and bs about reliability, my brother owns 3 subarus, and they brake down on him every other day.....Subarus have bad transmissions and horrible headgasket disign. Also my moms wrx knocks on cylinder 3 when you get on it...
mitsubishi parts are 2/3 the price of subaru parts. ( I go to the dealership every week)

02 subarus wrx's are well known for having "Glass trannys", your insane if you think subaru has every made a bullet proof transmission....
And since we are talking about engine failures, I was driving my brothers 98 2.5 rs like a grandma not even going over the speed limit and blew both head gaskets to bits....that car had every color of the rainbow shooting out the exhaust and the funny part was we were driving completely normal with no hard driving whatsoever...subaruFTW
@RubberDuckieXcore See I don't know about WRX's, RS's, Foresters, bajas, and etc. I have personal experience on my own 05 STi and so far I went through 2 exedy clutches from all the launching at the track and my tranny is still solid. I also have stock axles that have seen over 100+ 6k+ rpm launches. The only part I had to replace on my subaru that was actaully going bad was the piston land ring. Now with forged pistons more power and durability.
not ALL subarus have problems, if they did, no one would buy them....
but many do have there problems. I'm guessing your rocking a 6speed, and if you are you should go buy some lotto tickets, you are a lucky dude if your sti is taking that kind of abuse and hasn't taken a dump on you.

lol u don't even know what i drive. I'm talking out of my personal experience, everyone in my family drives a subaru, my sister has 2.2 impreza, my mom has a new wrx, my brother has a 03 wrx, a 98 2.5 rs and his wife has a 95 impreza wagon.
keep in mind all have had regular maintenance done at the dealerships. my brothers 2.5 and wrx had headgaskets blow, my sisters developed rod knock, and my moms wrx is in the shop right now with a bad ecu and bad valves. subaru PWR!
One STI is enough to make the Evolution run home crying to mama...
There is no need to out man the competition when the STI is more car then an Evolution will ever be. But 08 models lines and up of the Evolution are superior to the junk Subaru is selling. (Coming from a 07 STI limited owner)

@Adam22688 good question. well, despite the fact that i see alot of EVOs where I live, Evo's cost more even at base price, they do less fuel economy yet making less horsepower (276 vs 293 (06-07), 291 vs 305 (08+)) than the subaru. the evo needs an aftermarket exhaust to sound good, sti's sound nice stock, maintainance, service, parts, and repairs are more expensive with a evo, as well as insurance. the only things evo's have over the sti is looks, interior space, and more trim levels
@1englandnigga Don't get me wrong, I actually like both of those cars. Both have their pros n cons but if I had the money I'd buy them both. But I will say if i had to absolutely choose one (and had the money to support it of course), I'll still lean more towards the Evo. Just cause its one crazy, mean looking, motha-fucker!! but like i said, if i could, I'd get'um both.
Subaru and Audi are my 2 favorite brands of car. Both have perfect AWD systems and awesome styling. Subarus are like tanks - I have never seen one stuck in snow.
It really is true though. You or at least i see very few evos or stis on the street. But there are teams of wrx's out there esp. bug eyes. and being a subaru owner there is a certain amount of membership that is associated with subaru owners. similar to motorcycles or jeep owners. I think that stuff is cool. But i will never hate on the evo.

I have been driving Subaru for 28 years and have NEVER had ANY trouble, I'm not saying that had I been driving a Mitsubishi I would have, but subarus are better for others reasons and besides Subaru is. Better company!

huh ....i can buy an 03 evo for 14k right now with low miles...most used sti's i see nowadays are going for 17k-21k....
and bs about reliability, my brother owns 3 subarus, and they brake down on him every other day.....Subarus have bad transmissions and horrible headgasket disign. Also my moms wrx knocks on cylinder 3 when you get on it...
mitsubishi parts are 2/3 the price of subaru parts. ( I go to the dealership every week)

I drove my budys evo for 3 hours to seattle the way I drive my STi and his pistons were shot afterwards and had to be towed so good game mitsubishi!!!!

02 subarus wrx's are well known for having "Glass trannys", your insane if you think subaru has every made a bullet proof transmission....
And since we are talking about engine failures, I was driving my brothers 98 2.5 rs like a grandma not even going over the speed limit and blew both head gaskets to bits....that car had every color of the rainbow shooting out the exhaust and the funny part was we were driving completely normal with no hard driving whatsoever...subaruFTW

@RubberDuckieXcore See I don't know about WRX's, RS's, Foresters, bajas, and etc. I have personal experience on my own 05 STi and so far I went through 2 exedy clutches from all the launching at the track and my tranny is still solid. I also have stock axles that have seen over 100+ 6k+ rpm launches. The only part I had to replace on my subaru that was actaully going bad was the piston land ring. Now with forged pistons more power and durability.

but many do have there problems. I'm guessing your rocking a 6speed, and if you are you should go buy some lotto tickets, you are a lucky dude if your sti is taking that kind of abuse and hasn't taken a dump on you.

lol u don't even know what i drive. I'm talking out of my personal experience, everyone in my family drives a subaru, my sister has 2.2 impreza, my mom has a new wrx, my brother has a 03 wrx, a 98 2.5 rs and his wife has a 95 impreza wagon.
keep in mind all have had regular maintenance done at the dealerships. my brothers 2.5 and wrx had headgaskets blow, my sisters developed rod knock, and my moms wrx is in the shop right now with a bad ecu and bad valves. subaru PWR!

@Adam22688 good question. well, despite the fact that i see alot of EVOs where I live, Evo's cost more even at base price, they do less fuel economy yet making less horsepower (276 vs 293 (06-07), 291 vs 305 (08+)) than the subaru. the evo needs an aftermarket exhaust to sound good, sti's sound nice stock, maintainance, service, parts, and repairs are more expensive with a evo, as well as insurance. the only things evo's have over the sti is looks, interior space, and more trim levels
