@Theshark15z I don't know, but I remember seeing it on the original Karate Kid movie. And that's a pretty famous movie. Ofcourse, it's not the first movie or the only one to use that stance. It's probably spread over dozens of kung fu movies until it eventually grew to be an icon for the eastern martial arts. Just speculation ofcourse. I don't have any actual facts.

@Xylarxcode The big issue here is that most movies like these, there are characters that always make grotesque gestures about the martial arts culture and it gets pretty dam annoying when you see it done in almost every movie, even in the nutty professor that comedian does the same thing.
