  • THANK YOU!! Do you know how many videos I've plowed through to try to figure out even this simple function? Very grateful :)

  • nice, thanks

  • great job mate.

  • awhkwhod puwse

  • Great video, very clear and easy to understand tutorial. P.S. You sound a bit like David Mitchell!

  • Im a musician and Im trying to play the drums while recording with a play-along. So, I have my play along track on Audacity and another track for my drum recording, but I can't hear the play along track on Audacity when I record...how can I make it so I can hear the track and play at the same time?

  • hehe! I'm doing this with dubstep and here you come with Mozart :P kinda funny tho. but all got our own taste :) thanx for the amazing tutorial subbed to hear more from you :D

  • I have audacity 1.3 and I cant find "project" anywhere.. Help please

  • wow ur right... im a heavy user of audacity i have the beta with a custom skin and i just noticed that. O_o

dont worry abt it bud ur audacity isn't broken i have 1.3.9 beta. I recomend it cuz even if audacity crashes it resotres ur lost files. Nothing can fase it. ^_^

U asked for help, seeing as this guy only used project to bring an audio file in the timeline i'd imagine thats whats confuzzling u?

In audacity i just drag and drop supported media into time line(u can also click file->import)

  • @99dynasty it's cause 1.3 is the beta version. You don't need to go to projects to import music files in the beta, you must go to file and choose import.

  • Nice work-- this should be higher on the list of Audacity tutorials!!! I had to suffer through some unintentionally funny ones to get to this one, which did it all for me in just a few minutes! Many thanks!

  • thanks for clearing stuff up i was very confused on what i was doing

  • Finally a tutorial that is clear, precise and easy to follow. Nice work fella.

    Cheers!

  • Très très bien, dans un anglais très clair.

  • For some reason when i import the audio to start it off, it just has a really fast and rumbled noise. Help?

  • this is like the best tutorial i've seen so far !

  • Top notch mate, you have explained the software well :)

  • very very very good tutorial!

1 little tip: can you make next time a low quality movie and a high quality. Because some people want a faster loading time, and others an higher quality: Make both!

  • hey.. when i play the mixed tracks i get some rumble..(more & more tracks i mix the quality decreases..i'm also using a good quality condenser mic for recording)... it also saves it with that reduced quality... how do i get a crystal clear mixed track...?

  • this is very very very helpful..thanks:)

  • incredibly good choice of songs.

  • Thanks. We obviously both have excellent taste in music.

  • where did you get this music????

  • The first two tracks are horn concerto's by Mozart. The second two are from Lord of the Rings. Evenstar and Requiem for a Dream.

  • And Reqiuem for a Dream is from "Requiem for a Dream" (the film^^)

  • Can someone tell me a good way to generate sound effects? I need it for a game Im working on and want it 100% original.

Is there a way to get decent sfx using a combination of built in functions?

  • Great video, can you do one on syching up a drum track with a guitar or something? I find it difficult to get the BPM's to match perfectly

  • WOW! What GOOD stuff! Please, keep it coming.

  • Thanks a lot for your tutorial! Are there more effects to connect two tracks than in-and-out-fading? greetings

  • Audacity has lots of editing effects that might be useful, but no built in sound effects.

  • Nice. Very nice!
