I love this song.....the first time I heard of Plumb was this song...a station that is no longer around called WMPH 91.7 from Deleware played this a lot!! I thank them for introducing me to Plumb.....she is awesome!! She reminds me of Tori Amos a bit but I really like Plumb more than Tori!! Plumb most likely wrote this song thinking about depression I'm sure was brought on by the molestations she received from her uncle. Depression is caused by a number of reasons. No one should be put down by anyone else because of it. I scold one of my younger friends for many stupid things she does (i.e. drinking, smoking, etc.) but when she told me she cut herself out of depression, yelling was the last thing on my mind. I wanted to comfort her and help her. That's the approach to take.

this song does not patronize cutting, more so, makes it more aware to the general ignorant public. It is not a song to influence troubled persons to grab a razor and a wrist, but it is a song that acknowledges and recognizes the people that do. Cutting/Self injury, is frightening and steadily rising health risk,but, because of songs like this that spread a message on a mass scale via music, we are able to raise awareness far faster than just by word of mouth.

Yes therapy can go farther but cutting looks like a quicker fix. Also, many cutters are ashamed of their problems and dont want others to know.

well everyone realizes cutting doesn't solve problems. it really can numb you for while. i don't cut now but i used to. unless you have been through it you don't really understand. when there is so much going on around you that you can't control it feels good to have control over the pain on the outside. it doesn't really hurt that i remember, but it takes your mind off the pain on the inside. and you can control where it foes across your skin, how deep it goes. things like that.

It is Very Serious and actually addicting to the ones who do it relieve emotional pain. The pain can be expressed not only in cutting, but in any way of self injury. It can be anything... I have overcome cutting. This song led me to look further into my depression. I found a website all on cutting - self harm. I get sores on my arms from an allergic reaction to some food. I was not letting my wounds heal I have found a different comfort. I still have depression but I have decided to live my life, not my diagnosis. :)

what an odd song to remix... it works extremely well, but unless you'd previously related to it I can't imagine the words would make you feel all that elated to the point of dancing.
