Um, you should be able to do tis on WMM. To shorten a clip, just put the mouse on the right edge of each picture, and click and drag to the left. The clip will be shortened. to reverse it, put the slow down effect on it one or more times and then adjust accordingly.

A combination of synching and lengthening should get you the desired effect.

Ha! Squid's face implodes. And about movie maker, just drag in your audio and video clip. PLace them in the bar. To make sure they are in sync, place the 2 things so they have the same starting point. If you need more help, just yell.
