When students shout out answers, yell, talk out of place, it causes a lot of chaos. In any classroom it can be a definite problem (not one that tears a the fabric of humanity or anything). Life becomes a lot easier for any teacher when kids know how to interact within a set of guidelines.
When I came back to Japan at 12 years old, after spending 6 years in U.S. and Europe, nobody in the class would raise hands in response to teachers question, even if you know the answer. In U.S. everybody would raise hands, sometimes even if the answer was completely silly. On this issue, I like the american attitude much better! Please change our kids! I am not a teacher myself but am interested in the work very much :) Looking forward to the coming episodes!
Can't say that I can "change kids", but I will foster an environment where all the kids in my classroom will always feel comfortable and confident to ask questions and challenge me!
Thanks for creating this channel!

So is this a common "problem" there? I mean, what tends to be the system for answering questions other than hand raising?
