BofA just charged me a $15 fee that will be a monthly fee so it's time for me to go! Can I get direct deposit at a credit union and can I use a debit card from them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Never use lending tree. Urgh. I had a 4% loan from my credit union but there were several recurring fees that if they had been counted as part of the interest rate, would have put it at something like 9% (which is still damn good). I'm just saying- be precise, notice everything. Credit unions are the way to go, but you still have to pay attention!

If you use a bank your throwing your money in the trash. If you use a credit card issued by a bank your throwing your money in the trash. A credit union preform all the same services as a bank, but they are not for profit. Since they don't have the extra cost of passive ownership they have less fees, lower interest rates for loans and credit cards, and they give you more money for your deposits.
