Predaking was developed by the person who developed alot of the super sentai series aka power rangers in america and was built by bandai which is why hes alot different from alot of the other G1 figures.

On another note though you are right predaking is dam expensive he cost me almost two hundred for a reissue as opposed to 400.00 for an original. It is true the predacons do look somewwhat simpl in design.I think hasbro was trying to sell predaking as a product instead of trying to make the figures look awesome even when they are not combined, do not get me wrong they do look cool but lets face it they look

I'd never even heard of Predaking before, until you said you were going to review him.

I don't believe I've ever seen the toy before either. It's quite large. And I agree, its style seems different from other Transformers.

Predaking probably wouldn't be something I'd buy, myself. I prefer a more 'mechanical' Transformer, if that makes sense to you.

Do they even still make Combiners though, I wonder? Whenever I hear someone talk about the Combiners, it's almost always about the older ones.

Did you know that in the Marvel UK continuity, that Divebomb and Swoop share a mutual hatred and fierce rivalry between one another. On Cybertron, millions of years before the Earth wars, Swoop and Divebomb engaged in battle, that resulted in the defeat of Swoop and the Predacon taking Swoops' old name. YES Swoop was once called Divebomb. But the Predacons' original name remains a mystery.

Great review as always, mate. I managed to get the die-cast metal re-issue version when it came out a few years back. It weighs a ton and my only complaint is regards to Headstrong-the metal version is a sod to stand. I actually like the individual Predacons and their alt modes, especially Rampage, Razorclaw and Divebomb.

Excellent review of Predaking. He is the best of all G1 Gestalt.

Predaking does appear again after Series 3 and that's in the Japanese OVA Transformers The Zone (although he has a weird head). He shows up along side many of the other G1 Gestalts and meets his doom at the end of that episode.
