i need to do similar repairs. i dont understand why you want to jack anything up when you could lay a 1 or 1/2 inch on top of that one beam. could you explain why its better to jack than add wood. and also dosent jacking the house cause more stress on the existing structure ie windows, other joists, hvac/plumbing etc
