Sof is a type of a cloth(thick cloth, sofa is also derived from there) which sheet/peace was taken on shoulders by a group of muslims after Prophet Muhammad PBUH. They beleived that they will follow exactly the life of Prophet PBUH, no matter what difficuties they face. Since they were covering themselves with SOF, therefore they were started to be called SOOFI.
