  • it was a fairly good video, but I would add that when splinting any fracture you should try to secure the splint both above and below the injury, and if it is a closed fracture, you can use a roll of gauze, if you have it, and wrap the entire splint completely top to bottom, if you do that you can check circulation by pinching the fingernail bed and seeing how long it takes to turn back to normal color, 2 to 4 secs means good circulation

  • Also, when splinting a wrist or lower arm, you should put something, such as a roll of gauze, in the person's hand, so that you splint the hand in the position of function

  • I did this to mine didnt think was broken though I broke both bones and cracked my elbo

  • Good Improvising with the magazine.

I had to fabricate a wrist splint with duct tape, and a bent piece of metal.

  • on wednsday i fractured a bone right beneath my tumb and slept on it untill today so now i finally had it splinted but its to hard for me to type D:

  • Awesome vid, good acting, and really informative thanks!

  • Great acting and very useful! I sprained my wrist and this video was just what i was looking for! I used the magazine wrap until my boyfriend came home with a wrist brace.

  • Magazine, great idea. I'm always picking up tips about emergency situations, never know. My bro-in-law saved a guy's hand after he cut it off. Only reason, cause he knew to put a plastic bag over the hand before putting it on ice. I had no idea, I would have killed it. Thank You for the useful tips.

  • Bravo to all involved in this informative video! Never thought that a magazine could be used in this fashion-great to know!
