  • I can't get enough of this vid. From 2.30 to the end of the solo, is one of the funkiest things I've ever heard. Scofields solo ain't bad either! Ha ha

  • this is really white and really boring

  • this hi hat is just amazing! and the cymbals…so dry

  • This group so awesomely off! Scofield is burnin' between all the scales and chords!

  • 6:20 = start of Green Tea

  • steve swallow has such a weird style... Pick-style, with an acoustic-electric bass guitar, in JAZZ??? Sounds to me like that belongs more in a violent femmes cover band. Great player though.

  • Anybody knows what amp head is Swallow using here?

  • Mr stewart!!! Stop being so good.

  • 5:47 thats me in the front clapping with my chin =)

  • Scofield is what I'd call a risky player.. he isn't afraid to step out of the box and do what he feels suits the music. Can he not play the shit out of that Artstar?! Makes me want to give up entirely.

  • This is sick with greatness. How did I not know of this?

  • wow.... this DVD is wonderfull...... buy.

  • And also if you cant seem to get a specific sound out of a cymbal, its okay to mess around with it, use a sizzle or put a small peice of tape on the cymbal for a dry sound, for these artists playing for as long as they have, they know what they like,

  • for mrjmaxwell, Bill uses the Zildjian K Custom Complex Dry Ride II. But on occasion he uses the Zildjian K Custom Dark Series and also Zildjian K Constantinople Medium Thin High Ride.

  • wow the bassist at 47 looks looks like hes blowing his load. sorry for the explicitness. hes lovin it!

  • Hey he's ol' man Swallow watch your tongue! :D

  • @shlempnar i think hes much older tha nthat

  • no such thing as too old to groove. i know thats not what you meant. but thats originally what i was saying. the groove is hard as.

  • @shlempnar seriously. I'm somewhat new to him. I mean he's so in the F'n pocket its a crime

  • steve swallow PERPETUALLY looks like he's blowing his load.

  • @crustandcrumb

i wondered does he Swallow? :)

    sorry i just had to

  • Bill Stewart is a psychopath.

  • @patriot6061 agree

  • What DVD is this from?!

  • this is free of bs

  • voglio quella gretsch!!!!!

  • Sco's lines are just greasy! Always messin with time! Like a drunk guy slurring his words and saying some profound shit!

  • Listen to that funky lick at 0:12, Scofield simply just never runs out of ideas, as an improviser and a composer and its always all his own. The absolute man.

  • Bill Stewart is so the man, aside from his amazing limb independence, i love the sound he gets out of his cymbals and drums, anyone know specifically what model cymbals he uses?

  • @mrjmaxwell Bill's symbols are the Zildjian Dry Complex. It's modeled after a K he had with a crack in it that he liked the "trashiness" of.

  • Miles didn't have chops? Try playing along with Tony Williams at a hundred billion miles an hour on a tune with 30 chord changes in front of 5 thousand people while Tony is mad at you. Try playing Freedom Jazz Dance on the effin trumpet.

  • Bill Stewart Kills! How many other drum solos can you hum along too?

  • haha whose the idiot that said Bill stewart sucks?

Bill stewart has the touch most drummers are trying to get, man i worry about whoever said he sucks

  • clever idea! never get bored to see him solo, he always made a song more exciting.. i love everything he does on drums.. every single little thing!

  • billy is my gay boy!

  • he's gay?

  • zanzibahn39 you are mamn right

clever words dude. billy is one of my favourites - AMAZING!!! he also have some chops, i use them too. (sometimes)

  • Marvelous musically drumming !!!

  • Bill Steward is one of our planet's finest musicians! He makes music for both trained and nontrained ears. But it requires a certain amount of openness to enjoy it. If you fucked up your senses with cheap EGO-music before, you will not be capable of appreciating this wonderful artist!! ;)

  • azimitch of course =D

    Bill kicks ass

  • drummer sucked:s

  • wrong

  • I just bought one of those cymbals he's using. I wish I sounded as good he does on it.

  • i like music.

  • okay best drum solo ive ever heard

  • ummm the best drum solo youve ever heard? you need to spend more time on youtube then. there are 12 year olds on here that had a better solo than that!

  • Okay, you're officially retarded.

  • ..TWAT !!

  • Yes there are drum solo's by people like Tony Royster Jr. who have chops, but the musicality and melodic playing along with the independence and intense groove that continues during the solo is something that is rare. Only two other drummers could play a solo like Bill Stewart did, one is Brian Blade and the other is Art Blakey. Chops aren't everything. Miles didn't have chops.

  • Sco at his best.

  • Talk about Control.....Go B.S.

  • Damn! of course we all love Sco and Steve..but Bill Stewart..DAMN!

  • Good God, the French always gave jazz its proper due. We have some serious self reflection on this note to consider back home. Art Rules; chow.

  • Scofield is a genius

Please how can I get a copy of this DVD?

    Thanks for posting this.........brilliant
