@ivlfounder Christians aren't the only ones capable of compassion, though Christians are called to be exemplars of compassion and to set an example.
The parable of the good samaritan is a good example of compassion being shown by people who are otherwise despised by others.

Apologetics comes from the Greek word apologia. Apologia means the justification of a belief or to plea. Apologetics is the science or art of justifying Christian beliefs. Instead of thinking of the word like apologize-ics think of it more like apo-logic-ics or whatever.

So I guess the lesson we can take from this video commentary in response to the charge that Christians are delusional is that Christians may be delusional about their religious beliefs yet still be productive in society.
However productivity in society is measured by entirely different merits than those of delusional beliefs. No one charged Christians as being unproductive in society.

I perpousy wrote it short, so you can reply. And this things about most atheists - you can say that about theists, not atheists. Look, before 2000 to 500 years you could say that the bible is correct. But in the last 500 years science has gain so much knowledge about life, it's overwelming, and has disproven so much in the bible. So the bible is NOT correct, and that means that god didn't wrote the bible (and his allknowing), so he doesn't exist.

Please tell me what knowledge has been gained that disproves the Bible? Science has made great strides in explaining HOW God created the universe, but only how, not why. And I'm no creationist, Darwin's Theory of Evolution is one of the most scientifically supported theories about. Science has not disproved God at all and atheism has no patent on science.

Science has disproven that: god created man(evolution, both theories can't be right), earth is 6000 years old, earth is flat and has 4 corners, earth is in the center of the universe, sun orbits earth, noah's ark story, etc. And if you don't believe in this things then you can't believe in the bible, because it's a big part in the whole story.

Science has not disproven that God used evolution to bring about man (the greatest of all animals with free will and reason) and the first chapters of Genisis arn't even to be read literally, so the Earth is not 6000 years old as creationists say.
St. Augustine even warned against a litral reading of Genesis, and modern-day creationists are simply an American fringe without decent science or theology.
You make a strawman out of the Bible and then attack Christians for not living up to it.

The Bible does not say the Earth is flat or that the Sun goes around the Earth. That idea is from nonsense 19th century atheist literature. 4 Corners of the Earth do not mean a flat earth like a square, but the 4 cardinal directions. And from what I know, that is even used as a metaphor.
The Flood was REGIONAL, not global. The Ark might even be on Mt. Arat in Turkey.
You have just, yet again, made a strawman of the Bible. No logical Christian would believe creationist nonsense

Who says it wasn't true? It is an explaination. It may be it may not be, so what if its allegory? That does not make God any less real or Jesus less the Savior. And if it was a regional flood, then all the animals in the region could of fit on the ark (not dinosaurs, I'm not a creationist)
The creationist intreperation of the Bible is not backed by history, science, or theology. Therefore it is nonsense, not because it is from the Bible.

I think there should be stonings, beheadings, hangings, head chopping, burning even to this day. Using these things on all self righteous judgemental christain freaks that think they are better than us. I was a christain and walked away because never had seen any miraculous things like jesus promise that we would do much more miracles than he did 2000 years ago. All christains are blinded by their own delusions. Im glad i woke up and smell the coffee call reality check extra strong. : )

The church hated Galileo and desired to kill him for suggesting the earth was flat. Oscar Wilde was persecuted for his homosexuality (God hates fags). The bible is riddled with the least tolerant unempathetic people in history. Modern day christians perpetuate this non tolerance. Christianity helps keep humanity divided.

There's no laughs, it is repulsive- and the christendoms denial of science continues even today, consider evolution and the geological record.
