I love this piece; it reminds me of when I was a kid and playing this in my high school orchestra as a freshman, and it made me start liking creepy music.
Si, senor! Raul is peerless in his interpretration of this colourful work. If you like this, may I suggest (if you enjoy barn burner" organ works) "Thou Art the Rock" by Henri Mulet.
This is one of my favourite pieces, and this does full justice. The organ gives it that haunting calliope sound that just seems so appropriate. I love it.
Great playing- but there seem to be two different organists on two different organs playing here, with the clips spliced together. Who's the second organist, or did Raul die his hair?
This video is so amazing. What an impeccable performance of extreme brilliance. Colorful magic coming at different interval when two organists combined their spectacular performance with amazing depth usually associated with an orchestra of such magnitude. Never seen anything so spectacular as the awesome performance by two talented genius compiling different sequences and uniting them into one imaginative performance of the decade.
That is unbelievable! I love this on the organ! Do you mind if I subscribe to your friends' list? I was so used to hearing this piece with the conventional orchestra, that I never heard this before until now! You guys are incredible!! I LOVE IT!!!!!
...Ahhh... Such a beautiful piece of music! Ahhh... It sounds wonderful! What a great job he did! At 01:35, it made me quite excited! So haunting at that part... So beautiful... My heart is filled with joy! (I wish I could learn to play the pipe organ...)
Truly ingenious. The organ is really one of the most beautiful instruments with the capability to bring out the real 'haunting' quality of a piece such as this.
Years ago the "Orchestral organ (Seen in France today) were quite prevelant. After 1960 they were scorned and so many destroyed in favor os Neo-Baroque trackers. Why can't people understand how versatile the Pipe Organ is and how rewarding to hear something besides Bach. Well done. Inspiring
Iposted a comment so this is a second chance not a real reply. The oy at the light console is absolutely enjoying himself. He even smiles. This is a stellar performance by someone who loves to pay.
i first heard this piece in an old computer game i used to play. and i used to only play the game just to hear this song. it has taken me years to finally remember what it was called and hear it again. what an outstanding performance!!! thank you!
Sure, but can he whistle??? HA! That was amazing. My favorite instrumental piece, played by two immense talents. I no longer claim to be able to play the organ. Kudos to both of these guys.
Puedo decir que tuve el privilegio de asistir a este concierto en la Basilica de Santa María de Mataró, ademas de algun otro tambien en Mataró y La Mercçe de Barcelona.
Simply phenomenal! I never realised just how versatile an organ could be. The arrangement was sublime, and the technical capability in its execution to match! This is the best performance of Danse Macabre I have heard to date!
This young man is such a tremendous artist that it's a good thing that I am not in the audience. I've always loved those who can perform as flawlessly as he does. I'm afraid it would border on "Organist Worshiping" thing. What talent he had. Really turns me on!!
If you look to the top left you will see a sign saying anti bus :D,i just thought i sud point that out ,great playing ,magic song and intense skillfullness :( i go crazy to think how u would learn how o do that!!!!
NOTE FOR EVERYBODY: in Raùl's website there is a video of the Danza Macabra ENTIRELY PLAYED on the S. Marìa de Matarò organ (in this page, it's the organ he plays when in "long hair" style...) The link is:

This is innovative and refreshing. Beautiful interpretation of this masterpiece. It inspires me to arrange for a similar recording/performance. I must show this to someone..
I remember that Todd Wilson graciously gave me a copy of this piece. The Lemare transcriptions are fiendishly difficult, but I eventually played it at a recital at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Cleveland. What a masterpiece.
We want more! We want more! It would be great if you play some more of Camille! He really has some more great plays like Danse Macabre! So let's hear!!
So incredibly bitchin'. That stupid Phantom of the Opera doesn't have shit on you, Raul. (note the name irony!) Please tell me there's a CD recording of this.

Truly great playing by both organists. The organs are wonderful. Saint-Saens is always a great piece. I love the registrations used by both organists; particularly the long haired organist's registration on the louder parts of the song. Great playing guys!
This is totally captivating and compelling!
