@bartjoboy Here on Ubuntu, I prefer Krita 2.3. But I shall get a closer look into gimp (though I hear it has a huge learning curve)

@testingte Also looks like a very nice drawing app, might look into that a bit. :D But it looks like only suitable for drawing and painting. I am a web developer, so I prefer an app where I can also create some graphics for the websites.. :P

Yes, there is some learning curve, but if you know Photoshop, than it's pretty easy to pick up because GIMP's interface is almost the same as the one from Photoshop (there are a few differences of course..)

@bartjoboy never tried photoshop or Gimpshop(Gimp photoshop styled) and Krita is more leaned toward drawing and painting pictures from scratch, but it does have some photo-manipulation properties whereas Gimp is the other way around

from what I currently know: if you want to paint/draw more than photo-manipulate: Krita is best.

if you want to photomanipulate more than draw/paint: Gimp is best.

(btw, Krita placed #2 in the top 10 free photoshop alternatives a while back (first was Gimp/Gimpshop)
