i am really obsessed with this show and these two guys!! unfortunately the episodes shown in the cable tv HK are so random, like jumping form one to the other!! the one i watched last night was about new zealand in which justin was pissed off by not able to see Scott doing the bungy jump! he was so funny yet seems a bit childish sometimes haha. well fair enough. I thnk what irritatees me most, is that sometimes he is so obnoxious and juvenile that it likely offensive to the locals. In fact, in many cases, if you look at the locals in the background., much of the time, most are not laughing along with him, but rather have a look of tolerance at best (eg. putting up with overbearing tourists again, because we have no choice....) it's sad, and gives all north americans a bad name.

I think you make a good point....this is after all television! "Intellectual depth" is over-ambitious...personally, I"d settle for...the maturity and awareness of the average, university-educated 30 yr old? I certainly don't feel that standard is too much to ask.
