Facts they don't mention: The National Flood Insurance Program was enacted in 1968. After Katrina, it is in the red 17 Billion Dollars. The program was started because the federal government was bailing out the same disaster areas over and over again. So, federal dollars were being spent anyway and they were trying to use it to regulate building on flood plains. Research - not propaganda!

This recession started in 2007 under George Bush. People try and blame the problems on regulation passed under Bill Clinton. That's a small part of the problem. Clinton raised taxes and pushed for increases in the minimum wage. There were 22 million jobs created under Clinton and he left a budget surplus. Rising costs,declining wages, and exotic mortgages played a bigger role in the downturn. Bush's Fed Chairman, Alan Greenspan, also played a huge role.

I already explained that in my first comment- You will be forced to have insurance. People will not have freedom to choose. Lack of freedom = slavery. I know it's not complete slavery but each step takes us further. Also, private insurance could never compete with a taxpayer funded system that runs continuously whether or not its making a profit which also ensures that the gov. plan will have horrendous service.
Did you know that the Republicans put a HR plan on the floor? One that would require EVERYONE to have insure, but with no public option? That means, the private sector is the only way to go.

However if we are forced to buy insurance we would be much better off with the free market as pure competition would ensure high quality care and affordability. Facts they don't mention: The National Flood Insurance Program was enacted in 1968. After Katrina, it is in the red 17 Billion Dollars. The program was started because the federal government was bailing out the same disaster areas over and over again. So, federal dollars were being spent anyway and they were trying to use it to regulate building on flood plains. Research - not propaganda!

This recession started in 2007 under George Bush. People try and blame the problems on regulation passed under Bill Clinton. That's a small part of the problem. Clinton raised taxes and pushed for increases in the minimum wage. There were 22 million jobs created under Clinton and he left a budget surplus. Rising costs,declining wages, and exotic mortgages played a bigger role in the downturn. Bush's Fed Chairman, Alan Greenspan, also played a huge role.

cant blame it solely on bush cheney because it was alot of Dems that brought in the sub prime loans and sat there and defended it up to a month before the collapse. Barney Frank one week was saying it was a great system and the next he was saying it was Bush's fault. It was Clinton that brought in sub prime loans, The government was forcing backs to give out a % of sub prime loans and punishing those who didnt claiming racism Obama lead a law suit like that!

economic crash may be a shared problem then, but that doesn't make every bad occurance during Obama's term precisely a democratic fault. Republican lack of cooperation isnt helping much at all, and then you have us spending i dont know how many vast riches of money overseas and 11% unemployment in california and suddenly the economy becomes way more intricate a problem. the war IS the GOPs fault. i wanted it at first until i found out there were no WMDs. His argument doesn't even make sense. You can't compare health insurance to property insurance. Furthermore this man did not provide any thorough valid evidence to back up his claims. But most of all you can't just assume that every liberal has a bleeding heart or every Republican is so staunch.

Two things : there are death panels-in insurance companies. Let congressman x and senator y apply for insurance under an assumed name- see how quickly they are rejected for high blood presure, or history of any previous illness....

I already explained that in my first comment- You will be forced to have insurance. People will not have freedom to choose. Lack of freedom = slavery. I know it's not complete slavery but each step takes us further. Also, private insurance could never compete with a taxpayer funded system that runs continuously whether or not its making a profit which also ensures that the gov. plan will have horrendous service.

That's horrendous too. Any bill that forces anyone to do anything is completely anti-constitutional and immoral other than respecting others individual rights. However if we are forced to buy insurance we would be much better off with the free market as pure competition would ensure high quality care and affordability. But the fed would enforce so many regulations on them that it would essentially be government run anyway and that always = fail.
The only safe option is no FED interference!

They do this in Massachusetts. You take a hit on taxes if you don't have insurance. The state offers insurance cheaper than many providers, but it's still quite pricey.
