I first heard the EP version of Camilo on Barn Sessions and it uses the riff much more prominently. Beautiful track whether or not the association was intentional, but for me it just makes it that much deeper.

the song is about a soldier who refused to fight in the wars any more after his first deployment. song is a true story. comments about conscientious objection in the military would be more appropriate. the military cant support soldiers that do not want to fight, and they cannot make it easy for soldiers to weasel out of their obligation. i respect the conscientious objectors, in this military, it is a lot more difficult to CHOOSE not to fight, than it is to just do what we're told

@rshea1313 why? supporting the war is just beyond my understanding when every reason to go was a lie. There was no link with 9/11, no WMD's, no reason to attack Saddam as opposed to any other evil dictator (like our allies in in indonesia and saudi arabia) when we did, considering we were selling him weapons during most of his atrocities and no plan as to what do after the invasion. Its turned into a disaster and the blood is on mine and your hands for not stopping it. Peace.
