to people saying tone is in the player, not the gear..completely false. the actual tone comes from the guitar, the pickups, and the gear. sure, dynamics come from the actual playing of the guitar, but the tone is all gear
@jw89 you clearly have never seen an amazing player get great tone through a practice amp. Sure gear does contribute to tone. But it's the only factor.
I saw this guitar in a guitar world magazine and this was the ad: "Play anything from funky jazz to blistering metal, and everything in between" or something like that. That's what got me into this guitar, and I'm considering getting the hollowbody I because i can't really afford the ii just yet :/
thats my dream guitar right there. its so incredibly light and the tone it delivers is astonishing. i used to dream of a les paul custom but its waaay too heavy and your getting a better sound and way less weight out of the hollowbody. i love it
awesome guitarist by the way, your amazing dude :D
Hey Blueser-- I've got a one-off singlecut PRS employee built h'body private stock wood(flame maple, mahog- any/rosewood neck) & one-of-a-kind 'ALIEN' in- lays & hand signed by by PRS himself. This axe is AWESOME! PRS guitars are AAA++++! It seems that alot of the comments are from

That is one absolutely false and no offense, but retarded statement. Tone cannot be taught? It's not the gear? That's like saying the sound of a car depends on it's driver. Tone is about 100% gear dependent. The gear you choose is what determines the tone it produces (and whatever settings you have your amp, effects, etc set for of course). It has absolutely nothing to do with being "inside the player".
You need to redefine your definition of "tone"... it's all in the fingers baby. Wes Montgomery had great tone, not because of his gear, but his style of play. Look how many people try to sound like SRV, and don't come close. You can play his guitar, through his set up, hell... you can play the same notes, but you will never sound like him, not it a million years.
wow^^ you can read finger^^ you are right...my first e-guitar was a fender tele and my 2nd a strat but i also like the warm sound of a gibson or a PRS

Nice work! You sound good, but the back track takes away from you a little.(No disrespect to the king, but the speakers sound bad over the mike, while your guitar cuts right through!) I must sound amazing in person ....
you guys are all retarded . the tone comes from both the player and the gear

See boys and girls, 6 grand worth of gear doesn't buy good tone.

Good thing you're not teaching tone classes.

Tone cannot be taught, it lies within the player, not the gear.

Uh no you need to look up the definition of guitar tone. Guitar tone is not how a player makes his guitar sound.
acidosmosis 3 years ago
there is a balance but a lot of it is in the gear, but not all
