It is sad to know that the thing they have been fighting for is taken for granted. We may see what they've done for us as a small thing; however, we just don't realize that they've dedicated their lives for this cause.
I bow to the guys who gave their life in ww1. But you guys wrongly say when it started. You love your country, but the love wasnt felt in Britain as you watched us suffer until 1917 till u got a passenger liner sunk that you actually changed your view. Its a disgrace that you guys held off so called country of liberty. Bullshit. country of wheres the oil? I hate these memorials - your guys died belately for oil, or nationaly for more oil.
For years I've had a standing offer of $1,000 for someone to show me where the US Constitution says there shall be a "separation of church and state". I don't bet unless I've won the bet alrady it. To date no one can show me where it says that. A liberal Supreme Court misinterperted the Constitution based on 1 letter by Jefferson in the Federalist Papers. It's way past time we top catering to the fluff of the lunatic fringe and tell them to go screw themselves.
If the people that first put it up thought them might offend someone they wouldnt have out it up in the first place. It seems to me, folks simply cannot handle the idea we can live in the same area without stepping on each other Have people in this country become so numb to the idea we had to do things that might have hurt someone's feelings to make sure we have the rights we do. I mean if those christian things are so foul then you can also do without the freedoms that came as a result of them.
At the time of the execution of Jesus, the Romans did not yet use crosses, but nailed people to single tree trunks, like pikes. the nails could not have been put through his hands because the flesh and bone there is too weak to support that weight and in the bible it says there is a moment that Jesus was made entirely human and separate from god so there could be nothing supernatural about the mechanics of the crucifixion. it was a tree trunk pole. there are many of those everywhere.
what about your water rights? what about your food being patented? what about your sons and daughters being sucked into privatized corporate industrial military and prison systems? only to be churned out sick dead or addicted? these people dont care about the right things.
That WHITE CROSS is on INDIAN LAND. It is a desecration of the memory of the real patriots and people of this land. War should never be glorified, especially in the insulting of others. War does not keep the USA free.
Aren't all memorials on public land? These gys risked their lives, som came back mained, some didn't - come back at all - so they put up a memorial. That the symbol they used, purportedly because it casts a neat war symbol (doughboy) on the rock, was clever & that it wasn't a major controversy shows how far we have come in LOSING rights. That this memorial was taken down as 'unconstitutionally placed' disgraces the fallen heroes this honored & those who meant it for US to remember them. IRONIC
@TheShodan2004 ~ It is already down. A Veteran removed it because it was found to be unconstitutionally placed and he felt upset about it. There is really no putting it back up at this point. You can read his letter online. Just Google 'Mojave cross letter'. It is on several websites. Now
I am not sure how I came across this but I am glad I did. There are crosses all over highways representing those that have lost their lives over car accidents. Why no fuss over that? The highway between Laughlin Nv. and Las Vegas Nv. has posted signs representing at least five wars every half to a mile apart although they are not crosses, but they still stand for the same thing. Perhaps adding a bronze sign like that of an historian landmark may smooth things over. I wish you all the very best
It was a Veteran that took it down this whole thing is a lie. I live out here and Sherry Marquez is an utterly uneducated Extremist as well as a person that has NO respect for the constitution! Out to smear a good vet with her dishonorable actions. Don't worry the vet that did it wrote a letter explaining why he did it and it was out of respect and honer for our secular nation.
@msqared80 If you want to honor a secular nation there a great many others to choose from. This country became the most prosperous in the world because of its Christian heritage. Now that it is becoming hyper-secularized, everything is turning to pure shit.
I think that everyone is entitled to their opinions but when it effects those that have made the biggest sacrifices to give us all freedoms that had they not made this world and all that are on it and a part of it will forever owe a debt of gratitude. There is not one single person in this world that can say they have not been effected by war even in times of peace. I would say be careful if your offended by this so important symbol because might Hitler, or some other person come to power ?
@darceymiddleton Hitler was a Christian and only followed the genocidal example set forth for him in the bible. Not EVERYONE has imaginary friends. I am so glad the Veteran ripped out this disgraceful symbol of terror that has entrapped this earth in fear for so long!
@spectre324@spectre324@spectre324 He was Catholic then Protestant Silly Head, it is called HISTORY try learning some. lol ;-D ~ Hitler often praised Christian heritage, German Christian culture, and professed a belief in an Aryan Jesus Christ, a Jesus who fought against the Jews. In his speeches and publications. "As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice."
@msqared80 wow, youre completely off... I've actually read the book,"Hitler's Secret Conversations" and you couldnt be more wrong. He completely rejected the idea of Christianity. He believed in a supreme race remember? like speeding up natural selection, or evolution.
also, how many people do you know are entrapped by terror every time the see a cross? i think the word for that is CONVICTION.
@msqared80 Christ called for genocide? You have no mind at all! If it weren't for the prosperity and greatness of this country you would be immediately killed off by the forces of natural selection.
@Soothfish ~ Luke : 19:27 "But those mine enemies which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."~John 15:6 "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (A quote from Jesus, that was used for centuries to justify burning our predecessors at the stake for refusing to believe.) I can only speculate here, but have you ever READ that horrific book?
@msqared80 all of that is undeniably metaphoric.Well...undeniable to anyone who doesn't have a chip on her shoulder. Jesus never killed anyone period. He said that he came to save men from death and he refused to raise his hand against the people who tortured and killed him.
I'm not a Christian so I can't pray for you. It would appear that you are one seriously deranged person.
@msqared80 If you want to impress me with your 'secular wisdom' then write some quotes from the Mad Moe. Until then you are just an angry spoiled brat who hates this country and its heritage.
A religious symbol does not represent ALL the war dead, many of whom were not Christian but died for the same reasons as all the other soldiers. Better to have a memorial that commemorates ALL of the war dead & not just those who were Christian.
@mmedefarge sure just build a communist sickle and hammer to honor the collective...
yes I'm being facetious. How the fuck is a cross so offensive to people? It's about a religious figure of pure love who never hurt anyone. Maybe these soldiers died for nothing. This country is chock full of lunatics!
@Soothfish There are plenty of war memorials without crosses. Many people find crosses offensive; not everyone is a Christian. Would you like a Star of David or the Muslim moon & star over your grave or perhaps you'd like a Hindu Third Eye? Most of the American soldiers of WWI were drafted, they didn't have a choice. It was either go to Europe & fight or go to the brig. Whether they died for nothing or not, they deserve a memorial for ALL of them, not just the Christians.
@Soothfish As this country becomes more diverse & religion slips more & more into the background, having someone's religion foisted on you, like it or not, is less tolerated.
@mmedefarge I would suggest to all of them that they visit a Muslim country and then whine about "religion foisted on [them]". Or visit a communist country and talk about freedom. See if they make it back alive. They don't realize how good they have it here!
@Soothfish We have freedom of speech & freedom or religion but there is a SEPARATION of church & state here which is what makes this country great. Places which do not have separation of church & state wind-up similar to parts of Britain & Northern Ireland or worse, like most Muslim countries. Our separation of church & state is what has made it possible for many people of many religions or no religion at all, to get along peaceably; it is one of our strengths.
@mmedefarge I don't think you understand what "separation of church and state" actually means. It means that there can be no official state religion like the type that resulted in the Spanish inquisition. Placing a cross in the middle of the fucking Mojave desert does nothing to hurt anybody. Banning the public expression of religion, any religion, is a direct violation of the constitution and is basically soviet style oppression.
@mmedefarge so make another memorial. This was constructed by veterans themselves, just because our views today don't agree with what that symbol has become to us, it would be more disrespectful NOT to respect their actions. they risked & some gave their lives so we could have free expression. this was not constructed in hte, but in memorium to those fallen heroes. I think covering it is also offensive. So sad, this memorial is being twisted, just as are the freedoms our elders fought for ~Peace
@Scarlet0Darkstar The gov't could sell the backers of the memorial the land for a dollar, which would make it a private memorial to all the Christian vets who died in WWI.
@mmedefarge That would have been a great positive solution! if the gov wanted amenable compromise. One point, as I understand it, is that it was not only for Christian vets who died, it was constructed by and for all, & didn't offend anyone -until recently. I wonder when began this focus to take away expression and brainwash people to ignore even support eroding freedoms? Did you see what happened that they closed the Jefferson memorial today & arrested some people for DANCING?
@Scarlet0Darkstar A cross is a VERY Christian symbol & DOES NOT INCLUDE any other religion. Why do many Christians think that at cross is somehow a "generic" symbol? No other religion includes a god crucified on a cross, a typically Roman form of execution.
SAVE THE CROSS. ALL OF YOU GUYS WHO ARE AGAINST THIS, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELFS. IT MAKES ME SICK TO HEAR THESE COMMENTS. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND HELP YOU TO OPEN YOUR EYES.
@Renegade23456 It was a Veteran that took it down this whole thing is a lie. I live out here and Sherry Marquez is an utterly uneducated Extremist as well as a person that has NO respect for the constitution! Out to smear a good vet with her dishonorable actions. Don't worry the vet that did it wrote a letter explaining why he did it and it was out of respect and honer for our secular nation.
blah blah blah religion blah blah blah jesus blah blah blah hate ACLU until you need them...
How is this spitting in their face? How you hypocrites react if we put status for Islam on federal land...I happen to know two Muslims who fought and were injured in Afghanistan while serving in with Marines.
That's quite some propaganda you jesus freaks got there!
Churchianity makes me Sick to my stomach- good place for cockroaches. I'm a Vet and don't care to associate for the most part with Americas Heros; much less the VA. But this kind of Stuff- what is the Problem? To make an issue out of nothing. ACLU is a pile of Shit; or so it seems to me. They will defend the moslems and that sharia law (phonetic guestimate) . This Country is in serious trouble.
Why would any organization, even the ACLU, want to tear down such sacred memorial? That doesn't make sense. Whether we agree with our country's leaders as to why we go to war or not, we need to honour our veterans and soldiers and keep the memorial up where it is. It's not hurting anyone or anything. If that one person doesn't like it, don't look at it! Simple as that. But don't demand that other people tear it or any memorial down. That's just wrong! Support our troops. Support our veterans.
ACLU lost me yesterday, but my serious reservations about them began with their vicious attack on our national heroes.
Now, ACLU works with EFF to restrict US law enforcement's ability to work with international LE to fight international online human trafficking. ACLU and EFF are stirring up debate on free speech and internet privacy to protect their internet corporate interests, while the REAL ISSUE is an online, international criminal crisis of human trafficking.
as a US ARMY Vet. and as a person whom has lived in the mojave desert I say leave the cross alone i spent a many a nites out there doing alot of sole searching what is wrong with all of these stupid people do they hate their freedom that much that they have to spit on a memorial for VETERANS
Crosses on public property?? Hmmmm....what about ARLINGTON CEMETERY?? Are they going to demand that those crosses be taken down as well?? What a shame to do this! What a slap in the face of our brave men and women in uniform!
Crosses on public property?? Hmmmm....what about ARLINGTON CEMETERY?? Are they going to demand that those crosses be taken down as well?? What a shame to do this! What a slap in the face of our brave men and women in uniform!
Let the vets have there cross...fuck the judge you don't have to be Guinness to know a stupid judge or a bunch of political num nutss have the say over the vets.its just all a bunch of bull shit.............man....
I was absolutely disgusted when I saw this. I am Australian and have never been to America, but to remove memorials like this anywhere is simply turning your back on what the memorial stands for. Obviously this is not about the cross at all, but ownership of land. These soldiers would have been various religions and came from the american public and fought for the American public and the public should respect that regardless of religion. Let the cross stand proud!
There are many people of different religions other than Christianity that fought for our country. The cross demeans their contribution. They fought for their right to believe what was in their heart and not for the dogma of someone else's faith. Put the cross up on private property not on America's public property.
@MJPICKify The building of the Cultural Center is planned for private property. The Cross was erected on public land, owned by all of us, many who do not believe in Christianity.
@MJPICKify The Moslems wanting to build the center are not at fault for the evil perpetuated by theocratic radicals. Theocratic radicals exist in all faiths. If it weren’t for the fact that I am a pacifist…I would take Reverend Fred Phelps, Yigal Amir (the orthodox Jew that killed Prime Minister Rabin) and Bin Ladin and turn them over to…. But I will not do what my enemy does because if I do he wins!
@MJPICKify Most people I know want peace and respect and we have to open our vision some to see things from multiple directions so that understanding comes into play rather than emotion. The cultural center should be build because American fairness should not be violated. The cultural center should be build because viewing it with an open mind and heart will make it be seen as a bridge to peace not a poke in the eye.
@MJPICKify It also seems to me that there shouldn't be a side. We are a people of many faiths that was attacked by evil demented beings, period. The Imam behind the building of the cultural center is and has been used by our government to forge bridges to those of his faith that are suspicious of our hegemony.
@MJPICKify The more I read about this the more it is clear that people are running on misguided emotion being stirred for political reasons. Sensitivity is the word being used a lot. There were Moslems killed in the tower also. All the Moslems I know condemn violence and shouldn’t be punished for the heinous acts of people claiming to be of the same faith but who really are not. It seems that sensitivity is being demanded by one side and being denied to the other.
its Flag Day .thank all of the great men and women in our armed forces past and present who stand and fight against tyranny ,so that we may be free in this the best country on the planet.Love it or leave.
The private citizen who installed that cross on federal land did so illegally. To call that inappropriate piece of proselytism a war memorial is an insult to all American soldiers who gave their lives and were neither Freemasons nor Christians.
Maya Lin's Vietnam War memorial, however, does honor to the memory of everyone who served in that war--whether Buddhist, Muslim (yes we had Muslims!), Jewish, Native American, atheist, agnostic, or Neo-Pagan.
Until City and State officials decided to trash it, Lansing, Michigan had a beautiful memorial dedicated to our war dead. Type into search: lansing civic center and veterans memorial building part 3......................................and see how they (public officials) honored their war dead! By the way, freemarketfoundation, thank you so much for posting this important video.
@mymojorisin or idiot for short.. By the way,, hire the aclu while your at it too. Yous are perfect bed mates. How America lets poison and toxic people like you and your friends like the aclu stay is beyond me, this country is FAR to good for yous. You need to be in a third world country for some time to see just how good you HAD it here.
mymojoorisin I have never in my life seen a baby as little as you. A liberal who sure loves to dish it out but when the fire gets hot,, you want the cops.. A coward if there ever was. Make your rounds talking trash against our Troops,, our nation and expect no one to stand up to you. God forbid when they do. Baby runs to the law,, typical extreme liberal. Now go play your donkeykong games baby. By the way, call them again - I could careless idiot. WAAAA
"Destroy all religions! Don't just take down the cross, destroy it and spread its remains in the lowest depths of the ocean! We must remove religion from every aspect of life!" Better yet,, How about the REAL Americans help you pack your bags so you can ship out of this nation you want to destroy. MORALS - YOU have none. Looks like you never will either homer
Destroy all religions! Don't just take down the cross, destroy it and spread its remains in the lowest depths of the ocean! We must remove religion from every aspect of life!
Our veterans have served to protect us and our country, why destroy a memorial of theirs? Who is it hurting by having it there? I feel that if it bothers you so much by having it there maybe you should leave this country and don't come back! I am a proud American and will always support out service men and women!
"At Home With American Veterans" is a tribute to veterans by showcasing thier lives in a national talkshow that has been presented to Oprah and Mark Burnett of Survivor fame. Please help by going to myown.oprah.com/audition/index.html?request=video_details&response_id=2199&promo_id=1 and voting and promoting. American Veterans deserve this show!!
so many other things a cross can stand for other than Christ. A swastika is technically a cross, and it for damn sure doesn't stand for religion. The cross could stand for all of the smaller crosses on veterans graves all over the world. Ancient civilizations sometimes used a cross to symbolize the four elements. The letter X is technically a cross, because it is two lines intersecting.
i think that all the things that was done for all the wars should be left alone and that know one should take it down, just because of all the stuff that was done to all of them when they came home,i wish that every one will leave them alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@sonicfast22 Oh, you poor little victim! It's must be exhausting going around feeling offended all the time by crosses and such. Look: If you don't like living in a Christian nation, then you know what you can do.
@sonicfast22 Oh, stop whining. If you don't like crosses, then move to Israel. Better yet, go to Saudi Arabia where if you don't mind your manners, they'll crucify you.
@sonicfast22 The other day, I saw a pentagram spray-painted on a government monument. A pentagram! I was so offended, I felt dizzy. If it weren't for my stash of smelling salts, I would have fainted dead away. Buy yourself some smelling salts and a pair of blinders. That way you won't have to spend your pathetic life being offended all the time.
@sonicfast22 The cross is not religious. Nowhere does it mention Christ or the Christian faith. A cross can mean a lot more than Christianity. Crosses have been used for centuries as markings for things, particulary death. One example is that in the 5th century BC, tombs at Naqshe e Rustam, Iran, were carved into a cliffside in the shape of a cross. This was centuries before Christianity. So unless the cross specifically has religious depictions on it, it is non religious
@dyad2r1 several of the founding fathers were deists. Thomas Paine, Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin were all conclusively Deists. Washington's religious beliefs falling between Christianity and Deism have been debated for centuries. while it could be accepted as a form of theism, there is an explicit difference when making the case for a Theistic and Deistic God, and association with the word "God" to Christianity is insincere. the Christian dogma is not mentioned in the declaration.
@Beshimi Whether theist, deist or Christian, the founders' beliefs speak for themselves. While the US is NOT a theocracy and is NOT a de jure (by law) "Christian" nation, it IS a de facto one. So what's your point?
@Beshimi Who cares whether they were deists or theists? Those who took part in writing the Declaration of Independence revealed their beliefs in unmistakable terms.
@dyad2r1 yes, they did. and there's a very, very strong difference between deistic and theistic beliefs. especially when it comes to the establishment and government of a nation.
@vozpit This comment doesnt make any sense. It would be the families who would honor their fallen and "put something on the grave" If this man's father is Christian, then yes the family could choose to put a cross over it. (May his father live his days as long as he likes) Why would someone else put something on their grave? I dont know anybody who goes thru graveyards putting things on strangers graves.....thats insane. THAT MUST MEAN THEY LEAVE IT ALONE. INTERESTING CONCEPT!!!!
I did some research on the author of the Treaty of Tripoli, Joel Barlow. This guy seemed a little shady. Mocking patriots. Getting citizenship from France. Even his own fellow New Englanders looked down on him for becoming a political journalist in France AND England. The same country we had just fought against. Hmmmm. Seems like a shady character to me. And this is what the ACLU is banking their argument on????? Wow
A treaty is NOT law, its an agreement between two states(countries). I read the treaty, and if you break Article 11 down (which I am assuming all you ACLU'ers are), all its saying is that this country doesnt have an official religion of Christianity which coincides with the Constitution. Its basically saying we wont attack it just because its a Muslim nation. And remember this is just 1 treaty of many we have. If this was so important to note, those words would have been in the Constitution.
@ridealong4u There are many stories not of theft, but assault occurring because people flaunt their beliefs on bumper stickers. People will actually follow & insult or like I said commit assault on someone because of what's written on their cars. This can be religious, politics, even sports teams. The country is a mess because people can't keep their religions where they belong. At home or in their churches & temples.
@ridealong4u Your logic fails as do your insults. Like I said, anger is your downfall. You're proving me right. And how do I wear yellow colors? I have no fear & at least I show respect for others beliefs, which apparently Christians do not as they want to keep such an insulting display up.
@vozpit As to yellow colors - turncoat.. You and the aclu throw the knife in all Soldiers backs. You's would rather wave a white flag then wave the red white and blue one. Maybe, if you and the aclu had someone in your family who wore a purple heart, you would be more understanding, instead of picket signs.
@ridealong4u Nonsense. Putting an obvious Christian symbol up when a soldier may not be Christian is throwing a knife in their backs & not respecting their beliefs, which they fought for & gave their lives for. You only defend it because it's your belief, not even thinking whether it's the person you're honoring's beliefs. Can you not see that? I doubt it. And do not assume what I have in my family. For all I know your entire family dodged the draft. Not accusing, just saying you don't know.
Here we go again with your insane rants about how everyone is betraying your beloved troops that you are so eager to sacrifice for your imaginary freedom. Just like your god, your freedom is all in your mind. You are a slave to the system that has brain washed your extra small monkey brain
.
Like your boyfriend pastorg22 you have never served a minute of time in the military
.
God = Pure Ignorance = ridealongdick4u
.
oops did I misspell your screen name? Well it suites you better
@mymojorisin Baby,, call the cops PLEASE.. You liberal dirtbag.. I now have two posts coming at you,, hurry call them. Shame on me,, for standing up for this Nation and our Troops, that cowards like you want to talkshit against and destroy.. BRING IT ON COWARD.. I'm here and willing.. Call the cops baby for I know you'd never be man enough to face me.. WAWAWAWAWAWA.. Now change your diaper around your head,,, shits pouring out of your mouth
You are a coward and a pussy that hides behind a false god while sending your fellow Americans to die for corporate profits.
.
I do not care what your fag father did but I do know one thing he should have done and that is pull out while he was fucking your whore mother. That would have spared the world your wrath of ignorance.
.
God = Jesus Christ = Sun = Sun Worship = 1.5 Billion Christian Fools + 1 Con Artist and Coward Named pastorg22
@mymojorisin Don't say you do know one thing, cause that is stretching the truth. We all know you know nothing.. Brain transplants are years away,, so I do hold hope for you. Till the transplant, shut the fuck up.
@mymojorisin By the way you liberal dirtbag,, I'm STILL waiting for those cops you call on me with every post.. WWWAAA,,, call them again cause I posted more truth about you.. Get a job and off welfare,, I'm sick of supporting your lazy ass... Your a punk who likes to dish things out but when the fire gets hot,, the liberal you are,, runs to the cops.... WWWWWAAAAA... Ha ha ha LOL
@pastorg22 You're a "trader" to the English language. No "true America patriot" would fail so hard at communication. You shouldn't say "You a disgrace" to someone who is, while not real clever with his insults, is at least a tiny bit more comprehensible than you are.
@pastorg22 You spelled "American" right this time! Awesome! Maybe you could pass one of those tests for immigrants wanting to get naturalized, after all.
In any case, people who disregard the constitution and the great work of our Deist founding fathers--who wanted never to repeat the crimes of Episcopalian England-- are narrow-minded, anti-American scum.
Many soldiers I know would be disappointed at how you squander the freedom of speech they defended with their lives in such useless drivel.
@pastorg22 I didn't know being a Presbyterian who values our constitution's anti-establishment clause and the strength of a peacefully pluralistic society makes me a "God hating atheist". I am begining to suspect you're a bored 16-year old anarchist kid who hates all organized religion and wants to make Christians look bad.
@UnrepentantSinner WRONG!!!!!!!!! LOL Though the Founding Fathers were not perfect, as none of us are, that is NOT what the First Amendment means. The First Amendment was there to protect us from the gov't establishing an official religion as did the British. They kept there Christian morals but repsected everyone's personal choice of belief, (unlike the ACLU) I dont have to look it up, I have a pocket size pamphlet of the Constitution. The Founding Fathers were geniuses. This country is proof
@rmx01indiana Saying that this is a Christian Nation does in fact establish a religion. And were are not based on Christian Principles either. Google "Treaty of Tripoli" for more information.
@rmx01indiana You're on YouTube, which is own by Google, so yes you do use Google. At any rate the Treaty of Tripoli states that the United States is not a Christian Nation or founded on Christian principles. It passes unanimously by the Senate.
@UnrepentantSinner It doesnt matter some treaty says. A treaty does not change the fundamentals of the Constitution. I dont even have to look it up because the key word here is treaty, which means a formal agreement between 2 states. A treaty doesnt set a foundation for a country. A treaty doesnt override our Constitution. That would be like saying that idiotic World Court supercedes our Supreme Court just because it exists. It doesnt.
@rmx01indiana But the Constitution isn't based on Christian Principles, which is what the Treaty states. And the most important thing about that treaty is when it was made and who signed it into law.
Bravo to the man or men (or women) who took it down. And he did it not for anti-Christian reasons, but because it did not represent all religions of the soldiers who it was a memorial for. Place a proper memorial. One that does not mention religious beliefs at all, but rather honors the men & women for what they did. And if you're against this, you're not thinking logically & are thinking only in hatred against other beliefs. Think before you let the anger take you.
@UnrepentantSinner The fact that 78.4% of the US population are Christians makes it a "de facto" Christian nation. Second warning: You're in danger of losing your posting privileges due to your name-calling and personal attacks.
Its kinds of odd how all these far left, cross stealin', God banning, ACLU lovin', destroy capitalism, destroy the USA, everything is the USA's fault, Al Gore followin', socialism lovin, in the closet communists all say dont watch Glenn Beck. He seems to be pissing off the right people. I'm going to watch everyday now.
This all goes back to their misguided distortion called "seperation of church and state" Those words are NOWHERE in the Constitution. Those words are NOWHERE in the Declaration of Independence. Our founders, who believed in the Republic and capitalism, believed and knew we had GOD given rights. The strategy now is to attack that God even exists so we wont have those God given rights. All to complete their social justice agenda. This is the early stategy of transfoming our free society.
@rmx01indiana You know what else isn't in the constitution. Capitalism. That's right, nowhere in the Constitution can you find the word capitalism. But that's a moot point because this has nothing to do with the economy. And this is not a Christian Nation. Stop watching Glenn Beck.
@UnrepentantSinner Not a Christian nation???? Hmmm kinda funny how the principles of the Constitution go hand in hand with the principles of the Bible. I digress though, because you proved my point about your kinds misguided, distorted interpretations of what this country is. This belief is a poison to our nation. . . . ". . always keep the state out of the church, but never take the church out of the state" ~Thomas Jefferson
@UnrepentantSinner Show me where its ethical to not honor a court decision to leave the cross up!! Show me where its ethical to go steal a monument to honor the deceased! Cowards, all of ya.........
@UnrepentantSinner -- America is DE FACTO a Christian nation If you don't like it, then get the hell out. If you don't know the meaning of "de facto," then look it up.
I mean really, whats next, no more weddings at parks, due to it might offend someone with a Pastor there? The aclu and the blind followers are so toxic, if they'd only think about their actions a bit more, but, I know, thats just asking to much. They sit on their ass just looking for ways to be a bigger ass in life.
Our Government did not establish this Cross, our War Vets did for their Fallen. Funny how the twisted minds of the aclu and alike, turn things around to suit themselves.
To all who are concerned about this: Let us make a law or add it to our constitution that will ban such nonsense from happening any more. Please contact me if you are interested. I have some language and have started to rally people. Please help.
What's wrong with this country, you can't draw a likeness of Mohammad but you can cut down crosses and make cartoons making fun of Jesus and God on Comedy Central. 2
You christians suck. You pretend your war memorials are for the veterans but it is a slap to every Agnostic, Jewish, Muslim etc soldier that ever died for this country. Your cross is gone, your arguments are just piss in the river. When is rapture coming you morons?
@chilich33z Another idiot insulting people. This is from WW I. That means this is from a LONG freakin time ago. THOSE people chose to honor THEIR dead with this. If you dont like what THEY did for THEMSELVES, then thats too bad. We should show respect to those of the past and stop reacting every time some crybaby atheist gets his panties in a bunch, just because he says a cross. Dont like it? Dont look at it
@rmx01indiana Because the cross is a Christian symbol. Crosses only honor the Christian solders, not the Jewish, Atheist, or people of other faiths that fought in world war one.
@UnrepentantSinner Ok again how is that unlawful or establishing a religion?? Apparently the families of the time didnt have a problem with it, why do you?
@rmx01indiana If you put a cross on your lawn, are you not establishing your home as Christian? It's the same for the government. And you don't know what families of the time thought. There could have been some who didn't. But that's a moot point. It is still wrong and needs to be removed.
@rmx01indiana Every national cemetery in the US, including Arlington, has crosses on federal property. UnrepentantSinner has some serious anger issues and should seek counseling.
I just heard the Cross has been stolen.. :( But that won't shake my respect for the people who fought for this country and gave thier lives .The Cross will be back.Whoever stole it, Is surely low life scum.
And after a long hard battle fought to keep the Cross in the Mojave desert was finally won! And now sadly some punk(s) anti-military/anti-American haters decided like thieves in the night to steal the Cross! There are many rumors that Atheist sympathizers stole it! And there were some rumors that the Cross was stolen by those who retaliate for the incident with the 5 students who wore USA flag t-shirts. What every the reason these puke(s) need to be caught ASAP!
It is sad to know that the thing they have been fighting for is taken for granted. We may see what they've done for us as a small thing; however, we just don't realize that they've dedicated their lives for this cause.

I wish you all the very best

msqared80 1 year ago
@msqared80 If you want to honor a secular nation there a great many others to choose from. This country became the most prosperous in the world because of its Christian heritage. Now that it is becoming hyper-secularized, everything is turning to pure shit.
Soothfish 8 months ago
I think that everyone is entitled to their opinions but when it effects those that have made the biggest sacrifices to give us all freedoms that had they not made this world and all that are on it and a part of it will forever owe a debt of gratitude. There is not one single person in this world that can say they have not been effected by war even in times of peace. I would say be careful if your offended by this so important symbol because might Hitler, or some other person come to power ?
darceymiddleton 1 year ago
@darceymiddleton Hitler was a Christian and only followed the genocidal example set forth for him in the bible. Not EVERYONE has imaginary friends. I am so glad the Veteran ripped out this disgraceful symbol of terror that has entrapped this earth in fear for so long!

Please see : an Encyclopedia SOON!

TheOnlySamHunt 11 months ago 2
@msqared80 Christ called for genocide? You have no mind at all! If it weren't for the prosperity and greatness of this country you would be immediately killed off by the forces of natural selection.

@Soothfish ~ Luke : 19:27 "But those mine enemies which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."~John 15:6 "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (A quote from Jesus, that was used for centuries to justify burning our predecessors at the stake for refusing to believe.) I can only speculate here, but have you ever READ that horrific book?
msqared80 8 months ago
@msqared80 all of that is undeniably metaphoric.Well...undeniable to anyone who doesn't have a chip on her shoulder. Jesus never killed anyone period. He said that he came to save men from death and he refused to raise his hand against the people who tortured and killed him.

A religious symbol does not represent ALL the war dead, many of whom were not Christian but died for the same reasons as all the other soldiers. Better to have a memorial that commemorates ALL of the war dead & not just those who were Christian.
mmedefarge 1 year ago 2
@mmedefarge sure just build a communist sickle and hammer to honor the collective...
yes I'm being facetious. How the fuck is a cross so offensive to people? It's about a religious figure of pure love who never hurt anyone. Maybe these soldiers died for nothing. This country is chock full of lunatics!
Soothfish 8 months ago
@Soothfish There are plenty of war memorials without crosses. Many people find crosses offensive; not everyone is a Christian. Would you like a Star of David or the Muslim moon & star over your grave or perhaps you'd like a Hindu Third Eye? Most of the American soldiers of WWI were drafted, they didn't have a choice. It was either go to Europe & fight or go to the brig. Whether they died for nothing or not, they deserve a memorial for ALL of them, not just the Christians.
mmedefarge 8 months ago
@mmedefarge That wasn't my point!
Anyway I'm just sick of the political correctness. That's all. It's destroying the world.
Soothfish 8 months ago
@Soothfish As this country becomes more diverse & religion slips more & more into the background, having someone's religion foisted on you, like it or not, is less tolerated.
mmedefarge 8 months ago
@mmedefarge I would suggest to all of them that they visit a Muslim country and then whine about "religion foisted on [them]". Or visit a communist country and talk about freedom. See if they make it back alive. They don't realize how good they have it here!
Soothfish 8 months ago
@Soothfish We have freedom of speech & freedom or religion but there is a SEPARATION of church & state here which is what makes this country great. Places which do not have separation of church & state wind-up similar to parts of Britain & Northern Ireland or worse, like most Muslim countries. Our separation of church & state is what has made it possible for many people of many religions or no religion at all, to get along peaceably; it is one of our strengths.
mmedefarge 8 months ago
@mmedefarge I don't think you understand what "separation of church and state" actually means. It means that there can be no official state religion like the type that resulted in the Spanish inquisition. Placing a cross in the middle of the fucking Mojave desert does nothing to hurt anybody. Banning the public expression of religion, any religion, is a direct violation of the constitution and is basically soviet style oppression.
Soothfish 8 months ago
@Soothfish It's on public lands; that's the same as espousing a religion. Had it been on private land they'd be no problem.
mmedefarge 8 months ago
@mmedefarge so make another memorial. This was constructed by veterans themselves, just because our views today don't agree with what that symbol has become to us, it would be more disrespectful NOT to respect their actions. they risked & some gave their lives so we could have free expression. this was not constructed in hte, but in memorium to those fallen heroes. I think covering it is also offensive. So sad, this memorial is being twisted, just as are the freedoms our elders fought for ~Peace
Scarlet0Darkstar 8 months ago
@Scarlet0Darkstar The gov't could sell the backers of the memorial the land for a dollar, which would make it a private memorial to all the Christian vets who died in WWI.
mmedefarge 8 months ago
@mmedefarge That would have been a great positive solution! if the gov wanted amenable compromise. One point, as I understand it, is that it was not only for Christian vets who died, it was constructed by and for all, & didn't offend anyone -until recently. I wonder when began this focus to take away expression and brainwash people to ignore even support eroding freedoms? Did you see what happened that they closed the Jefferson memorial today & arrested some people for DANCING?
Scarlet0Darkstar 8 months ago
@Scarlet0Darkstar A cross is a VERY Christian symbol & DOES NOT INCLUDE any other religion. Why do many Christians think that at cross is somehow a "generic" symbol? No other religion includes a god crucified on a cross, a typically Roman form of execution.

@Tremleypt From a legal standpoint, it's a completely two differently.
This law suit is concerned with a religious symbol on government property.
the so-called ground zero mosque, is on private property. And people have the right to put a religious symbol on their property.

Let the cross stand proud!
wimpy1354 1 year ago
There are many people of different religions other than Christianity that fought for our country. The cross demeans their contribution. They fought for their right to believe what was in their heart and not for the dogma of someone else's faith. Put the cross up on private property not on America's public property.
selmanjm1 1 year ago
@selmanjm1 what about a mosque next to ground zero?
MJPICKify 1 year ago
@MJPICKify The building of the Cultural Center is planned for private property. The Cross was erected on public land, owned by all of us, many who do not believe in Christianity.
selmanjm1 1 year ago
@MJPICKify The Moslems wanting to build the center are not at fault for the evil perpetuated by theocratic radicals. Theocratic radicals exist in all faiths. If it weren’t for the fact that I am a pacifist…I would take Reverend Fred Phelps, Yigal Amir (the orthodox Jew that killed Prime Minister Rabin) and Bin Ladin and turn them over to…. But I will not do what my enemy does because if I do he wins!
selmanjm1 1 year ago
@MJPICKify Most people I know want peace and respect and we have to open our vision some to see things from multiple directions so that understanding comes into play rather than emotion. The cultural center should be build because American fairness should not be violated. The cultural center should be build because viewing it with an open mind and heart will make it be seen as a bridge to peace not a poke in the eye.
selmanjm1 1 year ago
@MJPICKify It also seems to me that there shouldn't be a side. We are a people of many faiths that was attacked by evil demented beings, period. The Imam behind the building of the cultural center is and has been used by our government to forge bridges to those of his faith that are suspicious of our hegemony.
selmanjm1 1 year ago
@MJPICKify The more I read about this the more it is clear that people are running on misguided emotion being stirred for political reasons. Sensitivity is the word being used a lot. There were Moslems killed in the tower also. All the Moslems I know condemn violence and shouldn’t be punished for the heinous acts of people claiming to be of the same faith but who really are not. It seems that sensitivity is being demanded by one side and being denied to the other.

The private citizen who installed that cross on federal land did so illegally. To call that inappropriate piece of proselytism a war memorial is an insult to all American soldiers who gave their lives and were neither Freemasons nor Christians.

so many other things a cross can stand for other than Christ. A swastika is technically a cross, and it for damn sure doesn't stand for religion. The cross could stand for all of the smaller crosses on veterans graves all over the world. Ancient civilizations sometimes used a cross to symbolize the four elements. The letter X is technically a cross, because it is two lines intersecting.

sonicfast22 1 year ago
@sonicfast22 The cross is not religious. Nowhere does it mention Christ or the Christian faith. A cross can mean a lot more than Christianity. Crosses have been used for centuries as markings for things, particulary death. One example is that in the 5th century BC, tombs at Naqshe e Rustam, Iran, were carved into a cliffside in the shape of a cross. This was centuries before Christianity. So unless the cross specifically has religious depictions on it, it is non religious
shilohman07 1 year ago
@dyad2r1 several of the founding fathers were deists. Thomas Paine, Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin were all conclusively Deists. Washington's religious beliefs falling between Christianity and Deism have been debated for centuries. while it could be accepted as a form of theism, there is an explicit difference when making the case for a Theistic and Deistic God, and association with the word "God" to Christianity is insincere. the Christian dogma is not mentioned in the declaration.
Beshimi 1 year ago
@Beshimi Whether theist, deist or Christian, the founders' beliefs speak for themselves. While the US is NOT a theocracy and is NOT a de jure (by law) "Christian" nation, it IS a de facto one. So what's your point?

@dyad2r1 my point is that your original sweeping statement saying "our founders were theists" is false. simple enough, no?

@Beshimi Who cares whether they were deists or theists? Those who took part in writing the Declaration of Independence revealed their beliefs in unmistakable terms.

@dyad2r1 yes, they did. and there's a very, very strong difference between deistic and theistic beliefs. especially when it comes to the establishment and government of a nation.

Wow
rmx01indiana 1 year ago

At home or in their churches & temples.
vozpit 1 year ago
@ridealong4u Your logic fails as do your insults. Like I said, anger is your downfall. You're proving me right. And how do I wear yellow colors? I have no fear & at least I show respect for others beliefs, which apparently Christians do not as they want to keep such an insulting display up.
vozpit 1 year ago
@vozpit As to yellow colors - turncoat.. You and the aclu throw the knife in all Soldiers backs. You's would rather wave a white flag then wave the red white and blue one. Maybe, if you and the aclu had someone in your family who wore a purple heart, you would be more understanding, instead of picket signs.
ridealong4u 1 year ago
@ridealong4u Nonsense. Putting an obvious Christian symbol up when a soldier may not be Christian is throwing a knife in their backs & not respecting their beliefs, which they fought for & gave their lives for. You only defend it because it's your belief, not even thinking whether it's the person you're honoring's beliefs. Can you not see that? I doubt it. And do not assume what I have in my family. For all I know your entire family dodged the draft. Not accusing, just saying you don't know.

@mymojorisin Listen you God hating liberal atheist,
you are a turncoat and trader to this nation just as your
mentor John Kerry was and is. As far as military service
my father served in WWII and was a true America patriot
unlike you. Furthermore, By the grace of God I have an
active Ministry that works with wounded warriors and I

@pastorg22 You're a "trader" to the English language. No "true America patriot" would fail so hard at communication. You shouldn't say "You a disgrace" to someone who is, while not real clever with his insults, is at least a tiny bit more comprehensible than you are.

anti-American SCUM!
pastorg22 1 year ago
@pastorg22 You spelled "American" right this time! Awesome! Maybe you could pass one of those tests for immigrants wanting to get naturalized, after all.
In any case, people who disregard the constitution and the great work of our Deist founding fathers--who wanted never to repeat the crimes of Episcopalian England-- are narrow-minded, anti-American scum.
Many soldiers I know would be disappointed at how you squander the freedom of speech they defended with their lives in such useless drivel.
themelonbread 1 year ago
@themelonbread The founding fathers
of America were Bible believing Christians.
I know that a God hating atheist such as yourself
will never acknowledge this.
Stop pretending that you are concerned
about American soldiers. Anti-American
low life scum like you are an abomination
and a disgrace. I am sure that you support
that EVIL organization the ACLU!

@themelonbread What is your position

pastorg22 1 year ago
@vozpit Sorry, but 97.3% of Planet Earth's population adheres to a religion. If you don't like it, maybe you're on the wrong planet.
dyad2r1 1 year ago
@UnrepentantSinner WRONG!!!!!!!!! LOL Though the Founding Fathers were not perfect, as none of us are, that is NOT what the First Amendment means. The First Amendment was there to protect us from the gov't establishing an official religion as did the British. They kept there Christian morals but repsected everyone's personal choice of belief, (unlike the ACLU) I dont have to look it up, I have a pocket size pamphlet of the Constitution. The Founding Fathers were geniuses. This country is proof
rmx01indiana 1 year ago
@rmx01indiana Saying that this is a Christian Nation does in fact establish a religion. And were are not based on Christian Principles either. Google "Treaty of Tripoli" for more information.
UnrepentantSinner 1 year ago
@UnrepentantSinner I dont use Google for ANYTHING! ! ! And I could care less about, what happened in, or what happened to Tripoli
rmx01indiana 1 year ago
@rmx01indiana You're on YouTube, which is own by Google, so yes you do use Google. At any rate the Treaty of Tripoli states that the United States is not a Christian Nation or founded on Christian principles. It passes unanimously by the Senate.
UnrepentantSinner 1 year ago
@UnrepentantSinner It doesnt matter some treaty says. A treaty does not change the fundamentals of the Constitution. I dont even have to look it up because the key word here is treaty, which means a formal agreement between 2 states. A treaty doesnt set a foundation for a country. A treaty doesnt override our Constitution. That would be like saying that idiotic World Court supercedes our Supreme Court just because it exists. It doesnt.
rmx01indiana 1 year ago
@rmx01indiana But the Constitution isn't based on Christian Principles, which is what the Treaty states. And the most important thing about that treaty is when it was made and who signed it into law.
UnrepentantSinner 1 year ago
but we never signed a treaty with the U.N. saying that we adhere to the ICC. And we never will.
CorranHorn100 1 year ago
Bravo to the man or men (or women) who took it down. And he did it not for anti-Christian reasons, but because it did not represent all religions of the soldiers who it was a memorial for. Place a proper memorial. One that does not mention religious beliefs at all, but rather honors the men & women for what they did. And if you're against this, you're not thinking logically & are thinking only in hatred against other beliefs. Think before you let the anger take you.
vozpit 1 year ago
@vozpit This is from two generations ago. They chose what they chose. Its not our place to say they were wrong. You are wrong for praising theft.

rmx01indiana 1 year ago
@UnrepentantSinner The fact that 78.4% of the US population are Christians makes it a "de facto" Christian nation. Second warning: You're in danger of losing your posting privileges due to your name-calling and personal attacks.

Its kinds of odd how all these far left, cross stealin', God banning, ACLU lovin', destroy capitalism, destroy the USA, everything is the USA's fault, Al Gore followin', socialism lovin, in the closet communists all say dont watch Glenn Beck. He seems to be pissing off the right people. I'm going to watch everyday now.
rmx01indiana 1 year ago
@rmx01indiana Crosses are only racist when they are on fire. And I don't care about how long its been there that doesn't make it ok.
UnrepentantSinner 1 year ago
This all goes back to their misguided distortion called "seperation of church and state" Those words are NOWHERE in the Constitution. Those words are NOWHERE in the Declaration of Independence. Our founders, who believed in the Republic and capitalism, believed and knew we had GOD given rights. The strategy now is to attack that God even exists so we wont have those God given rights. All to complete their social justice agenda. This is the early stategy of transfoming our free society.
rmx01indiana 1 year ago
@rmx01indiana You know what else isn't in the constitution. Capitalism. That's right, nowhere in the Constitution can you find the word capitalism. But that's a moot point because this has nothing to do with the economy. And this is not a Christian Nation. Stop watching Glenn Beck.
UnrepentantSinner 1 year ago
@UnrepentantSinner Not a Christian nation???? Hmmm kinda funny how the principles of the Constitution go hand in hand with the principles of the Bible. I digress though, because you proved my point about your kinds misguided, distorted interpretations of what this country is. This belief is a poison to our nation. . . . ". . always keep the state out of the church, but never take the church out of the state" ~Thomas Jefferson

@rmx01indiana Find me one part of the Constitution where it says America is a Christian Nation or shut up.

UnrepentantSinner 1 year ago
@UnrepentantSinner -- America is DE FACTO a Christian nation If you don't like it, then get the hell out. If you don't know the meaning of "de facto," then look it up.

I mean really, whats next, no more weddings at parks, due to it might offend someone with a Pastor there? The aclu and the blind followers are so toxic, if they'd only think about their actions a bit more, but, I know, thats just asking to much. They sit on their ass just looking for ways to be a bigger ass in life.
ridealong4u 1 year ago
Our Government did not establish this Cross, our War Vets did for their Fallen. Funny how the twisted minds of the aclu and alike, turn things around to suit themselves.

You christians suck. You pretend your war memorials are for the veterans but it is a slap to every Agnostic, Jewish, Muslim etc soldier that ever died for this country. Your cross is gone, your arguments are just piss in the river. When is rapture coming you morons?
chilich33z 1 year ago
@chilich33z Another idiot insulting people. This is from WW I. That means this is from a LONG freakin time ago. THOSE people chose to honor THEIR dead with this. If you dont like what THEY did for THEMSELVES, then thats too bad. We should show respect to those of the past and stop reacting every time some crybaby atheist gets his panties in a bunch, just because he says a cross. Dont like it? Dont look at it
rmx01indiana 1 year ago
@rmx01indiana The problem is that the law is on our side. The cross is a religious symbol which is not allowed on government property.
UnrepentantSinner 1 year ago
@UnrepentantSinner Since when are religious symbols not allowed on govt property???
rmx01indiana 1 year ago
@rmx01indiana Since the 1st amendment says the the government cannot establish a religion.
UnrepentantSinner 1 year ago
@UnrepentantSinner LOL How is putting a cross above a dead person establishing a religion???
rmx01indiana 1 year ago
@rmx01indiana Last time I checked there weren't any bodies buried at that cross in the desert.
UnrepentantSinner 1 year ago
@UnrepentantSinner Still, how is putting a cross in dirt establishing a religion?
rmx01indiana 1 year ago
@rmx01indiana Because the cross is a Christian symbol. Crosses only honor the Christian solders, not the Jewish, Atheist, or people of other faiths that fought in world war one.
UnrepentantSinner 1 year ago
@UnrepentantSinner Ok again how is that unlawful or establishing a religion?? Apparently the families of the time didnt have a problem with it, why do you?
rmx01indiana 1 year ago
@rmx01indiana If you put a cross on your lawn, are you not establishing your home as Christian? It's the same for the government. And you don't know what families of the time thought. There could have been some who didn't. But that's a moot point. It is still wrong and needs to be removed.
