  • What I would like to know is if and how the second clown graduated from Stockholm University as he claims.

  • Comment removed

  • facepalm

  • I'm guessing this brain surgeon stared directly at the sun during the solar eclipse that's why his eyes are so effed up.

  • Its pretty Ironic that he said no scientist has succeded in understanding how the eye works while he is wearing glasses..

  • @slicingwater

    lol!

  • i am a muslim and proud of it and i can ganrtuee you that no where in the qurand or the authintic hadith dose it say the earth is flat i challenge anyone who says otherwise to provide proof .

  • This guy is an Arab and he does not agree with you!

  • @zodiak121 It says in Sura 79:30 says "and after that He spread the Earth." from the Pickthall translation. The Yusafali and Shakir translations say the same thing.

  • @slicingwater I speak arbic and i read the arabic and the english translation of the quran to spread the earth dosent mean it is flat im looking for F-A-L-T flat to spread it is also right cause when u walk do u fell your walkin on a ball or on a spread ground anyway the Quran also says that the earth is shaped like an ostrich egg Verse 79:30 in arabic والارض بعد ذلك دحاها the word used is dahah comming fromthe arabic word دحية meaning an ostrich egg . the earth is not a perfect ball .

  • @zodiak121 Yeah there are other verses saying Allah, spread the earth so that cows could graze on it. I don't think they were talking about an egg and if they were they were going against the greek concept of the shape of the Earth. No the Earth is not a perfect sphere, but neither is it egg shaped either way. Why don't you give it a rest, there are no scientific theories in that outdated book.

  • @zodiak121 Think harder mate.

  • Nonsense. If you dont want to believe in Quran DO NOT believe STAY AWAY... What if its the word of God, why do you take the risk of rejecting it in *ignorance* NOWHERE it says that the earth if flat.. Knowledge of the Earth and the solar system was well known amongst educated people of even before the 5th century.

  • oh boy is this muslim ever smart!!!!! - gotta love koranic science!!!!hahahahhah

  • No way! This isn't real dude. Come on. There is no way in this day and age that anyone, even a mental midget would say the sun circles the earth and is SMALLER than the earth. Is this a spoof on BBC or something?

  • Nope! Sadly this is real.

  • Unbelieveable, isn't it??

  • well, like the guy says....its in the quran.

  • if this is what passes for an intellectual debate in the middle east....we should build a damn big wall between them and us.

  • On the contrary I believe such people should be educated. Stupidity does not discriminate based of geographical boundaries, evangelical preachers are no less dumber than these guys.

  • I don't know who is freakier, the first guy who is just ignorant and stubborn or the second who just pulls stuff out of his ass...

  • Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whats even funnier is the functional illiterates in the comments section who are trying to defend this drug fueled retarded garbage!!!!!!!!!!

  • you have to listen to sumtn older then yu thats wat this whole thing is about anywere yu look an older thing has more experience which meens whatever yu think i believ in god but yu should listen to your heart

  • Have you, the CHRISTIAN, even read your own Bible? Matthew 4:8 CLEARLY states that the Earth is F-L-A-T and The Quran doesn't state it even ONCE!

    PEACE!

  • Bible is just as wrong as the Quran. Both are NOT the word of God. Even a high school science text book doesn't struggle to clearly explain the CORRECT shape of the earth and has more KNOWLEDGE than both of these 'religious scriptures' combined!

  • Say what you will about the Bible but The Quran is correct! It IS the word of God. There is not even ONE scientific error in The Quran and I challenge you to PROVE otherwise! ALSO = IF The Quran is NOT the word of God then what is?????

  • Does there HAVE to be a word of God?

  • Why, would God not be able to communicate?

  • What makes you so sure of his existence and if he actually exists why would he NEED to communicate?

  • He does not NEED to communicate. However, he CAN do, if he so wishes.

  • Being God (if he actually does exist!) he could communicate if he so wished. Though I would presume he would do so in a manner that would not be open to interpretation, twisting of the meaning of words for accuracy purposes and all in all would be of a standard that would be undisputable as being of divine origin. Unfortunately the Quran, Bible and all other religious scriptures do not fall in this category...if they did we would not be having this difference of opinion!!!

  • God exists. If you disagree that is your choice. That's the beauty of free will. We both know wat The Quran says. You choose to side with the critics of Islam. That, too, is your choice. I can only advise you to make the right choice, I can't force you.

  • The existence of God is your faith without evidence. My rejection of ALL religions is based on empirical evidence. There is subtle difference. Freewill cannot exist if God is omniscient. In Sura Al-Bakarah Allah says that he has placed a block on the disbelievers heart so they would never see the 'truth'. In that case God is MAKING me not see the truth and hence has no right to judge me. There is also the little issue of Divine Decree that is contradictory to freewill...

  • It's IMpossible that EVERYTHING is an accident. There's NO evidence that PROVES there's NO God. I have faith in Allah who has proven his self with evidence over and over again. There's NO evidence to suggest that you MUST reject ALL religions. The mere fact that you CHOOSE to be a Non-Muslim and I CHOOSE to be a Muslim PROVES free will. You CHOSE to be a "disbeliever" -he didn't FORCE you to! Divine Decree is knowledge of what will happen to you. Its STILL up to you how you REACT to life events.

  • I agree with you that there is No evidence to prove the non-existence of God. However I would like to correct you that there is NO evidence to prove the existence of God either!

Divine Decree takes away freewill: eg God has knowledge I would commit a particular sin. Not according to freewill it should be my choice to commit it or not, however God's knowledge essentially MAKES me commit it. Because if I don't then I would prove God wrong... Its fairly simple if look at it without religious bias!

  • There's evidence to prove the existence of God EVERYWHERE ,actually!

As previously mentioned, it's IMpossible that EVERYTHING is an accident.

God knows what will happen to you before it happens to you. He even knows how you'll react. He does't FORCE you to react in a particular way, though, so it IS free will.

You DO have a religious bias = youre biased AGAINST religion!

  • No there isnt any evidence for the existence of God! If you believe that everything happened by accident then you are just displaying your ignorance...just like you have failed to understand the complication of freewill to co-exist with omniscience!

  • I can see that you dont realy understeand "Divine Decree",if you are interested let me know and I will send you explanation of it thru E-MAIL and after that tell me your opinion. You should understeand something first before you reject it.

  • Let me see...

The quran sais, the earth is "spread out".

So lets look into the islamic tasfirs, what "spread out" means: "god spread out the world, made it FLAT".

That's the explanation of islamic scolars, not mine ;-).

  • REALLY! WHERE does it say that?????

  • Yes, really. Go to altafsir com, and look up the tafsir for Sura 79/30. It reads:

"and after that He spread out the earth: He made it flat, for it had been created before the heaven, but without having been spread out;"

  • That is the Tafsir of ONE man, called Al Jalalayn. That is NOT what is says in The Quran itself, though.

  • I showed you the tafsir, because you asked for it.

The quran itself just sais "spread out". It doesn't explicitely say "flat" - just "spread out". Have you ever spread out a ball?

  • You showed me ONE Tafsir, NOT ALL.

The Quran doesn't say "spread out". SOME Translators HAVE written this but others have written "egg shaped".

The Quran does NOT say that The Earth is flat, REGARDLESS of what the translators or Tafsir authors have written.

  • the problem is, that the egg-shaped"-translation is not correct. it is just wishful thinking. Actually this translation tries to correct an obvious error - changing the meaning of "spread out" into the complete opposite.

  • Really? Are you an expert in Arabic?

  • I have lots of friends, that speak arabic. The whole "egg-shaped" translation is a lie, and nothing more.

For 1400 Years this word meant "spread out". And then, eventually somebody said "well, this word is similar to another word with the root "egg" - maybe we could translate it as "egg-shaped", to make the quran look more correct ;-)". In this way, the quran is being modified, although the words are still the same ;-).

  • I have friends who are doctors - that doesn't make me an expert in medicine! ;-) The whole "egg - shaped" translation is based on the Arabic word used = "dahaha" -which CAN mean egg shaped! ;-) So, what religion do YOU follow?

  • Uh, no it doesn't. Where? Don't you even know your own scholars say flat? Check Ibn Kathir and Al Jalalayn explanations on sura 79 verse 30. They are YOUR OFFICIAL explanations. You HAVE to believe them, not what you like. They NEVER use the words "egg" or "shape".

Incidently, if the world was round, then you wouldn't have to pray in one direction to Mecca. On a sphere, you can pray in 4. Ask any muslim how they know where to turn to pray. First thing they do is open up a FLAT MAP!

  • The Quran is written in Arabic and the Arabic word used is "dahaha" which DOES stem from the root word for egg REGARDLESS of what websites such as answeringislam say!

What are YOU trying to say raith? That the Earth is flat?

  • The word 'dahaha' does not stem from the word egg but the 'place where an ostrich lays an egg'! As an ostrich does not have a nest it FLATTENS the ground before laying an egg! More lies from religious scholars. One verse that could be twisted to imply that the earth is round does not account for the many verse that imply the earth is flat! Either way the Earth is NOT egg shaped! The very comparison is erroneous at best and silly at worst.

  • Kakamana is correct. The ostrich egg "translation" is poor. It simply DOESN'T mean egg. If the Quran wanted to say egg, then it would just say "EGG". Does it say egg? NO.

The guy in the video says flat, Quranic translations say flat, Quranic scholars say flat.

Honestly, you're only fooling yourself. Look up what the word MEANS, not what you would LIKE it to mean...to spread, spread out, specificaly in 2 dimensions, ie. FLAT.

Find me an OFFICIAL translation that says EGG OR round please.

  • Making up what lies? Show me which translation uses the word Ostrich Egg. If the word MEANS Ostrich Egg, why isn't it there then?

As was said before, the word is NOT the egg itself. It describes how an ostrich "spreads out" the ground in order to LAY it's eggs.

The words means SPREAD OUT and that's what the translations say.

Who is right? The translation scholars or you?

Why are you asking me what i'm trying to say? I'm telling you that YOUR book says the earth is flat like a carpet.

  • Raith, show me WHICH translation says that The Earth is Flat, PLEASE!

  • The earth is spread out like a carpet.

The Qur'an 20:53, talks of God who has, "...made the earth for you like a carpet spread out..." (see also 71:19). This could hardly be a clearer way of describing the earth as flat. The Qur'an repeatedly refers to how the earth is "wide" or "spread out" (Qur'an 13:3; 15:19; 18:7; 19:6; 21:30; 35:40; 41:10; 43:10; 50:7; 51:48; 55:10; 78:6; 79:30; 88:20), which is not the language used to describe a round sphere.

  • Why ask me, a Christian, this question? Did you watch the video? This guy is a muslim. He speaks Arabic. He knows the Quran, and he ALSO says it's flat. So, why don't you ask him?

I already said it means SPREAD OUT. Translations don't use flat. You want to see the letters F-L-A-T or else you're not convinced. VERY weak argument.

The translation says the earth is spread out like a carpet. That refers to ONLY ONE shape. It's comical to take the position that spread carpets AREN'T flat.

  • Well this 'Scholar' must have missed that bit! lol!

  • Either that or they left out the rest of what he said! Lol! Didn't you notice how bad the editing job was?

  • He is CLEARLY arguing that according to the Quran the earth is flat!!! Based on evidence from a verse FROM the Quran!!! Now what bit of that did you not understand? The only thing worse than a delusional creationist is a jaded delusional creationist.

  • He can say what he likes! It's NOT gonna change what's in The Quran!

  • Hmmm, he is ACTUALLY quoting from the Quran! Your in denial son!

  • Really! PLEASE show me WHICH chapter / verse of The Quran says the Earth is flat!

  • Are you blind? CAN YOU NOT SEE THE VIDEO???

  • "No verse in the koran indicates that the Earth is round or it rotates" Yet the Earth is round & it does rotate, I think I detect a flaw in his "koranic science" IT DOES NOT EXIST.

  • Kawakama, another superb video! 5 stars! Watching these guys debate the disappearance of ships over the horizon is like watching a debate from the 15th century -- exactly the same arguments were being made back then. It's such a shame that science from the Middle East -- that was once centuries ahead of Europe -- has fallen into such a sad decline because of religious dogma.

  • I'm glad you found these absolute gems, potholer54. Big thumbs-up to kakamana1000 for them.

A moment of pure fantasy would be to see that old fellow take on VenomFangX. Or, how about Hovind et Ham vs Bucaille et Naik?

  • i am a muslim and this guy is definitely wrong! the Qur'an says the earth isn't round, but "egg shape", the word "egg" is refering to the egg of an austrich which is slightly flattened on the pole.... like earth ! NEVER EVER IN THE QUR'AN IT SAYS THE EARTH IS FLAT!

i wudve loved to see the video without interruptions!!!

  • The guy in the video does not agree with you, and he provides the verses from the Holy Quran! And what's more he is a muslim too!

  • that guy is an idiot... I DONT KNOW WHY THSES PEOPE...use the quran as a profe to what they say...and im sure like damn sure that the quran says nothing about that the earth is flat....OMG

  • The guy in the video is also "sure like damn sure that the quran says earth is flat" - he has quoted the specific verse and also he is an Arab who understands Arabic, so he can't be accused of twisting the words of the Quran!

  • "So far, no doctor has succeeded in understanding how the eye works", holy crap this guy wants to believe his precious book so badly.

"No verse in the Koran indicates that the Earth is round or that it rotates", at least he knows what his holy book actually says.

And the second guy was talking utter bs about science. I sure am glad that I don´t live in a country where you could see crap like that on TV.
