  • i very well expect to be the millionth to say..

But this is the first time I see a clip from the 25th anniversary.

Knowing the 10th anniversary earlier, makes it difficult to enjoy this version.

Not close in a lightyear compared to alun armstrongs version.

That one is simply the best performance.

  • Haha, love the Thenardiers :). But... They are strange, haha :). I know they are strange, but I mean, their daughter died, and they are happy about it? Bof... Strange :).

  • Did they skip over Javert's suicide?

  • @LeanneJaseyRae No it's on a different video

  • I'll say with the vall's rhythm:

    Thaaaat Mariuuuus, iiiiis so baaaaad

    Nobody can't argue against that.

I don't know who chose him

But did a horrible work, for me...

  • The chubby girl made a mistake @ 3:54

  • I loved Marius and Cosette's wedding. She gets the wedding her mother, Fantine, never had.

If you think about it, Marius is who Valjean could have been had he not been thrown in jail. He's so sweet, charming and romantic. And Cosette is like her mother before she was hardened by her tragic romance. She's beautiful, innocent and kind.

I always detected an unspoken romance between Valjean and Fantine. It's like the wedding of Cosette and Marius is the one Valjean and Fantine never had.

  • two people from disney in a famous musical

  • they are ok, Ashley Artus and Lynne Wilmot from the 25th anniversary tour were much better, fair is fair.

  • Jenny Galloway should of got the sack or at least thrown of the stage. She's terrible!

  • I've seen all the variations of this song production and these two are by far the BEST. They are dressed (including "Master of the House") for the part, they LOOK the part and they sure do act the part. And best of all they seem to be enjoying the hell out of themselves while they do it. Is there any more one can add?

    Darrow...for the Prosecution

  • Ne Ne Ne Ne!!!! Madame Thenardier is amazing!!!!!!

  • I hate that Thenardier and his wife don't even care that their own daughter, Eponine, Is dead! I would be slapping Maruis because she died for him!!

  • @yellowiscool58

That's kinda the point...they're despicable human beings. But, as they point out, 'We're still here!' - they have a scrappy survivor vibe that certainly doesn't redeem them, but serves as a contrast to the good people and idealists who don't survive this story.

You're supposed to hate them, but they do round out the cast of characters.

  • @7SonsofFeanor true but i still don't like it

  • @yellowiscool58 I love the contrast bw the Thenardiers and Valjean here and in the Epilogue. On the surface the Ts look like they've come out on top, while Jean dies poor and (almost) alone. But the Thenardiers leave behind dead children, misery and hate. Jean leaves two living, happily married kids, and a long list of good deeds. Who is happier?

  • @modernjuice I hear you. I was teasing about Nick Jonas. That's why I wrote "to all their fans, I'm just kidding" in my previous comment. :o)

  • Nick Jonas did well, he is simply excellent!!!!!!! I just think he did better than before ;D

  • This is the only song that Nick Jonas doesn't strain his voice in haha

  • ...who decided that a Jonas brother should play Marius? Robert Pattison could have done a better job.

  • @BlueToast97 and that's saying something!! :)

  • HA! Love Mme Thenardier's "Nue nue nue nue" at 3:18 to 3:19

    And her laugh at 3:07

  • God the Jonas one is reallyyy bad :/ Gareth Gates is far better than i expected in the role... but the Jonas guy is a bit terrible

  • @TheRemorseful in other productions I've seen, when Marius says, "Take this too." he punches him and throws more money on the floor. When Marius is asking god's forgiveness, it was for his violent act. But here, you are absolutely correct. They could never have a sweet little Jonas Brother acting violent (to all their fans, I'm just kidding). So instead he just hands over the ring as extra payment.

  • @iloveshika1689 generally yes. When Marius says, "Take this too." he punches him and throws more money on the floor. When Marius is asking god's forgiveness, it was for his violent act. But here they could never have a sweet little Jonas Brother acting violent. So instead he just hands over the ring as extra payment.

  • @Tiffany21NYC pretty sure it's nothing to do with "sweet little jonas"

but the fact that it's a concert version and that nothing that is normally acted on stage in 'regular productions'

    is being physically acted.

  • I love them both!!

  • wasnt marius suppose to punch thenardier when he said "...valjean was my savior that night...as for you take this too!" ?

  • @iloveshika1689

When he says "Take this too" he means the ring that he was shown.

You see, Marius had to pay for the information, and with "Take this too" he meant "keep the ring as payment, too." After he says it, you can see Thenardier put the ring in his inner pocket.

  • ok ,in my opinion NICK JONAS did a really god job , but he need just more practise only so If he's job didn't like you ,dont watch him , because you cant just standing were you are and judge him . this is so disappointed for him when he doesnt found his fans support him , NICK I AM WITH YOU , GO ON !!

  • @T19951230 in that as in so many things your information is faulty and I take advice and ignorant comments such as yours from nobody. I repeat Nobody! Nick Jonas was terrible and he should be hanging his head in shame. We all have our opinions and if you can't accept mine then your need to review yourself as person.

  • @melodyjenkitten first what are these sharp tone that spoke to me by ?, second I didn't say that I can't accept your opinion on any other opinion , what I want to say that you can tell us what in your mind , but in A POLITE WAY , that all .

  • @T19951230 sorry but your comment looks like gobledey gook to me. I can't string it together.

  • @melodyjenkitten i was quoting the song?

  • although his voice isnt great in the other songs i really like nicks voice in this scene

  • @xxStephieKxx he is sing/speaking not singing for your information!

  • @melodyjenkitten alright then i like his singing/speaking in this scene

  • 'Nyah nyeh nyah nyah'

  • Oh dear god.... EVERYONE in my town looks like Madame Thenardier. My life is so sad. lol

  • @FluffehPika what a stupid comment. who the heck do you think you are giving youtube users nonsense talk like that to read. MERCY ME!

  • @melodyjenkitten Uh.... It's not a stupid comment. It's a fact. I came upon the realization that most people in my town looks like the Thenardiers. It's horrible. And what kind of stupid response was yours? You don't make any sense.

  • Let's be fair- Nick is a singer. Matt is not. MATT WAS BETTER AND LOUDER THAN NICK.

  • Terrible people...but then again we all have a little Thenardier in us.

  • I REALLY wish people would stop fighting about the cast. Don't like, don't listen, simple as that.

  • They should've showed the part when Marius punched Thenardier.

  • @RedKingCommandz ok fuck you for one thing two: nick jonas did a fantastic job in this and finally for you information I am from Pittsburgh which means I speak pittburghesse you fuckin retard

  • These two are just as excellent as Alun Armstrong and Jenny Galloway were fifteen years ago. I wish I could say the same for some of the other actors in the 25th as opposed to the 10th.

  • These two make the perfect couple, I tell ya that! Couldnt have asked for better casting :]

  • Well, they don't exactly seem concerned about their daughter's death. You know, no biggey.

  • @RealGenius97 I'm not even sure they know or care about Ponine's death.

  • The kiss<3 Nick<3 Nick´s Voice, Nick is cute!...Blah Blah Blah. Thenardier is realy good! :D

  • yall need to leave nick alone him did a marvolous job

  • @bprocks1245 lol your judgement of performance is just as bad as the way you speak :P

him did not do a "marvolous" because him is crap. yall need to get your hearing checked

  • Haha, check out the Transcribe Audio captions:

    "Go away, ninety-eight!"

"Strong Bob Sean was nice seeing that night"

"Doing it with an activist hands-on"

  • @kestrelq okay ''this onces a queer but what can you do'' exaly is ''responds that whe have a newspaper''

    wtf google XD

  • the jonas fail....

  • Nick has to be the worst Marius I have ever seen and I saw a production of this at a high school.

  • @sorris28 yes I said the same thing. Nick Jonas is a talentless bastard who loves himself too much and he has the most awfull voice. Cameron Mavkintosh asked him to be in the show in hope that he would attract lots of young people to the show and then introduce them to musical theatre. I wish Cameron would of chosen someone better. Nick Jonas should rot in hell and burn in the river of fire after that performance!

  • @thornflowerpetals Um, okay. I'm not even a Jonas fan (at all), and that sounded a little harsh to me. :P

  • @thornflowerpetals Agreed with limegreenbella. Sorris28 has a more valid point then you because you are simply trying to say the worst things about him. Sorris is stating the truth.

I wouldn't be suprised if you looked up bad thing to say about people on the internet.

  • @thornflowerpetals um, limgreenbella is right, srsly you should just calm down man, just calling people names is immature, if you're going to state some one has no talent, at least make it have a point, you just sound like some one who puts together bad words with no understanding of what you're really saying.

  • @thornflowerpetals umm...chill? I don't like him in the Jonas Brothers, but I actually liked him well enough in this. Maybe you just don't appreciate that it takes guts to do something like that. Maybe you should rot in hell and burn in the river of fire after that comment? Karma's gonna get you good. You're just jealous that he had more courage and talent in this than you have in your pinky. No he's not the best. But he did pretty darn good in such a large show like this.

  • @sorris28 agreed

  • Thank god for Matt Lucus' mum, he only played Thenardier as she asked him to! He is simply perfect for Thenardier.

"Where the duke. Did that Puke" Best line ever! ♥

  • @EmilYxSax well i dont think that they cared anyway because wasnt gavroche there child and they just kick him unto the streets :P she loved her daughters but i dont think they loved them that much :P

  • I was hoping for Jackie Marks or Tracie Bennett to play Madame T in the 25th Anniversary as Jenny's played her in the West End, Broadway and the 10th (fantastically, might I add) and I thought they'd give someone else a go. But she is fantastic in this, I think her Madame Thenardier has changed a lot since the 10th Anniversary. But it still works ! Bravo !!!

  • I'm not usually a fan, but Nick Jonas is really quite sexy in this part haha. Matt Lucas is perfect Thénardier.

  • @RozLaChimmer Nick Jonas is a talentless bastard who loves himself too much.

  • @thornflowerpetals He does love himself. But I do like him as Marius. He's not overly fantastic, but he was enjoyable and he had a good time which showed and made it enjoyable to watch.
