I just got into Ryuichi-sensei's work a few months ago when I heard Amorosso and I found out Ryuichi-sensei composed it.
It's sad seeing kids my age only listen to new generation pop and hip-hop and I was put down when they found out I listen to this kind of music too ;-;
But it's okay, I'll still support Ryuichi-sensei no matter what~! ^-^
Actually I'm only 17 and I think his work is pure poetry. No one can capture emotions and ideas in a piece like he can. His use of texture and key choices are ingenious. His themes are both simple yet complex. In other words...
How beautiful, How sorrowful I get a feeling of my teenager days, when I listen to this song of Sakamoto ! A friend of me told me that there is another new version of 'Self Portrait' of Ryuichi Sakamoto and I got here now.. Full of sorrow and sentiments, joys and good times with a girl friend when I was 16 or 17 years old !
