I have an S5, but I have much respect for Nissan and their performance cars and most of the time they will smoke me. I'm ok with that, because my worth is not all about the car I drive.

The difference between the power output of a v6 and v8 comes into play with temp swings. Especially if they're super or turbo charged seeing as the warmer the air the less oxygen to combust. Therefor the v8 which is usually naturally aspirated will be more reliable on power output.

Yeah umm that wouldnt really matter, the S5 is nearly 4000pounds, the G37 is quite lighter, and also weight doesnt come into much affect at rolls, weight is more for off the line.

@JMGameVideos Correction. Audi is the best looking and high tech car but performance wise, they aren't too good. It barely beats a little V6 and it produces only about 50 more HP then a stock G37S.
For the price you paid for an Audi S5, might as well get the BMW M3, the one with the V8 in it. You can find a slightly use BMW M3 with a V8 for the same or similar amount of money of this S5 and run ring around it.

Look up the comparison tests for yourself. Sorry, but i trust all of them more than your stories.

And yes, i looked at ALL of the G37 cpe's 1/4 mile times to see if you were telling the truth. And you're wrong, they dont all get 13.7. Motortrend got 14.0, C/D got 13.9, Edm I/L 13.9

Yes, i remember reading about that 3 years ago in a MT comparison (i always knew BMW's 3.0L I6's were terribly overrated engines). Still, Japanese cars dont neccessarily have better reliability at the moment. Look up JD Power's 2010 Vehicle Dependability Study. Mitsubishi, Mazda, Suzuki, and Scion were poorly rated 2/5 in overall dependability. Acura, Nissan, Infiniti got 3/5 (average).
@4MATICbenz The only nissan you can compare to porches or bmw is the GT-R, i cant even beleive you would compare any of those besides infiniti/acura to porches or bmw.Its funny how Infiniti/Nissan only gets 3/5 when their engines have been on wards top 10 for so many years in a row. Also I checked the JDM reliability rating on the 08 G35 sedan.. the Reliability was 9.0/10 with an overall rating of 8.8... and the M series was a solid 9.0.

Most are for annoying electrical issues that are known but people still buy them for the "German reputation" All of my friends with imports have sooooo many problems. My friend calls his AUDI "Always under diagnostic inspection". I have had my G35 for 6 years now not a single problem besides brakes.
@clarda1 , Great; ive had my E320 now for almost 9 years and only problems were brake light switch malfunction and a couple of burnt out bulbs. Still going strong at 154K. I use it as my winter car. Ive also had two 5-series in the past 4 years. Both leases, only time they went to the dealer was for standard maintenance. Ive never had experience with Audi or VW, but I do believe they're unreliable. As for BMW & MB, they are excellent cars & I wouldnt be wasting my time defending them if werent
@clarda1 , GTR is a $90K car with a 100% devotion in performance and NOTHING ELSE. You do realize for much less than a GTR, there are other cars out there with a 100% priority in performance. Ever hear of the Ariel Atom or Caterham SP300R?

The G37 has a 7AT, SEVEN SPEED, you should know about your own car in your own video, its also only has 17 less horsepower than the S5(stock vs stock) but weighs 400-500 lbs more, so in theory because of gearing the G37 would win if the S5 was auto too(6 speed vs 7 speed for G37)....

I have an '09 S5 with similar mods as this one, and am surprised that it walked away from the G37 that bad, but then I've also test driven the G37 and it's a lot slower than the spec sheet suggests. I think most cars with similar weight and 30 less hp like the IS350 and 335i are faster than the G37 and I have no idea why.
335i is faster than the G37 (but its listed as faster as well). I think you just need to know how to drive the G, I can get mine to perform like the specs say...
But the G37 is also a base model car, and the 335i is about $10,000 more.
The S5 is an amazing car btw, not disputing that, I really do like the car, but its an S line, supposedly ready to compete with M3s/C63s ... at least on the price level.

The reason I say this is because every, and I mean EVERY trusted automotive performance testing publication records faster 0-60 and 1/4 times for the 335i vs. G37 in ALL cases (sedan, coupe, 6M, 7AT, etc.) Im talking from Car and Driver to Motortrend to Road & Track to Edmunds I/L. Look up the comparison tests for yourself. Sorry, but i trust all of them more than your stories.

The g37x pulls 0-60 in 5.0-5.2 seconds, and the 335i pulls 5.2 seconds stock? dunno where your getting your info from buddy. I did infact look up those comparison reports. The g37 runs 13.7 1/4 mile at 103.X and the 335i runs 13.5 @ 103.8mph... Hmmmm not a spanking at all. In fact in one of the reviews the 335i overheated and couldn't even compete the test.

Although, that 13.7s time (which i presume you pulled from R/T) is the absolute fastest time for a g37. 13.5sec is not the fastEST 335i time.

And yes, i looked at ALL of the G37 cpe's 1/4 mile times to see if you were telling the truth. And you're wrong, they dont all get 13.7. Motortrend got 14.0, C/D got 13.9, Edm I/L 13.9

Oh, and another thing. Your example of Japanese performance is bullshit for four reasons. One; the Porsche 911 is not a V8. Two; it's time is whopping 1 sec slower than the GTR (7:39 vs 7:38) around a 13 mile long course. Three; the 911 Turbo isnt even the fastest 911 model. Four: the fastest 911 model (which is the 911 GT2 RS) beats the GTR's time by whopping 14 sec (7:24)

Yes, i remember reading about that 3 years ago in a MT comparison (i always knew BMW's 3.0L I6's were terribly overrated engines). Still, Japanese cars dont neccessarily have better reliability at the moment. Look up JD Power's 2010 Vehicle Dependability Study. Mitsubishi, Mazda, Suzuki, and Scion were poorly rated 2/5 in overall dependability. Acura, Nissan, Infiniti got 3/5 (average).

Also I checked the JDM reliability rating on the 08 G35 sedan.. the Reliability was 9.0/10 with an overall rating of 8.8... and the M series was a solid 9.0.

Most are for annoying electrical issues that are known but people still buy them for the "German reputation" All of my friends with imports have sooooo many problems. My friend calls his AUDI "Always under diagnostic inspection". I have had my G35 for 6 years now not a single problem besides brakes.

@clarda1 , Great; ive had my E320 now for almost 9 years and only problems were brake light switch malfunction and a couple of burnt out bulbs. Still going strong at 154K. I use it as my winter car. Ive also had two 5-series in the past 4 years. Both leases, only time they went to the dealer was for standard maintenance. Ive never had experience with Audi or VW, but I do believe they're unreliable. As for BMW & MB, they are excellent cars & I wouldnt be wasting my time defending them if werent

The G37 has a 7AT, SEVEN SPEED, you should know about your own car in your own video, its also only has 17 less horsepower than the S5(stock vs stock) but weighs 400-500 lbs more, so in theory because of gearing the G37 would win if the S5 was auto too(6 speed vs 7 speed for G37)....

I have an '09 S5 with similar mods as this one, and am surprised that it walked away from the G37 that bad, but then I've also test driven the G37 and it's a lot slower than the spec sheet suggests. I think most cars with similar weight and 30 less hp like the IS350 and 335i are faster than the G37 and I have no idea why.

But the G37 is also a base model car, and the 335i is about $10,000 more.
The S5 is an amazing car btw, not disputing that, I really do like the car, but its an S line, supposedly ready to compete with M3s/C63s ... at least on the price level.
