  • INCREDIBLY unprofessional. The court may or may not be wrong in instances, thats one thing. But to talk down on an equally powerful and perhaps more prestigious branch wasn't professional. Those idiots in congress and the president standing up applauding DOWN on the U.S. Supreme Court shows a lack of respect. It's not ok when someone in Congress interrupts the President, but it's perfectly ok to do this and then APPLAUD in their face? It's an Equal power. Equal respect. Oh, respect is outdated..

  • Term limits for surpreme court members would cure alot of the problem.

  • A huge boon for corporate interests and the elite....The surpreme court should be ashamed of this corproate suck up.

  • I hope we can impeach some Justices of the Supreme Court for their terribly treasonist decision to eliminate Campaign Finance Reform which was clearly a political decision deciding to let corporations and unions and other large groups spend unlimitedly on campaigns in the ruling Citizens United.

  • The TSA's audacity and tyranny are a direct result of the SUpreme Courts ruling.

All three branches of our government are now illegitimate.

  • AndrewDeerrrrrrrrrrrLong! How does it feel to know Obozo received campaign contributions from BP, a foreign company? You blind sheep schmuck.

  • funny obama. your election was "bankrolled" by all the stuff you mentioned

  • Haaa...The Supreme Court fucked up agian!!!

  • @spareaxe supreme court ruling FAIL!!!!!!

  • How embarrassing for America. Obama reduces us to looking like some third world dictatorship...AGAIN.

And the guy is such a liar.

    1) Campaign finance laws have not been around for a century.

2)The provisions in McCain Feingold that expressly forbid foreign entities from influencing an election were NOT amended or altered in any way by SCOTUS....NOR did SCOTUS create a loophole for this activity by foreign corporations.

Lying, crawfishing, incompetent BPD President....so very tedious.

  • @brigantea

Umm, in their most basic form, campaign finance laws/regulations have been around since 1907...which, you guessed it...is more than a century!

Just read the dissent from the four Justices on the SC decision, they list every case pertaining to the matter since the foundation of those regulations.

  • Very Hugo Chavez-ish. I have no problem with Obama disagreeing with the SC ruling in a different venue and I'd have an even lesser problem with him proposing but a constitutional amendment to rectify it. However scolding the SC during the state of the union was completely inappropriate and utterly classless. Obama gives me the creeps.

  • @cassidy109

Classless? It was the best possible way to convey to the American people the damage the SC has done. I was personally happy that they got theirs in that moment. If they want to pass an idiotic ruling, treat them like idiots.

If they are convinced that what they did was right, then what should they care? As far as the SC goes, this is the closest to accountability that they'll ever get anyway.

  • @AndrewDeLong

It's debatable, to say the very least, that the SC ruling was "idiotic".

What Obama did was unprecedented, & in my view highly inappropriate. In my eyes it came off as bullying & was more akin to what some turd world despot with a beret and shaded sunglasses would do. That was not the venue to attack the SC, in a word or two it was horrific decorum & not presidential.

  • Actually, I would have it no other way. I mean truly, it's the STATE OF THE UNION address. When you boil it right down, attacking the SC (if you can even really call it an attack....I personally don't) was nothing more than just part of informing us about...wait for it.....the state of the union!

I mean really, what better venue would there be?

  • I just want some decorum is all. You view his spiel as no big deal, I and many other people see it as bad precedent, tomato tamato.

As for what would be a better venue.... what for it..... how about a press conference with a detailed comprehensive speech about how the SC ruling was in fact "idiotic" and propose a constitutional amendment to rectify it.

  • As I said, the SC decision pertains greatly to the state of the union. I honestly thought that this was the perfect venue to get that out in the open, seeing as the media (left or right) hadn't been covering it so well (sorry, side stories don't count, imo). He let out just enough to get Americans interested in the topic, wherein they (we) could do our own research on the topic.

And lets be honest, in all logic, do you think ANY constitutional amendment proposed by Obama is really gonna fly?

  • At this point in his term I highly doubt it, although I would give him props for putting it out there. For better or worse Obama is for all practical purposes a lame duck, what political capital he and the dems had is effectively gone whether he wins reelection or not in 2012. That said it took the 27th amendment 202 years to be ratified after being submitted I believe in 1789. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have it thrown out there and discussed though.

  • Too much corporate influence already

  • Scolds the US Supreme court about the very thing he has not yet disclosed.

Where did all your campain financing come from mr. obama???

  • Campaign financing?

Okay...look these terms up (they are completely legal by the by....):

    Hard Money and Soft Money.

Now when you google this, make sure of two things first...NO wikipedia (anyone can put info in there), but instead look for website ending in "edu" and make sure those terms are in relevance to campaign funding.

Now, when you've educated yourself on Hard and Soft Money, come back so we can chat.

    Sound good?

  • Blatant Lie.

Court ruled on part "A" not part "E". Part "E" covers foreign corporations.

As a law professor, he should know.

  • It dosen't matter. part A or E. All of the big corporations are international.

The big corporations own the radio and TV that is confusing you.

  • @666babyoscar--

Study up on 'Separation of Powere.' This will be a new concept for you.

You'll also benefit in the study of Venn's Diagrams, and the basics of logic. Check this: "All of the big corporations are international.:

By your conclusion, there are NO corporations that are not international.

    Woopsie!

    You get an "F"

Progressives and their enthusiastic confusion. If it's not 'red herrings', its coyote spoor.

Now go sit in the corner and put on the funny hat.

  • I know; should have been a 's' on powers.

Instead of correcting other's spelling, check the logic.

  • Listen to them applaud the man who will kill us all.

  • SCOTUS did make the most evil ruling ever. Why did they even hear that case?

Obama's speech was courageous and is what our country should follow. Sadly it will never happen; The Fed and international bankers wield too much power. You can tell by how divided our country is.

  • @666babyoscar

Actually, the Supreme Court was correct in their ruling. The article on Politifact explains well, you should educated yourself before you make such ignorant comments.

  • Bravo LordWolven !

As a law professor, he knows (SHOULD ! ) better!

    Man's got no decorum.

Sounds like a South American Dictator.

    Obama Lied

    'Transparancy Died"

Aint' Been No Nothin' on C-SPAN

    ...and that's the truth

  • I agree with what Obama said.

    as for you

Evil education is evil. Pray for wisdom

On the other hand, I think Obama bends with the political wind, so his power for good is very limited.

  • Look at what he did to the SUPREME COURT. And then the demothugs stand and applaud? He must be punished for the disrespect,

HE OWES THE SUPREME COURT AN APOLOGY and pray they'll accept. When you have no respect for the judges that sit on the highest court in the land what does that say for you, regardless if you agree or do not? And worst yet these politicians stand and appauld his condemnation of the SCOTUS.

  • The REAL last president of the US was JFK... he was killed for wanting to pull out of vietnam, close the federal reserve, etc...

  • @RevolutionNewz You are an idiot.

  • yep, an idiot who isn't afraid of the truth

don't you have anything else to add to this insult, like try to convince me of a lone gunman or something?

you smart ASS people have a world of information at your fingertips, yet you still believe what they taught you in high school and what they tell you on MSM

lemme guess, you watch good morning america to get your news, right?

    HA HA HA
