  • anyone know what vintage keyboards these guys used?

  • @TheRealCritique Good question! If I'm not mistaken they used quite an array of Synths: Oberheim, Prophet 5 and Prophet 10. Of course Billy Currie had his own customized board that he used on tour with Gary Numan back in 1979.

  • 80'S FOREVER!!!!

  • the best band,the best era.that's it...

  • the boys made fun videos. but i'm not sure i'd be holding on the a stake if midge was the one swinging the sledgehammer. can anyone tell me which one of the guys jumps in the plane near the end of the video? i know it's not midge (he's flat disappear).

  • oh yeah baby. loooove this early MTV stuff. back when Duran Duran was good and the Flock of Seagulls ruled. early 80s was a great period for music.

  • ******

I have seen in times gone by.

I have felt a different shadow on the wall,

A stranglehold on a certain feeling.

  • The best music era ever.

  • One of the things I've always enjoyed about Ultravox videos -- especially from this time period -- is how they were always trying to do something much larger than just selling a tune: trying to be artful, or cinematic, or to tell an intriguing story.

They may not have had the big budget and costumes and directors and such to pull their ideas off with complete success -- but I think that their videos are actually more charming and likable for that: for being "only human" after all.

  • wonderful memories

  • love this band,Midge Ure is a genius

  • They were one of the pioneers of the electronic sound. One of many late 70s early 80s bands that took cues from Kraftwerk.

  • I wouldn't call them punk but rather romantic classic like Ferry / Spanda ballet

  • Thank you for this and all of your great music, you were the pioneer of 80's music

  • Here's the 1st chorus for anyone that wants to listen to it repeatedly 01:17

My favorite part starts at 02:16 and runs to the end of the track.

  • And my favorite part is when he repeats "Take my hand, take my hand.." from 0:54 to 1:18. It's so soft and beautiful, like an invitation for journey to the land of magic. :)

  • It is indeed. I love this song!
