  • took me a lil bit but i got it.Thanks.Just a small tip..if u want the taxi(or whatever) u r using to be black and white and the rest..just switch the hue on the layer of the copy of your selection.Lol.

  • Great work, thanks!!!

  • ITs called Colour accenting btw

  • the other taxis can be seen yellow through the windows...

  • Hi

I used CS4 before and i did the same way as you did in the vid. Now I'm using CS5 and i have a problem using selection tools. For example, I want to edit a photo of a cup. I want the background to be B&W and the cup in original color. I select the outline of the cup and make a selection. But when i select the area between the cup handle and the cup body and make a selection, the original selection of the cup outline is gone and.. i can't isolate the background color. Sorry about my language.

  • @htetnaingsoe use quick selection and hold Alt to remove inside bits and then refine edge tool works really well with hard edges

  • this is horrible. you can see another taxi throught the window of the front taxi. you should go over that for people who dont know

  • Or you could just use a selection tool then select inverse then into image and desaturate. You can even do that on one layer if you'd like. Path tool is kinda overrated for these things.

  • Help my pen tool is up side down how can a get them up like in 0:53 min???

  • I just want to point out that some colors from the other taxis were showing. Just look in the windows.

  • what does feather radius do? better yet, what does feather mean? im a noob -__-

  • dont you think selecting is much easier with the quick selection tool? I did it and it does the same thing but this is good way too

  • HELP! how come when i make a selection the insides of my selection turn black?! for example, the star and the end of the line have an interconnected line, and th inside of it is black. when I'm done making the selection, the whole inside of it turns black! it's rendered useless! i can't see the selection i've made! please answer me.... =(

  • Pause the video when i click on my pen tool, to see the settings used. The settings are located at the top, the pen tool has to be in "paths" mode.

  • @CreativeIceDesigns I did follow the settings. can i have your email? i'll send you a screen clipping of what it looks like maybe you'll know what to do.

  • @CreativeIceDesigns oops, sorry i've resolved it! haha, it's the fill color shit thingy... anyway. thanks! great TUT!

  • @kkjgg112391 (you need to turn the opacity to 0%) then u will be able to see your image not black.

  • Comment removed

  • @dud4lif Solved the problem a few weeks ago, thank you btw. :)

  • @kkjgg112391 make sure you have fill to 0% and opacity 0% in layer box

  • u knoe wen u mess up on the cutting how do u undo the last one u did please let me know!

  • With the pen tool ? if yeah then you see them little square dots right click on it and press delete.

  • @CreativeIceDesigns

  • Thanks!

  • when i do it the shape i make turns white! help!!!

  • Because the opacity is 100% lower it down to 0

  • check out this tutorial, hope it helps, quick and easy way to change the colours: watch?v=Ha6nxgkCMAk

  • I thought that was an excellent tut. and I cant believe people have been so rude! Good on you - and keep on truckin CD! x

  • Thanks for the kind words, yeah their just haters i don't mind them :) Glad you liked the tutorial

  • why not use the history brush instead? desaturate the image then use the history brush on the cab.

  • When i made the video i wasn't that educated in photoshop. However now i know how to use things like history brushes. I agree with your comment however there are loads of ways doing this but, I think this way is the easiest for beginners in photoshop as its not complicated. But thanks for your comment :)

  • 1. I was actually raised up in south london.

    2. Why so rude?

    3. Dont like it, don't watch it.

  • 1. I figured as much.

    2. Sorry, was that rude? My bad.

    3. Well you have to watch something first in order to establish whether or not you like it - idiot. See what I mean about the uneducated part?

  • Your telling me all this why? Just go to other videos and irritate them, btw if you think calling me an idiot is insulting, use a thesaurus, your using basic words to try insult me, when your clearly a genius and only think of your self. I recommend a thesaurus like i said. have a nice day you ignoramus, btw that means idiot for you :)

  • I agree with "HereToBomb". He's very talented and sharing his talent and your complaining about the time he put into his work. Calm down.

  • we don't want to see you make the entire selection, just say 'select your subject' and then skip ahead once youve got your selection made

  • Hahahaha, agreed!

  • Yeah he could do that or you could just fast foward he spent time making this video to try teach you something im sure you can just click abit into the video not that hard.

  • the magnectic lasso tool is cool. try it also

  • That thing is GODLIKE.

  • It'd be nice if you could desaturate the stuff seen through the windows as well.

  • um... well your doing the color isolation effect the hard way. It can save you valuable time if you just de-saturate the photo or use the black and white filter and then make a mask. Then you just mask out the areas that you want color using the brush or selection to be even more precise. Seriously this method will save you so much time. Try it. Don't work so hard buddy.

  • Yeah thanks for the advice i now do it this way however this was made when i wasnt very comfertable with that technique but thanks for the advice mate :)

  • nice one, but u can allso quckmask selection .. for some people thats easier;)

  • Yes very true this is just one way there are many other possibly easier ways of doing this. But thanks for the support :)

  • Oh sorry, i messed it up. i meant polygonal lasso tool :P

  • Haha yeahh i agree also the pen tool with curves, quickmask selection etc they all are possibly easier but this is just one way ;) thanks for the support ! :)

  • Nice, but using the rectangular marquee tool for selecting is easier. Try it!

  • Good tutorial but you need to brush up on the English language. Hard to follow with your lazy accent.

  • Yeah i agree i do have a "lazy accent" However im sure if you look at my newest video it is gettingt better bit by bit, i think it may be that im new to this still and still havnt adapted to talking to a computer screen :) However thanks for the support and thanks for the critisim i will try and improve =D

  • hey...nice tutorial, but my when i select the bit i want to keep in colour...my selection comes out white...help! =]

  • this is an excellent tutorial. Well done

  • Thank you for showing an interest. Don't forget to subscribe ;)
