  • wow. i just wanted to tell you this is really incredibly touching. i lost a friend almost a year ago like this and the tone of your film reminds me so much of that time. i dont know if youve ever been through that, but you captured it well. it was really nice.

loved it, see you in the fall :)

  • i dunno if the answer is in the comments but i just wanted to know what is the camera you used for this movie ?

  • Panasonic Dvx-100b with a home-made 35mm adapter

  • wow...this film is just amazing, you impress with your longboarding and filmmaking skills, this movie really makes you think...

  • such a dark film... haha. i remember when i lost a pair of shoes. osiris d3's. they were ugly as hell but they were the best skate shoes i ever had. never found em.

  • That was an awesome short film man. From the beginning i knew the shoes were a metaphor for something... Then when i saw the picture of your family/freinds, i understood it. Also how you walked on an empty beach, and went to abandoned houses... Very cool.

  • send this to the youtube acutrally good video contest man.

  • wow, this is a great video.. really contradicts the happiness i have seen in your longboarding videos so it made it even more powerful.

i love your style of all your videos, i really would appreciate it if you could send me a message just kind of describing how you make the colors so warm in your longboarding videos, and everything so viberant. i absolutley love everything about your videos and i am trying to get more serious into video production.

  • oh my bad..i meant flipped it back to normal...like if u had a flip device on it. you made it..cool. pretty resourceful. thanks for answering

  • what lens converter do u use? does it flip the image?

  • I made mine, and yes it flips the image all converters do.

  • dude, I love your style. the way your camera picks up the colors and how you edit them and all, the music, everything. Really good stuff.

I heard you made your camera out of an old 35mm???

    very interested in that.

    Will

  • thanks so much, but my camera isnt exactly made out of an 35mm camera haha, i use a panasonic dvx 100b and what i do is use this 35mm lense converter so i can use 35mm lenses on my camera, its basically like looking through an slr for your camera.

  • he commited suicide?

    wow

nd now he misses his family & Friends

    OR

    his shoes

    lol

    awesome video

  • ya he misses his friends, the shoes are a metaphor for that, read the comments below theres more too it, just dont feel like re-writing it

  • Art.

  • its weird, yesterday, i was looking for my helmet, and i couldnt find it anywhere, i looked and i looked, but just couldnt find it, and i said the same thing to my friend "I really loved that helmet" i think i left it at woodward though, because i havent seen it since

    awsome video

  • haha nice, well i dono if you got this but when he's talking about his shoes, he means his friends... metaphor

  • ohhhhhhhh, i get it, when he commited suicide, he abandoned his friends, which "were the closest thing to him"

  • ya exactly, so when he committed suicide he kicked off his shoes, and that was the metaphor for abandoning his friends, and the whole abandoned beach resembled that too. so really he's looking for the reason he feels upset about killing himself, which is the missing shoes, and when he finds the shoes he realizes it was his friends that he has been missing.

haha theres a lot to it, but i guess it makes sense right?

  • yah, you just got to think about it a little bit

  • Loved it.

  • bitchin, good editing

  • an entire beach abandoned? that was an awesome film man. ireally liked it..

  • is this about suicide?

  • im from barccelona and i dont understand veri good english.but.So fucking beautifull menn!!! very good photografy, and awesome place. you must continuing filming

  • That was amazing,. I miss your woodward edits, but it's good to see how far your film making has come, well done.

  • awesome work steve

you deff have a natural talent for this.

  • where/ whos house is that

  • its an entire abandoned beach. its in straford ct

  • Props on the video Steve

  • thank you steve

  • ..for?

  • i really enjoyed it, it was shot beautifully. didn't fully understand the story, i guess i'll watch it again. oh by the way.

where do you find these tracks? i always have trouble finding good audio to put in anything i film.

  • The music i used is as follows, in order of use:

"Capture the Flag" By Broken Social Scene

    "Penty Harmonium" By Aphex Twins

some Ambient audio i got from an FX prgoram

    "King's Crossing" By Elliot Smith

I guess i found all of these just becuase i have a huge library... Aphex twins has a lot of great stuff to work with, try him.

As for understanding it, im guessing you'll try to figure it out, but i can explain anything if you'd like, just ask

  • ur a beast editor
