Epic. Hosoi was/is legend. Just watched the rising Sun documentary on Showtime a month or so ago and made me remember just how important his skating was to the sport and subculture of skating. A history timeline of vert could easily read Dogtown then Hosoi/ Hawk. Also props for the Big Audio Dynamite track. Hosoi was a fan of The Clash and this was Mick Jones' side project. ~peace~

He's pushing 42...born in '67.. I remember him form the late 80's and early 90's...he made Tony Hawk look like a 5 year old on a bigwheel..Hosoi was the best and could have been a household name had it not been for him using dope.

Christian Hosoi is the man, he's a living legend. He was neck and neck with Tony Hawk as far as the best skater back in the day, and then he fucked his life up with drugs. He's still the shit !! BTW I love the music. It takes me back to high school.

it's so cool to watch footage like this. i wasn't around for any of this, and comparing it to vert skating of today, this is so much more sick. like, just seeing him do a backside air is more exciting to me than watching someone like PLG do some sort of nollie heel spinny thing. and people need to stop talking smack on him because he's a Christian now. just his beliefs, ya know? not a big deal really...

Hosoi was one of my favorite vert skaters in the mid 80's,and i still have pictures of me rippin it up on my Hosoi Hammerhead!!!

The back-side ollie to tail....WITH SOME POP....was the baddest trick on the whole video. Not to mention it was in a freakin backyard pool. Not made for skating. To an old pool skater like myself....that was amazing. Think Ill watch it again.

E ai Cexa..I'm Brazilian too, Vert Ramp was the era I grew up in in SP, Hosoy was a legend then..haven't been back for a long while, do a lot ot people still do vert in Brazil? I know Sandro Dias & B Burniquist are rated top skateboarders..I know that much...Cheers!
