Actually, Darwin's theories were attacked because they had a direct influence on Herbert Spencer, who was basically the chief inspiration of the Eugenics movement, and later the Nazi's racist ideology. Darwin himself was likely massively opposed to a lot of what Spencer's viewpoints led to, and I don't think you can throw him under the bus for that, but his ideas did have negative consequences in the political realm, though they were invaluable in the field of biology.
I should probably further note that Spencer's sociological viewpoints were in great contradiction with his so-called Libertarian politics, something that was fairly common in classical liberal circles. John Stuart Mill is regarded as a saint by many liberal minded thinkers, but he essentially made a lot of Karl Marx's nonsense possible as well.

I've personally researched the material in Zeitgeist and I've found even the religion part to be true. Zeitgeist does give you the similiarities but they stretch them to make them sound better than they actually are.
I'll concede that Zeitgeist does sort of paint some facts with a broad brush and color things up a bit than what they are. However, even if the religion section of Zeitgeist is 100% pure bullshit (which it isn't), it still makes 10x more sense than the religions themselves. Because we all should know by now, that most of any religion is made up of pure bullshit. If a person goes to say religion is bullshit but uses unreliable means of explaining why, they're still right that it's bullshit.

Actually, Darwin's theories were attacked because they had a direct influence on Herbert Spencer, who was basically the chief inspiration of the Eugenics movement, and later the Nazi's racist ideology. Darwin himself was likely massively opposed to a lot of what Spencer's viewpoints led to, and I don't think you can throw him under the bus for that, but his ideas did have negative consequences in the political realm, though they were invaluable in the field of biology.

I should probably further note that Spencer's sociological viewpoints were in great contradiction with his so-called Libertarian politics, something that was fairly common in classical liberal circles. John Stuart Mill is regarded as a saint by many liberal minded thinkers, but he essentially made a lot of Karl Marx's nonsense possible as well.

I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water. Think of the Roman Catholic priests and nuns, who were very politically involved in Central America. Many of the were killed trying to help the people. I think religion can be a powerful force. I often wonder if I'd rather be a happy believer, or a depressed disbeliever. I believe in respect for everyone's beliefs, but in some countries religion is rammed down our throats. They end up controlling the government.

I agree. If people knew the history of the Roman Catholic Church, they would see how arbitrary some of the decisions of belief were. Often, economically motivated factions would use issues of dogma as weapons. 2 individuals vieing for control would have to take opposite sides on issues so that common people would not know what was really, ($), being fought over.

I believe it's the opposite. Alex Jones speaks a lot of truth but it's not all the truth. The late William Cooper was interviewed by Alex Jones after which cooper slammed Alex as a scaremonger. You can download a torrent for an old William Cooper broadcasts featuring a large segment from the Alex Jones show quite old maybe like 1999 and it was a very similar setup to today and was full of ludicrous information. Weather cooper had the right info I don't know, but It's clear Alex isn't pushing it.

it could be people from other religions, liking how christianity is being shown to be a joke, or perhaps even deists who don't like religion (who many of the founding fathers of the USA were by the way). how silly you theists are regarding atheists...you apparently know very little about them and how simple their concept is. there really isn't any videos that disprove atheism so I'm not sure what you're talking about there

For example: Many people claim that Horus was not born of the virgin. But you see Christians are applying their own definitions to the word Virgin in an attempt to prove that Horus was not born of a virgin. If you go with Christian definitions of the word virgin then clearly Horus is not born of a virgin, but he still had a miraculous birth (Isis got pregnanted without the help of Semen)

I've personally researched the material in Zeitgeist and I've found even the religion part to be true. Zeitgeist does give you the similiarities but they stretch them to make them sound better than they actually are.

I'll concede that Zeitgeist does sort of paint some facts with a broad brush and color things up a bit than what they are. However, even if the religion section of Zeitgeist is 100% pure bullshit (which it isn't), it still makes 10x more sense than the religions themselves. Because we all should know by now, that most of any religion is made up of pure bullshit. If a person goes to say religion is bullshit but uses unreliable means of explaining why, they're still right that it's bullshit.

Unfortunately ZG exposes only Christianity (a bit). Islam is is linked to pre-Christian Lunar-Venus cults, and Judaism has to do with Saturn cults (hence the Sabbath celebration). It's a pity that the 'chosen people' rubbish is not exposed, though. It'd do much good to humankind.

Look, I couldn't care less about "Zion". If Abraham story is true, then Isaac was son of Pharaoh and Sarah -"Sarah" means "the Queen" (wife to King). It's also clear that the Biblical David is creative fiction (David & Goliath = copied from much earlier stories ...) I learnt of two cases in which politicians have paid for black magic done on people. Wouldn't be surprised if some of this was true, but I agree, a "Satan worship" is kind of ridiculous, a theory curiously supported by unquestioning Christians.

The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls could change that view, but since 1947 only those approved by the École Biblique/Vatican could access the scrolls.
