A lot of people feel the same way we do. It's sad to think that the studios and Yates though so little of how the fans feel. They had the perfect actor, and yet, they tossed him aside. :-(

He did such a fantastic job as Tom Riddle, perfect for the part really, that it really saddens me that they're not using him. let's face it, the hp movies are not as good as they used to be, particularly after the third movie. films have deviated from the book, characters have changed, continuity is lost along the way. visual effects have taken precedence over storyline. i speak for myself strictly, i don't like the way they disregarded those who valued a little continuity. everybody else reprised their role(rickman's too old for snape), why not coulson? gaaah!i'll miss him!
I agree with all the points you made. Rickman is definitely well past the age limit for Snape, but I really like him in that role though. :-) I really, really don't like how the movies are turning out either, or how they disregarded those of us who want some continuity in the films. Not to mention their mantra that "If it's not directly about Harry/and or the kids, it doesn't belong in the films."
I bet, if Chris Columbus had come back to direct HBP, Christian Coulson would have the part. But it's Yates....unfortunately. He's destroying HBP and DH and there's not much we can do about it. Sigh.

Yates also said it was going to be more of a romantic comdey. Read his old interviews. I did read HBP, and I do know that JKR spent time on developing the romantic aspects of the novels, but they're not the whole books. They've already held auditions for Tom Riddle Jr. He did not get the part. Plus, on his filmography on some sight, can't rememeber the name, HBP isn't mentioned anymore. It was a few years ago though, so I guess he's not playing ANY parts. The directer of the movie will be recieving a very angry letter from me. Good luck with the letters though! Maybe he'll still get a part as like Older Tom, when he goes in to ask for the teaching job? Small improvment...

Any recent pic I've seen of him (besides the one of him with a beard), he hardly looks as though he's aged since CoS. And I did give them the facts with this vid. They don't have to sign it if they don't want to. In the link to the petition, there's a recent pic of him, and a list of other actors who played younger characters. Just because he's 30 doesn't mean he can't play Tom Riddle. What about Snape? And Myrtle? And Draco? He's is about 20 or 21 now and here is in OotP, playing a 15 year old.
Glad there are other people out there just as frustrated over this as I am. Christian Coulson was PERFECT as Tom Riddle. He not only was handsome, but he was PERFECT. He made that role believable and it was just as how I pictured him in the books. Even his movements were absolutely perfect.

Great idea! Although I'm afraid it may be a lost cause :( *cries* Why would they want to replace him? He's not THAT old, and hair/makeup could make him look younger. In CoS he was around 24 and played a 16 yr old. There should be continuity - I've already been traumatized enough with the replacement of Dumbledore. </rant>

The second I saw petiton in my inbox I hoped it would be for this reason. I am so mad at Yates. I know it is a slim chance but I am really crossing my finges that this works. Chritian will always be my Tom Riddle. Thanks for making this vid :)

Great idea! Although I'm afraid it may be a lost cause :( *cries* Why would they want to replace him? He's not THAT old, and hair/makeup could make him look younger. In CoS he was around 24 and played a 16 yr old. There should be continuity - I've already been traumatized enough with the replacement of Dumbledore. </rant>
