incredebly fast moves but terrible structure for both well nto terrbile but not good either, playing chess is not about moving pieces without thinking is about pentrating in to its deepest secrets, by thinking deeply

@nicoeste8765 They were playing at intense speeds just to say they can play legitimately, as in able to play and think at the same time, at intense speeds. It doesn't mean that they're saying they can play their best game ever at that pace, nobody could. This is just for fun, not to show how good you are.

@janweltevreden Those moves weren't that weak. He was playing the smith-morra gambit and the moves were pretty solid for a speed chess game.

NICE! My brother and I have a neck to neck compition with 2 chess armies with the 4 player chess set, on a 2 minute blitz. Our game is that if I take one of his kings i control his army but... somtimes it back fires when i have 3 armies so I can't get cocky with 3 armies on my side. But this is nice, good game. Who won though?

ok i'm probably going to sound silly but do you guys think about our moves? well what i mean is do you think really fast and make a move or do you have some sort of general template you follow? (i'm going to take a gander and assume you dont have a template)

it is pure pattern recognition. you don't have a plan but you rely on past positions in your head that are common and you try and aim for them. usually, when there is a chance to trade off, you do because the patterns converge to relatively simple play and it becomes a matter of moving very fast.

they likely have the first 10-15 moves memorized. That is to say any reasonable move by their opponent they know what the correct reply is. If there opponent makes a different play they recognize it as a mistake and capitalize.

Nice French Defense in my opinon. All the kindside advancing wasn't needed since Black was up a pawn anyways. That looked like a draw at the end, opposite colored bishops!

I don't understand why people say chess is for nerds. Sure, if you play all the time at the expense of a social life, then you are a nerd. But it is a great way to keep your mind sharp, improve memory, and it alot of fun. The best part is, you always have more to learn and there is always room to improve.

haha well first off the rule is you must hit the clock with the hand you move the piece with. But you can move a piece and with the clock hand and pick up the piece with the opposite one. Anywayz do the rules really matter its a pick up bullet game for godsakes!
