One of the gold standards for the aria I reckon. But when we talk about poor taste v good taste, it's completely subjective isn't it. I mean, some people prefer Villazon singing this. Fair enough: that's up to them.
Magnificent, fresh, convincing singing. Someone mentioned that the acting was less good. Try moving around and gesticulating when singing an aria of this complexity and speed...besides which in the baroque theatre there was very little acting to mention: one sang centre stage. A very good-looking, superb- sounding baroque singer. I really do not believe one could or indeed should ask for more!

The ornamentation at the end is not in poor taste at all--it's very good, and he sings it beautifully. Handel's tenor parts are quite low, and it's nice to hear a tenor with a good lower register. A wonderful perfomance.
Great singing, even more dramatic than Villazon's excellent rendition. The only weak link of the performance are the ornamentation at the end of the aria which are in rather poor taste and the lack of flexibility of the voice when hitting a high note. Furthermore, Thomas Randle's high register is not sufficently master and because of that shortage of technique, the last note is a bit weak, but the rest of the aria is beautifully performed.
