like that bro.

  • @nanfaircloth wow. what an idiot. do you personally have any idea what an addiction can do to someone? ever consider that Elvis began taking those pills out of necessity then got hooked? good job being judgemental there pal.

  • @nanfaircloth He was pentecost im sure he called out to God before he left this world

  • @nanfaircloth A very non-christian thing for you to say. I hope you realize how aweful you make yourself look in posts like this. You are obviously not a good Christian or an Elvis fan.

  • God How Great Thou Art! or How Great You Are, then sings my soul!!!

  • you are beautiful Elvis.

  • NOT RELIGION........... .....SPIRITUAL SALVATION is the gift of God. You cannot earn it. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves,it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."Ephesians 2:8,9. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, & shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved". Romans 10:9. Godbless

  • Elvis is singing this in Heaven.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • How could anyone dislike this song or any song singing to our God! Shame on you for the dislike I dont see you standing for our God and singing to him! Thank you God for saving me!

  • Yesterday my grandpa died and he was seeing glimpses of heaven, and he said he saw elvis.:) and this was his favorite hymn:)
