if you want more battery when you are going to the bathroom turn on sleep mode or a screensaver. when you are using turn down the brightness. turn off when not using for a few hours.

I'm trying to decide whether to get this or the Acer Asipire One AOD250. Most of it just for World of Warcraft. I've read reviews of the Acer, where people have said it runs the game fine, can the Asus do the same? It's $30 lower than the Acer right now at Best Buy.

For gaming I would recommend an Ion Netbook. If you are really buying it for gaming, the HP 311 is a good deal. Just because it can run it doesn't mean it will run it well. WOW is a serious game, you'll want an Nvidia Ion platform.

one is on the left side toward the back and the other is bottom front right. They're decent for what they are but far from high fidelity. The podcast I listened to last night sounded tinny, but definitely listenable. I didn't crank the volume, but I was working between two rooms in my house and it was loud enough.

They are located at the bottom, closest to the front. But the netbook curls slightly upwards there, so that the sound projects clearly. I'm actually listening to music on it as we speak. And I've found that the sound projects very clearly. Hope this helps you

Removable battery is the big difference. If your battery goes on your 1008HA (outside of warranty) then your screwed for getting it repaired at $'x' cost. The 05 has a removable/replaceable battery and is slightly thicker at 1.4 inch rather than 1 inch (1008).

It really comes down to that much a of a difference as there is not a lot. Personally i think the 1008 looks a bit cooler but your connections are hidden is all sorts of silly places which can get annoying (designed to reduce thickness)

If you get the 1005HA-P you can get it with the new 6-cell battery that has 10.5 possible hours (up 2 hours from the previous 6-cell 1005HA models). You do give up a 1.3MP camera for a .3MP camera. I'd like to see a comparison on the camera differences :D. Also at least some of the new 1005HA-P have 250GB hard drives up from 160GB.

The white one is the Asus 1008HA. It's main difference is that it has the slimmer design and has less battery life (about 6 hours...spec. But its more like 5 hours with real world use. Oh...and its about $370...$10-$20 more expensive than the 1005HA.

The black one (reviewed) is the Asus 1005HA which is selling for around $360 U.S. has more battery life (10.5 hours..spec. Real world is more like 8.5 hours). Its a little bulkier/heavier than the 1008HA but you get more battery life.

i need the opinon of a asus 1005ha user. I had the laptop and sent it back. One thing that i thought was that the keyboard felt very cheap. Keys round the outside area of the keyboard sounded normal however keys in the middle area just about all the letters, sounded funny. Like they werent linked into there sockets properly. I really had a problem with choosing between the -h and -m model, but I thought that the extra 0.06Ghz the -h model has isn't so important. Neither is the webcamera with 1.3MP instead of 0.3. And I prefer a matte display.

Win7 flies on Netbooks! Just did an install on a ASUS 1000HA and it boots 11sec faster. Win7 is lighter and faster then XP, everything about it is designed for a netbook, why would an almost 10 year old O/S be a better fit for a device that has only been around for under 2 years?

The up and down key look small, and i use them alot. i am using the 1000H, and it is kinda bulky like someone said. but i think im going to wait for 1101HA, the keyboard on that one is so perfect. FN key and shift key at the arrow keys is just what i needed.

I am trying to get more into the specifications of the newer models. But they dont give alot of information about those. i will just wait a bit for newer models/versions.
