  • Super easy to follow!!! Excellent video!! Thank you, thank you!!!

  • shouldn't the chain be tighter?

  • @JudeElyaman The tightness of the chain will depend on what you are making. In most cases it should be loose. If it is to tight, your work is tighter at the beginning.

  • I was told you were not supposed to count the very first "Loop"? for example if a pattern says to chain 3; am I suppose to make the 1 loop not count that and then make 3 more chains?

Or just make 3 chains after I make the slip knot? I always get confused at this please help?! THanks

  • @crochet if this is hard for me will it be impossible to teach myself?

  • @12ThingsShine Keep practicing and you will get the hang of it.

  • I wish u can do a chain stitch right handed. I can't get the hang of it.

  • @SuperBettyboop40 You will find a right and left hand version

  • I learned the sl lp yesterday today I want to learn this. I'm learning all the basics before I start a small project.

  • i get a big knot thing ;(

  • what is the name of that nail polish and brand ? its Hot !

  • =/ i would that i had learned this at a young age =(

  • okay this part was never hard for me....simple...but then what? I am hoping to be able to make scarfs ,blankets etc

  • Are you the person who's

    channel is "tjw1963" ???

Cuz your voice sounds totally the same :D

  • @NikkyShay Yes, both channels are mine. I am putting slower versions of techniques on this channel as well as pattern variations like the cable cap.

  • I'm a newbie to crocheting, I mean a real newbie, your vids are fantastic, I've bought so much yarn becuz I want to learn to make a color-blocked cowl scarf and an infinity scarf as well. However, there are so many different designs, I don't want the regular design, what would u suggest?

  • okay i tried this and all that i have is a huge not of yarn iknow it takes lots of practice but i want to make a blanket for my baby sister if you have any videos for that can you send them to me

  • @100ambermatthews I will send you a playlist posted on my main channel with a lot of ideas for an afghan.

  • Thank you sooo much for your time!! God Bless you

  • Wow, thanks, been doing it when i was young with my grams, then i forgot how to start again.. Thanks...

  • You have such a unique way of holding and feeding your yarn. I have taught myself how to crochet, and I've never felt comfortable with the way I hold my hook and the way I feed my yarn. You look sooooo smooth when you crochet. Do you have a video that shows how you hold the yarn and how you use your hook? I would love to watch something like that. I just love your videos, and I really appreciate your posting them for us!

  • @Srileyhays I do have a couple of video on my main channel. I will send you the video.

  • Thank you for these videos! Could you please make a tutorial to show us newbies how to properly hold the yarn?

  • i tried to do it :D i guess what!!! i did it finally after a lot of practice now i understant how to make it right and that all because of you :D the summer will be fun this years now 'im trying to do tha half chaine and i'm not surprise i should practice more i'll be patient :p and one more time THANK YOU a lot <3 you are my best teacher xoxo

  • @lovexspx7 Thank you for your kinds words. You did it because you practiced and kept practicing. With anything that we like to do, it takes practice to get better. Same with crochet.

  • When I tried this, it didn't work at all. It just looks like a massive knot of yarn. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

  • @nemobabaaay Without an image, it is difficult to know what you may be doing. When a person is new to crochet, the stitches will be uneven and different sizes. It will take lots of practice as you learn how to control your tension.

  • This is awesome! I've been wanting to learn how to crochet for a while now. I tried learning through one of the books available at Walmart, but it looked complicated. Thanks for the video!

  • I had to use a roll of jute twine and a chopstick, but I finally learned how to make a slipknot. I'll be making the hat that I want to make in no time. Thankyou, Theresa. :)

  • Omg, thank you so much! I have been looking for the videos of how to make the crochet chain til I found you! Thank youuuu! :)

  • @missymaria7 You are welcome!

  • i love ur channel!!!

no crochet tutorial like yours detail,

and take care of crochet beginners:)

  • @MattyDoto Thank you, I appreciate the comment!

  • Hi I commented alongggg time ago that i didnt get the little hoop over the hook but it too long to figure out so i just like pulled it over the hook and it worked imma take a picture and send it to u to see if its ok

  • @Missy2010Diana Keep practicing and you will get the hang of it.

  • I've never crocheted (I don't know how to spell that!) anything before, but I really want to start! I was wondering what size crochet hook I should start with, and if there's any type of yarn that you like?

    Thank you!

  • @KenshinForever I would recommend 4 ply yarn and a size I.5.5mm crochet hook. As you practice, you can start to experiment with different sizes.

  • @crochet okay! thank you so much! also, is there any design that you find easier to make?

  • doing this is like trying to teach a llama how to drive. :/

  • @lpswebkinz12 Keep practicing and you will get the hang of it.

  • I cant make the chain bc i keep pulling but it doesnt make a thing

  • @Missy2010Diana Keep practicing! I know that is not much help right now but in order to move on to other stitches, you must practice. Maybe take a break and try again.

  • Awesome! Best tutorial I could find on the internets! Now my daughter is going to teach me how!

  • Slipknot rulz \,,/ lol

  • As a beginner, this is the clearest video of all....Thx a bunch.....

    Stan in Las Vegas

  • @fuzzymug1 Thank you.

  • @fuzzymug1

i have to agree with fuzzymug here.

this is by far, the BEST set of tutorials n whatnot for beginners.

it seems like everything on youtube is videos consisting of "how to" but they dont really show how to do anything aside from confuse someone with their swift movements with no rexplaination and the rest of the videos are all "ooh hey look what i did" without actually explaining anything aside from how cool it is.

thanks for really creating some great videos here :)

  • @doobiesnax Thank you! This is a very helpful comment and lets me know what everyone is looking for!!
