  • lol linus lol....

u look so uncomfortable and confused

  • @No603Scope video was uploaded in 2007

  • @aeroaa2

    no shit sherlock

  • is that a game console

  • Won't be playing anything without an Operating System. :/ Probably a vital item to add to your shopping list. ;)

  • @mysteryloser24 or you can just pirate it

  • @davidcrowder1234 You could, if you're a moron. :)

  • @NocredRS nice... and I'm looking into building a PC really soon, as soon as i get the money together. I've done alot of research but there is one question i have... P67 or X58?

  • gpu is a gt210- still cannot run without lagging

  • what the.... pentium dual core with 1gb ram. No way thats enough for gaming. my comp cant even run cod 1 with 2gb

  • @pitzaboyful You need a minimum of 128MB for CoD1. Have you checked your CPU and GPU then?

  • @pitzaboyful i play crysis 2 with 2gb of ram i guess your using sd ram arent you

  • your not gonna tell us how to turn it on

  • @NocredRS Nice one 8)

  • thnx for this guide i will be building my first pc next month. do u think these specs are good for gaming?

    asus p8p67 MB

    INTEL CORE I5 2500

    CORSAIR 550 W PSU

    ASUS GEFORCE 560 TI

    COOLER MASTER ELITE 430 CASE

    LG 24X DVD BURNER

    WD CAVIAR GREEN 1.5TB

  • @wwelover999 instead of getting a caviar green get a caviar black or atleast blue i wouldnt suggest the green for gaming unless its for storage purposes only (if u have an SSD drive for booting and OS )

  • @wwelover999 I think you should change your HD to caviar blue, and your font to a 620w,but your specs are gr8 mate ;)

  • @wwelover999 bigger power supply (id say 650w+) and add an SSD as a boot drive if you want to keep the green drive, or switch to a blue or black drive if you use 1 drive for both boot and storange

  • @wwelover999 some RAM would help =.=

  • big long white what? :s

  • OMG, forget this vid, it's 4 years old, that PC is worth $200 now!

  • @VidsEpic Do people actually take this video serious? As in considering this system for current games? Haha I hope not. They will be disappointed:D

  • @ZeroHeroVids zeroheroVids the video is 4 year old so it was a good system to consider for gaming at that time

  • @MrMousekiller9 Yes, Iknow. Just re-read that message I posted, and I just saw that I forgot the word 'now' at "take this video serious, now"? hehe :P

  • why on earth do you take a 450W powersupply for a budget-pc like this? Wouldnt 300W be better?

  • Hi friend! Okay with you? My name is Jean and I'm from Brazil. Congratulations for the video, great presentation. I really liked the foundation for the motherboard and power supply. Can you tell me where to buy this base? Thank you and look your comment. Please send to my email jeanvicente@hotmail.com Thanks!

  • Oh man this is linus 4 years ago? this is soo funny to watch comparedto him now a days

  • Its so silly, ( I NOTICED THE DATE), that my PC is pretty awesome, and It is was built for less than $600.

  • Humble beginnings to euwtoob Gawd lol! Linus rules!!!!!!!

  • I WANT YOUR JOB :( I WANT I WANT I WANT :)

  • This has to be the best job in the world. I build computer with what little computer parts that I have. I am always thrilled when I make something better with what I am given.

  • im gonna make a build wit that case

  • Retro Linus :D

  • dont do that to your sata cables m8.

as an electricien it hurts my eyes to see such torture on signal cables.

you creates wrong magnetic fields by curling them up ,and / or you might damage the cable core inside.

so forget about nicely curled up.

    just use wraps

  • great vid.. i'm planning to do this by buying one by one part (to save money)... thanks a million :))

  • grea8 job>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • the old times^^

  • the pencil thing looks cool - but - it causes an electro magnetic field - interferance could result

  • @sasktank right , good observation.

  • DUDE if someone is installing a PSU into the bottom of their case I would say 99 times out of 100 they already know what theya re doing... you don't find the PSU on the bottom unless it's a HUGE case or water cooling setup

  • true, the sata / pen trick is actually a good enough trick for any pc owner out there.

  • NEW ONE, its been 3 years lol. Linus we want a new one

  • HeY buddy Nice vedio, Subscribed, Hey could you please tell me Will this mobo run nfs and crysis like high end games with e7500 cpu and 8500 graphic card.Thanks,Subscribed.

  • HeY buddy Nice vedio, Subscribed, Hey could you please suggest me for a good mobo in $150 with intel e 7500 cpu and $54 for graphic card .I want to play crysis and nfs like high end games.Which will be best for these games xfx 8500gt for xfx 8600gt.Thanks.

  • Holy crap youtube used to be really low quality

  • not alot was out that was decent but Call of duty/BF2 maybe, and this thing would barely handle that... i wouldnt really call it a gameing System it wuld struggle to keep up with entry systems lol. i have built better for $400 NZD :) but i think its cute, good job

  • won't coiling the sata connector put more pressure on the wires inside causing them to last a shorter period of time?

  • @Fewawaha123

No? To be honest. though to save time (Data travelling thorough the connector) I would cut a chunk out of the connector and rewire it back together. Would take up less room. and data would get through the connector faster.

  • Пособие для тех кто не умеет собирать кампы))))))

  • make a new one with up-to-date parts please :)

  • @LFCforEver12341 yeah with gtx 480 in 4 way sli!!

  • The skipping music is driving me insane. lol

  • Not sure if this is okay to talk about, but is this good for running emulators of console gaming systems? I ask because I've gotten into making codes for PS2 games and can't make live dumps myself because my computer only runs the emulator at around 2 or 3 frames per second. I've gotten tired of asking for dumps from other people, so if this is capable of running a PS2 emulator at reasonable speed I may consider trying this. All in all it was a great tutorial.Fun to watch and easy to understand.

  • Make a new on with better components out today... not with that case though :)

  • nice and tight!

  • this is not enough to 2009 games

  • This video was uploaded almost 3 years ago.

With the power of computers doubling every 10 years, there's now way a computer would have the same performance 3 years later.

I'm sure it was enough to run games that were released by that time.

  • haelstrome, they double like every 1-2 years

  • @Haelstrome every 10 years?

  • i agree that video card is a piece of crap the computer wont run shit maybe counter strike thats bout it

  • You forgot the BIOS settings :-j .

  • connect it to the wall?

    the wall?

i think ill plug mine in an outlet! =p

  • just build it in a case becouse now you have to say "normally you would " just get a case !

  • But then you couldn't see anything going on. So yes, you could say "See, we're actually mounting the DVD drive, but they wouldn't be able to see anything unless it was a really awkward camera angle.

  • can i buy the red tower give the more info 2 make the tower replay me

  • can i buy the red tower

  • dammn!!!!!!!!! i like that thing of the pencil i´m gonna do that with mines

  • thats pencil thing is very cool. i`ll try it out right now.

  • Thats not a case guys. Its a bench for testing the system.

  • that's a nice case but alot dust would get in and it's kind of wired messy

  • its better then my case :P

  • its not a case its a benching station meant for testing purposes only, not to be used permanently.

and that sata twist around the pencil is in-genius, im gonna try that in my next build for wire management

  • tnx man you help alot!!!

  • omfg the pencil/sata thing is fucking the best idea ever!! thnks!!

  • @crazywin69

no its not , its the dumbest thing to do.

you might damage the cable core inside if you curl them up around a pencil.

and you create a magnetic field .

you better off wrapping them parrallel along with other cables.

this way you wont get signal interferance with power cables.

  • 1.8 ghz proccesser and 1 gb of ram lol?

  • haha ur username is funny

  • were you laughing or just saying his username? LOL!!!

  • Sweet i never knew about the pencil trick. Looks kind of ugly though.

  • Imagine if he breaks the pencil while demonstrating to coil up the wire. LOL

  • on the io shield what were those pink and green connectors

every tells me its for a printer but is that really tru?

  • yes it is true

but the connectors are from REALLY old printers

    most printers now use USB

  • Ive never seen a printer that used that but I guess Im just young:)

  • LOL i'm not suprised

i saw them when i was a kid in like 95,98 ish

  • rofl i still use one.. but it came with my computer that had 95 a million years ago.

  • Good video..But how would i install the OS(Vista or XP) on the fresh new rig?

  • Just boot it up, put the XP/Vista disc in the drive making sure it boots from the disk and do a fresh install. Once the OS is on install all the drivers for the GFX card, chipset etc..

  • run any game? 1 word crysis

  • yap like 800vs600 low

  • ho a tink vidio was released 22agust 07

  • Yeah dumb shit that's why crysis was released in October 07. Wow your English is rely bad. What's "ho a tink"

  • it cant run crysis on max graficfs forsure lol

  • Does Linus use Linux?

  • i see what u did there -.-

  • You can't play windows games on full res in Linux. He only uses it on sundays.

  • how much amount of power supply will the following pc need if nothing is overclocked.

    core 2 quad q9650 3ghz cpu

xfx nforce 790i ultra sli motherboard

xfx geforce 9800 gtx+ graphic card

    corsair dominator 4gb ddr3 ram

seagate barracuda 7200.11 500gb hard disk

    a dvd burner

    antec 900 pc case

  • I have a similar build and I use a 750W PSU:

    Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz

EVGA SLI something something FTW mobo

same exact graphics card as you

4GB kingston RAM of some sort

    WD 500GB HDD

    DVD burner

    antec 300 case

    antec 650W power supply

Nothing is overclocked on mine. Look for a SLI ready/certified power supply in case you want to do SLI in the future. I've seen online that some people reccomend a 750-800 watt psu for dual cards, and 1000 or greater for 3 cards. I'd say just google around a bit.

  • a 650w would be good, by like corsair, ocz, antec, brand name pretty much

  • i am thinking of having pc with following specs

    core 2 quad Q9650 3Ghz

xfx nforce 790i ultra sli motherboard

xfx geforce 9800 gtx+ graphic card

seagate barracuda 7200.11 rpm 500gb hard drive

    a dvd burner

    corsair dominator 4gb ddr3 sdram

    antec 900 pc case

please tell me the power supply wattage that this pc will need. i will be using a 20" monitor via dvi and will use it to play games at pretty much high resolution.

  • 750 to be safe

  • Good idea to wrap the SATA cable around a pencil for clean cabling. I'll have to give it a shot.

  • That is a basic skill for every engineer

  • hmmm i never herd about it before time totry it XD

  • A really useful video and whole series for that matter. My kids and I built a good enough rig as a Summer project. They had to sit through many of your videos for training..LoL. The sata cable pencil wrap is a great tip. Cheers.

  • great for keeping the system cool

  • When do you install the operating system? And what happens if you boot without an operating system like windows installed? Big gap in information there for the total newb like myself.

  • The operating system will be installed after the end of this video once everything is installed. It's quite simple actually. You just boot up the computer with a Windows disc in the DVD drive, and normally it will just prompt you with what you need to do. This might be a good tech tips topic though.

  • does all screws come with the case?

  • yes

  • @drealm :D just buy a xp, vista, wondows 7 disk and start up your computer then insert the disk for the os <-- operating system, if nothing happens simply reboot your computer with the disk still in the disk drive

  • this is building a computer tutorial not installing OS tutorial.... if you don't know how I would google or pay the 70 bucks LOL (no I wouldn't pay the seventy buck peopple rip people off...... 40 dollars at best buy to have memory installed RAM that's right 40 BUCKS!!!)

  • @drealm if you boot your PC without a OS installed it will just say something like ''OS not found'' in a black screen

  • Good Job NciX.....usefull for the beginner.

    Love't that case.

  • THE PENCIL THING IS GREAT.

  • is coiling the sata cable going to occur EMI for the cable ?

  • the guy how made the music hasnt got any sense for rythmics

  • WHAT DECENT SETTINGS are you talking about ?? give us a example , i build pc's too and i make this kind of pc only as a livingroom multimedia center NOT as a gaming rig ... how well do you think that this pc runs Crysis par example ?? At what settings ?? What resolution ?? Better use a actual pc case next time , it's easy to explain what goes where that way .. excuse me for my bad english , i am from a country far , far away ... :-)

  • Crysis wasn't released yet when I made this tech tips... Check the video date, lol.

  • well I was going to say exactly what you just said but you just said it!

  • @NCIXcom IM CANADIAN!!!!

  • only thing that strikes me is that its not a 2 ghz processor and only 1 gig of ram!!!!

  • for the front panel connectors. does it matter which side the name is facing? because on my motherboard the prongs are labeled with ground and stuff....how do i know which socket is ground or otherwise?

  • WOW this was very helpful. Most I knew about but I didn't noe about "coiling the SATA Cable". You should make more vids :)

  • Nice video, i helped my friend build one of these. We used a E2180 over clocked to 3.2 with a AC freezer 7 pro, and upgraded the video card to a 8800 GT 512. Great system, plays any game no prob.

  • SHUT UP!

  • Can u make a new 1

  • A new one for the most up-to-date parts? Can you elaborate a little more?

  • no like another budget system with newer parts...like 8600 video card and more ram.this video would have really helped if i watched it when came out

  • Uh, the same logic still applies.

  • @NCIXcom Yes make a new 1, whit new up-to-date parts, so we can see what we can get this time at arround 500$. Thank's.

  • @NCIXcom can you please make a new one with more up to date parts? im realy looking into building my own gaming pc instead of buying one for 700+$ when i migh be able to build a better one for less

  • i've always wanted to see how this tower looks like

  • They have a decent idea for a gaming system. I would suggest two alterations. An 8600gt would make a better card for not much more dinero. Second, use an aftermarket heatsink. I have a pentium dual core overclocked at 3.0 ghz. It is fast enough for a mid range pc.

  • Get min 2gb memory, and radeon hd3850, then it's pretty good gaming system. Not the

  • thank you soooo much for making this video i was stuck on connecting these cables for soo long and now i did it!!!.

  • Awesome case, keeps your system cool when gaming. But if the pc is on and you drop something metal in it, it's going to crash or burn. I suggest you keep it in a vacant area where nothing can get to it except you.

  • That case is for trouble shooting PC's. Its a lot easier then working inside a case. The only reason they are using that case is so you can see whats going on better.

Its not meant for a long term setup.

  • that was not a case lol, it's just to demonstrate how to plug things on their place...u will need an actual real case to build a PC, most because of the dust the system would accumulate

  • Not bad vid, some basics covered, but you forgot one thing - the monitor! Can't play much without a screen. A pretty cheesy system too...

  • Who cares? They already said it wasn't going to be a great system. It also takes a lot more than a monitor to play. Keyboard and mouse are required too smart ass.

  • You know the processor could be the equivalent of a core 2 extreme if you over clock it. I over clocked mine with a good psu and cooling system to 3.4ghz.

  • An absolutely great video, part A and B!, I wish this video had of been here when i was making my low budget gaming system

  • kool vid helpt me alot whit putting my new pc togheter. keep it up also a compliment on the on e vid about the watercooling!!

  • Great sata cable tip, I'm going to go do that right now xD

  • Very good, he knows his stuff.

  • Wow the led switch are really cool. Would be pretty useful for testing new system. The case is also quite nice but I wouldn't use it enough to make it worth it at home.

  • Thanks that whas realy helpfull especially the tip about the sata cable. Keep up the good work

  • hehe snazzy tunes
