@ian400ex1 c he states he wants to add a very powerfull amp like mine and a decent batt, u know what's gonna happen when he doese n he tries and plays he's music at max?? It gonna shutoff he's engine! Cause of all the power the amp uses especially since his stock alternator is on the weaker side I dint need an alt upgrade till I was running 2000 watts
@ian400ex1 so Ian 1000 watts is not bad but those subs take around 2000 to 3000 watts each im giving mine 2,300 each. With all the upgrades I just mentioned. If I didn't read his comment about him wanting to upgrade I wouldn't of tried n help him but since I'm in e know how n I can tell his no expert and for sure neither r u, no insult btw, I decided to help.
@ian400ex1 when that maxes out if we want more power we try to get dual or more alternator kids, when that maxes out if we stll want more power we go with batts ian, u c ian, the lower the voltage drops from ur system the less the percentage of watts ur amp is making.
@ian400ex1 caps do almost nothing!!! Have u ever gone to a bass race and seen some one with 20 caps lol no!!!! We get alternators first asss high output as we can
@ian400ex1 lol ok Ian I have the same subs with 4x the power and a loose mirror doesn't mean his slamming at 1000 watts it's not that loud! And yes I'm giving him advise since his planing on upgrading notice his 11 volts voltage drop at only 1000 watts! That's imberassing in the audio world he has a cap that's not doing nothing
And before batt and even before caps get an alternator! Caps do nothing by the way I'm sure ill agree just look at ur voltage lol any ways alternator at least 220 amps wand ill never drop at least for no 1000watts rms and bat would help but only for a couple of secs at full volume then ill be draining it and back to the beginning so alternator then batt if u upgrade to bout 3000 watts or more cause alt will need help past then
@txhen1 saying caps dont do nothing is kinda silly. they take a initial drain the battery would be seeing and watching the voltage on cap shows that to me when im playing at normal levels. the cap at high volume helps a bit before the battery feels the strain acts a bit as a buffer at max... to each his own though
@damthebadluk There is a misunderstanding of what a capacitor actually does going around here. Sure it might help slightly with voltage stablization, but it actually helps with sound clarity. Caps greatly diminish distortion within the audio frequencies.
@damthebadluk The purpose of a cap is not to stabilize voltage though. Its actually to improve sound quality. It reduces the distortions the amplifier picks up by quite a bit.
And heads up the Memphis is not true rms so it would be less that's true even with the Orion like half of that yeah the warhorse would be good but u would need about $1000k at least in upgrades to power it get the ma audio hk4000 it true rms just trying to help out
Wow so that's 500 wats each????? Wow. Hey get this amp it's a beast ma audio hk4000d that's what I got to power my hccas on their way I'm blowing my 4 12s l7 with this amp now as is lol wow not an easy feat
Thanks for the input. I'm off on a month long hiking trip. just got signal and checked here but can't respond directly. Yeah it does a bit better on voltage when reved up a bit. Got ways to go though still. might get a Memphis 4000 watt amp would love one of those hcca 5000 watt beasts or better yet a kicker warhorse! and a decent battery other than stock. Just have to see what falls into budget got wife and a precious daughter that comes first.
