I PERSONALLY ENJOYED THE 'GO FOR IT' LP. 'SWEETER AS THE DAYS GO BY' IS MY JAM! SOMETIMES WHAT CRITICS 'PAN' TURNS OUT TO BE DAMN GOOD!

thanks for the info. i had read an article over 10 years ago that the producers at solar were fired because of poor sales from the albums of lakeside, the whispers and shalamar, especially lakeside your wish is my command album. their next album was a lot better. i had all 6 albums from the 3 groups

this was the only song i liked which was on their third worst album which is why they immediately recorded their best album called friends 3 months later.

@mrdawsonllc The song "Go For It" wasn't too bad. Other than that i agree with the rest.. Friends was by far their best.

The reason why this album did so poorly was because SOLAR was wrapping up their partnership with RCA (before moving on with their linked deal with Elektra) and they owed one more album for Shalamar as well as Lakeside and The Whispers and they rushed those albums by slamming songs from the vaults as far back as 1979. Half of the songs from Go For It were recorded around the same time as songs from Friends. At least "Sweeter As The Days Go By" was a big R&B hit, but that was it
