Consider the idea that most students don't have much time around father figure due to broken family. They go to elementary school full of women....They are raised by women, and there is not much room for masculine charactersistics in the institutions that can effect change.

So basically they promote femininity and want women to feel good about their femininity but they want boys and men to feel bad about their masculinity and turn feminized. IMO, the reason for "women getting a better education than men" is because of how we teach our kids, not because of the feminist movement. It's been proven that boys learn better during excitement and competition, and girls better in peace, quiet and conversation. The latter is favored by teachers and schools. Perhaps we should separate boys and girls during grade school, so that they both get the best out of their education and boys get to be themselves.

The feminist movement has completely changed the way kids are taught today and many laws have been added like Title IX because of the feminists movement. Education has become extremely "feminized" and obviously girls are going to excel under such conditions compared to boys. @NautyKnight I'm not an American history expert, but I do know that women have been teachers since the 1800's, perhaps earlier and they usually didn't favor either gender. Young boys did better in the classroom than girls at the time, mainly because they had the encouragement of much older students to make them want to do well, and the environment was better suited for them. They don't have the same motivation now, and it's not because of feminism. Its our failing education system.
@MsBleedingCrow - I don't believe that there were more female teachers than male teachers until 1970. And the gap between male and female teachers is very disproportionate comparatively. Feminism has played a role in it, to what extent is hard to gauge but it's still there and the schools are very feminized compared to how they were before 1970. Boys don't get the same encouragement today because it's all been given to the girls to beat the boys out. Nobody cares about the future of boys.

IMO, the reason for "women getting a better education than men" is because of how we teach our kids, not because of the feminist movement. It's been proven that boys learn better during excitement and competition, and girls better in peace, quiet and conversation. The latter is favored by teachers and schools. Perhaps we should separate boys and girls during grade school, so that they both get the best out of their education and boys get to be themselves.

@MsBleedingCrow - Feminism is responsible for how we teach our kids. The feminist movement has completely changed the way kids are taught today and many laws have been added like Title IX because of the feminists movement. Education has become extremely "feminized" and obviously girls are going to excel under such conditions compared to boys. There's also a lot of gender bias/discrimination in schools as well considering 90% of teachers are females and favor girls to boys.

@NautyKnight The only thing that feminism has changed in education is the banishment of chivalry in the classroom and the fact that there are classes/clubs/schools just for girls. Lmao... 90%? Where did that statistic come from? At my HS, roughly 40% of the teachers were men. The only class I had where a woman teacher favored girls was honors Bio, where there were only 4 boys out of 22 total students. But she did put up an effort to reach out to the boys as well. (con...)

@NautyKnight I'm not an American history expert, but I do know that women have been teachers since the 1800's, perhaps earlier and they usually didn't favor either gender. Young boys did better in the classroom than girls at the time, mainly because they had the encouragement of much older students to make them want to do well, and the environment was better suited for them. They don't have the same motivation now, and it's not because of feminism. Its our failing education system.

@MsBleedingCrow - I don't believe that there were more female teachers than male teachers until 1970. And the gap between male and female teachers is very disproportionate comparatively. Feminism has played a role in it, to what extent is hard to gauge but it's still there and the schools are very feminized compared to how they were before 1970. Boys don't get the same encouragement today because it's all been given to the girls to beat the boys out. Nobody cares about the future of boys.

@NautyKnight True, schools in general have been feminized since the 1970's, but how much depends on the school/district/state. Some sick people really don't care about boys, but others are waking up. I still don't blame feminism on failing grades and drop-outs. We put our kids in school too early and they're not there long enough. Even with our understanding of psychology, we fail to meet the learning needs of each gender.

@NautyKnight I've had that book recommended to me a few times, and I remember watching an interview with the author. Haven't gotten my hands on a copy yet, tho. Modern feminism does hurt everyone, and I believe it has gone too far. Extreme misogyny hurts everyone as well, men more so than women. Favoring one gender's rights over another isn't equality... it's a discreet form of suppression.

it's not because of the system. it's because women and men didn't have to compete for the same spots in higher education.
now that they do, women are winning out because we can concentrate, sit still, focus, and study. most boys just can't. it's not a war or a crisis. it's a reality that was hidden for a long time.

I was raised to be a feminized boy. It didn't work...at all. I lived outside of the US and realized that gender equality can only be possible if masculinity and femininity are kept separate and respected. No woman is truly a man hater. She is a woman hater.
