The section on the DVD that had the commercials on it was labeled "Nick Time Capsule". It was to show what Nickelodeon looked back back in the day. :)

The good ole days!The best shows on Nick (in no particular order)were -- You can't do that on Television, Out of Control, Are you afraid of the dark, Mr. Wizard, Danger Mouse, All that, Roundhouse, Salute Your Shorts,Double Dare,Wild and Crazy Kids, Doug, Ren and Stimpy, and Rugrats.I have a kid now and I don't even let my little girl watch Nick shows except for Drake and Josh, because Nick has horrible children's programming-what in the hell happened? Theres nothing appropriate for kids today

I'll be 64 years old when the time capsul comes back. Personally I feel Nickelodeon, like the Disney Channel was much better pre-1996 when TV was worth running home from school for. And it's not just those two channels that turned sucked now, it's TV in general. TV was better pre-1996, when you can wake up Saturday mornings and there was hours of fun cartoons like Ninja Turtles, Captain Planet, Duck Tales, Super Mario Super Show, Legend Of Zelda, Bugs Bunny And Tweety Show. Good old times.

I too miss the old Nick. I also miss the old Fox Kids Club. They had a few good shows. Mighty Max, Stone Protectors,James Bond Jr.,Lamb Chop. Hey at least Amazon has Doug and Hey Arnold on dvd. oh yeah one more thing, I am tired of these little kids on here trying to pass themselves off as 90's kids when they were born in the 90's. last time I checked you had to grow up through the 90's to be a 90's kid not be born in the 90s

I guess I can count myself lucky that I was born in 1984, getting the best of both the 1980's &1990's. Really, for me, entertainment started dying in 1998--with the promotions of Elmo's World (PBS), Dora (Nick Jr.), Spongebob (though early seasons were good, his popularity alongside the first coming of TeenNick that year killed classic Nick), Z00g Disney (a precursor to what's out now), et al--and got worse as time passed.

I'll be 58 BTW when said capsule is opened.

Agreed. Yes, the quality of Nick has slowly degraded over time. They need to bring back the old shows that used to be on Nick. I remember this commercial used to air on Nick all the time. Either have them run early in the morning, late at night, or make a special channel for them. I would GLADLY pay the extra money for that channel.

@modded2007 Besides... if you were at least, 4-5 even then, you got to absorb pure unaltered 90's Nostalgic Memories and Sensations before it all faltered into the end of Modernity. I mean, right off the bat, by heart, I can name every show I've ever watched-ever. I'd thank my older siblings too, That's how I got exposed before it all died out. We both remember VHS, I'm sure. And the Colour Bars. I may be Younger than you, but I'd might as well had been born in 1987.

My golden age of Nick was made up of Spongebob, which jumped the shark, Danny Phantom, Jimmy Neutron, My Life as a Teenage Robot, which are over with, and The Fairly OddParents which dose not come on enough because of spotlight hogging Spongebob. Again, I really wish I was born in the early nineties, instead of stinkin' 1997. And to the 10 year old, it is very uneducated to cuss. In other words, it makes you sound stupid. I'm 11, and I remember that when I was 3 or 4 years old, I would watch the old Nick shows like CatDog or Hey Arnold! I enjoyed those, even though I was at such a young age. I remember being kind of confused when one day those shows were off the air. Nick is a good example of why I sometimes feel like I should've been born in the early nineties. I've missed soooooo much.

I still like some of the cartoons on Nick, but those are the ones from MY Golden age of nick are over.

I hear ya. I just got there in the middle of the "actually good cartoons" era (the '90s). Ren & Stimpy, Rugrats, Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, hell, pretty much anything on Nick or Cartoon Network was awesome. Nowadays, the only good shit on there is Grim and Mandy. I think rebranding themselves as "hip" and "cool" kind of killed the last shred of originality they had in them, I'm sad to say. Someday, you will be old enough to take solace in Adult Swim. They have kickass bumpers, too.
