Since the hurdles for a sufficient proof are quitey high, all cases were dropped. The two most recent cases (Goteborg, August 2010) however are backed up by hard forensic evidence. This is the reason, the INTERPOL arrest warrant has been confirmed. Reception of stolen goods, espionage and treason are the current charges. A remarkable criminal career.

Ok, so here is the best solution. We tell the countries we will pull our troops out of all middle eastern nations. In exchange, those countries are to NEVER ask for ANYTHING from the United States, whether it be aid, money, troops etc. If they want us out completely then they will be on their own COMPLETELY. Julian Assange developed encryption software enabling 'dead letter boxes' ie exactly what Wikleaks uses for its sources to leak anonymously is being now also being used for people to leak / report human rights abuses without being identified. If I'm aloud my free speech: I think that the US ceased to be a democracy a long time ago. Rather then the gov't doing precisely what the people want (why they are gov't) the gov't abuses it's authority by doing covert things with covert interests, when its convenient they inform the public via media. I think of the media as a loudmouth in your ear at all times. What you see and hear it strictly dictated by "them" again.

Charlie Rose interviewed a 4 star admiral on his program this week, and the admiral was very upset about the JA release. It was nice to see these high levels jerks who mess with other people and nations finally be exposed to the light of day. They do not like it one bit. In 1992 Assange pleaded guilty to 24 (not 29) charges of hacking and was released on bond for good conduct after being fined AU$2100. Julian Assange has never been to prison.

The fact is, the Wikipedia article about Julien ASSange is inaccurate and varnished. This is true for the ongoing rape charges too: The Swedisch supreme court looked into the evidence (DNA-tests and forensic medical reports, the victims have passed) and upheld the arrest warrant due to a formal sex crime charge. ASSange's claim, he'd be wanted as a witness is a flat lie.

Furthermore there are serious irregularities in how the case has been pursued by authorities. @Keruaran That's not exactly correct. Since 2008 (!) ASSange was confronted with a multitudes of rape- and sexual molestation charges. Since the hurdles for a sufficient proof are quitey high, all cases were dropped. The two most recent cases (Goteborg, August 2010) however are backed up by hard forensic evidence. This is the reason, the INTERPOL arrest warrant has been confirmed. Reception of stolen goods, espionage and treason are the current charges. A remarkable criminal career.

There are many people, awarded with many prices, who ended up in prisons as convicted criminals. E.g. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were fried on the electric chair in 1953 for much less espionage activities. Believe it or not, but ASSange will become neutralized soon. And the term 'neutralization' is an euphemism for a wet job.

@407buddy - America needs to reform the election process. Today, most votes are cast on machines made by Diebold. These machines collect the digital information which is formated inside a circuit. It is then transmitted through networks that ( can and have been) easily hacked. The 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections were stolen. Question, if Gore were President, could 911 have been puled off. My best guess is no. Reform the voting process, use paper ballets with pencils.

Ok, so here is the best solution. We tell the countries we will pull our troops out of all middle eastern nations. In exchange, those countries are to NEVER ask for ANYTHING from the United States, whether it be aid, money, troops etc. If they want us out completely then they will be on their own COMPLETELY. It is like Germany now. They want our troops and nuclear weapons out but STILL want to be covered by our nuclear umbrella. Sorry, Germany, you can't have it both ways!
