I watched a bunch of these "garage door problems" videos. They explained a lot, but not my problem. The garage door (no opener) with torsion spring, would not stay open once lifted. The door would roll at least half way back down. The fix was simple and free! I tightened the torsion spring about 3/4 of a turn. I also lubed it up to hopefully extend the life of the parts. If you attempt this fix, be safe, don't stand right in front of the spring, wear gloves and safety glasses!
I tried adjusting the torsion springs because one side of my door had a gap at the bottom...it was bad news. I ended up calling a contractor to come out and fix it.
